Grant me these two things

"Ying Yue…" Fei Huangjin's deep voice sounded sympathetic as he reached over to hold her. Her knees gave way, and she slinked down to the ground with a stream of tears spilling over. Fei Huangjin didn't know what to do. He was so used to the strong and stubborn Ying Yue that this emotional side to her was completely brand new to him. "If there's anything I can do…"

She cried a little louder this time, and she held on to his arms like she would a lifesaver in the middle of the ocean.

The sound of her heaving in between her sniffling and cries of agony echoed in the room. He felt pinpricks in his chest, like something was trying to poke needles into his heart. He held her tighter.

Fei Huangjin carried Ying Yue into his house and laid her on his bed. She had fallen asleep from exhaustion in his office couch, and he left the headquarters with her in his arms.

The gray sheets on his king-sized bed made her porcelain-like skin stand out. It made her look fragile. Her forehead was tensed-up even as she slept, and there were dried-up tears around her eyes and down her cheeks. Gently, he rubbed it off with his thumb.

Ying Yue groaned lightly in her sleep, oblivious of the man who was watching her every movement like a hawk.

"Things at the worst will mend." He whispered, caressing her forehead lightly. And with that, Fei Huangjin left the room, one hand feeling the letter in his suit pocket.

He went straight to his study, locked the door and sat behind his desk, pulling out the envelope addressed to his father, Fei Yangcheng. A glint of something unrecognizable flashed in his eyes as he turned the letter over, examining it carefully. It looked like it had been opened before.

Without hesitating, Huangjin lifted the seal flap, probing its contents. There was a single sheet of paper inside, bearing a very informal, handwritten letter. The way it was crinkled told him his father must have read it before.

"Master Fei,

If you are reading this, it must mean that they had caught on to me before I could start over, and that I have left my sister in the hands of Xu Feng of Juyan Intelligence Agency, like you suggested before.

I know that I have no right to ask any favors from you, especially after I insisted to leave the Dragon Club after my mission with the Jade Circle; but I hope, as a last wish from someone who used to stand behind you no matter what your decisions were, you could grant me these two things:

First, inside this box are documents all related to the Jade Circle -- their members, their operations, secret financers, politicians and businessmen they're on an alliance with, and more. Yes, you never asked me to take these, but their syndicate is as dirty as they are vastly different to the Dragon Club, and I do not want to see them continue to wreak the havoc they cause. I also cannot leave such important things to anyone but you. Master Fei, I believe you are the only one capable of handling this, and that only you can make them disappear.

Second, I ask you to please watch out for my sister. Perhaps I spoiled her a little too much, and she will need help as she grows into a lady. Please check how she is doing once in a while. I cannot bear the thought of her getting hurt without me there.

You once said that caring too much for my sister would be my downfall. Perhaps that is true. After all, the reason I asked to leave the syndicate was to live an honest life with her. But no matter how I look at it, my sister will always come first.

Someday, she might cross paths with you or knock on your door. When that time comes, please treat her kindly.

I am forever grateful for what you have taught me during my time with you, and if the circumstances were different, I would have stayed.

As always,

Ying Shen"
