No, not anymore

The man in an emerald green suit knelt next to her and took her bloody hand, wrapping it swiftly with a white handkerchief. He applied gentle pressure to the wound, just enough to stop it from bleeding. His other hand was checking her feet for any scald from the coffee.

Ying Yue gazed at the seriousness of his face, and then focused on those long lashes and familiar caramel eyes that were so prominent about him. It was really him -- the man who tried to help her at Jifeng town.

He said they might meet each other soon, and here he was in the flesh.

Fei Huangjin disliked the way that Su Jianjun was taking care of Ying Yue, and he moved in to make him step aside. "Director Su, I'll manage that." He didn't try to make it sound like a request. He said it like an order.

However, the man didn't get the hint and ignored him instead. "CEO Fei, her wound seems to be quite deep. If you have a first-aid kit in the office, it would be best to get it now so I can dress her injury." He looked up at Fei Huangjin expectantly.

His jaw clenched and his hands balled into fists, but he turned around anyway to head to the room hidden behind his office. Fei Huangjin's personal resting area had a bed, a bathroom, and of course, a first-aid kit.

Ying Yue's wide eyes were still fixed on Su Jianjun. Director Su? Did that mean he was the new director of Changsu? "You… I didn't expect to meet you again, and so soon."

He looked back at her with a charming smile. "I didn't think I'd meet you like this, either. How are your feet? Do you feel any discomfort? You might have a scald somewhere."

Flustered, she shook her head. "I'm fine."

"Well then, what do you say we move off from the floor and on to the couch?"

"Right."

Su Jianjun helped her up and supported her like a gentleman to the couch, and then he grabbed a pop-up tissue from the coffee table, bending down on one knee to wipe off the coffee stains on her shoes and feet.

Her face immediately flushed bright red. "Director, I can do that myself."

"No. You're injured," he insisted. He went on to wipe her feet dry, looking like a gallant knight as he did so and making her embarrassed with the attention he was paying her. When he was done, he flashed her another smile and sat beside her. "How have you been? Still planning to run away from home?"

His teasing remark eased the tense atmosphere between them, and the unease between her eyebrows disappeared. A small giggle escaped from her throat. "No, not anymore." She bit her lip. She had to remember that she was at work, and that it was best to be professional, even under the current circumstances. She held up the hand that was wrapped in his handkerchief. "Thank you for this, Director Su."

He was about to open his mouth to reply when Fei Huangjin closed the door behind him and quickly strode over with a first-aid kit in tow. There were tension lines on his forehead and his eyes darted from Ying Yue to Su Jianjun, and back.

This didn't escape Su Jianjun's observation.

"I've got the kit. Director Su, may I ask to sit in your place? I'll dress her wound myself." Fei Huangjin's imposing stance loomed over the other man, prompting him to acquiesce.

Su Jianjun stood up with a smile.

With this, Fei Huangjin didn't hesitate to sit beside Ying Yue, taking off the soaked handkerchief before pulling out a disinfectant bottle and pouring it over the wound carefully. Ying Yue hissed between her teeth.

"It'll be done in a minute." He expertly opened a sterile gauze pad and placed it gently on top of the wound. Then he cut a few pieces of bandage tape.

Seeing him being attentive caused her lips to curve up and she sought to instill the memory of Fei Huangjin dressing her wound carefully, much like an actual doctor. She cocked her head to the side and watched her future husband secure the gauze pad on her palm with some bandage tape, and before she knew it, he had already finished and was now patting the top of her hand gently.

The other man in the room cleared his throat. Su Jianjun had a polite smile on his face, looking interestingly at the pair before him. "The ruthless CEO Fei Huangjin seems to be quite the opposite with his secretary."

"She's my fiancé." He declared, causing Ying Yue's cheeks to be tinged pink at the abrupt way he said it.

"Oh." Su Jianjun was still smiling, but this time, he trained his eyes to focus on Ying Yue.
