I don't want to know

By the time Fei Huangjin got back to the office, Ying Yue had already called the auxiliary team to clean up the mess on his office floor, and she was directing them looking like she was the boss, with one hand on her hip and the bandaged one against her chest. She looked like she actually should be a boss, rather than just secretary.

Her lips were like the lush pink blossoms of spring, dancing along with the wind, as they moved along to the orders she spoke.

He felt the sudden urge to pull her into his arms and tell her that she can only be his, but instead, he stopped in the doorway as Su Jianjun's words replayed annoyingly inside his head.

Treasure your woman. Don't push her too hard. Keep her happy.

It made him a bit upset that he was getting to him. But it also made him question himself for once. Was he actually pushing her too much? He just wanted the best for her, provide for her, solve all her worries, hell, even marry her.

"Ying Yue."

She turned to the doorway, her face gradually lighting up as she saw Fei Huangjin standing there, face as cold and handsome as ever. She saw his lips slightly part, as if he was about to say something, but he pursed them close again as he decided against it.

The corners of her mouth hooked up and she beckoned him over with a bat of her eyelashes. "What are you doing there? Come over here. They're about to finish."

Fei Huangjin again had that ominous feeling as if he weren't in his office, but in hers. He shook it away and walked over, one hand coming up to cup her neck and his lips moving to kiss her forehead.

As if on cue, she blushed.

He looked her over with concern in his eyes. "How's your hand?"

"Better," she remarked.

The auxiliary workers left the room hurriedly, and when the door closed behind them, Fei Huangjin immediately led her to the couch, pulling her along with him as he sat down.

His close hold was clearly meant to make her sit on his lap, but she resisted and pushed his arms away. "I'm not sitting on your lap."

"Why not?" His eyes became frostier than usual.

"Because I don't want to."

He was about to argue that they were going to get married anyway, but then, as if someone installed a loop button in his brain, Su Jianjun's voice rang in his ears again. Don't push her too hard. Fei Huangjin cocked his head and stilled. His jaws clenched and then he loosened his hold on her, allowing Ying Yue to sit beside him instead. "Okay."

Her eyebrows rose and she sucked in her cheeks to stop herself from grinning in victory. She was honestly quite surprised that he gave up on the argument so easily.

Knowing that he was going to bring up how she knew Director Su beforehand, she broached the topic before he could. "About Director Su--"

"I don't want to know." He looked ahead of him, at the shelves across the room, and he pursed his lips in concentration. It wasn't exactly that he didn't want to know, because he damn well wanted to. It was more like he didn't want to hear about the two of them getting together somewhere. He might decide to throw a knife at the man the next time he saw him.

He wasn't the mountain master of the Dragon Club for nothing.

Ying Yue blinked, a bit confused. "Oh." Her eyes travelled to his clenched fists -- his knuckles were already turning white. "Well then, what do you want to know?"

It took him a moment to reply, but when he did, his eyes had already warmed as they gazed at her intensely. "I want to know the kind of ring you want."

"The kind of ring I want?" She was slightly taken aback at the sudden question, and she didn't know what to say.

"I was serious about customizing a ring for you. I'll meet with the Fei family jeweller tonight to discuss specifications. You can get the biggest possible diamond if you want. Just say the word."

A bit overwhelmed, she started to stutter over her words. "I-- I, well, -- I don't know, actually." Its not like she'd ever had the luxury of picking out diamonds before. She usually just picked random cheap accessories that she could use whenever she needed a disguise -- like that ring she flashed at the party when she pretended to be his girlfriend.

He raised his eyebrows. Since when did this woman not know what she wanted? "Or I could call the jeweller now and have him bring a few samples, how about that?"
