Why are you doing this?

"Secure this back gate and search within 500 meters into the forest. The master said we have to find her!"

Ying Yue pulled Song Yinan lower behind the thick bushes that lined the outer walls of the property behind the building. A few of the Jade Circle men had convened near them, and they couldn't afford getting caught when they had just gotten out. "Sshh," she whispered. Song Yinan nodded in response.

"Why do we still need her when the master already has the boss of Juyan? Isn't he more valuable than the girl?"

"Don't question the master's decisions! Let's go."

A chill swept through her and she froze. The boss of Juyan? Was that why she heard gunshots? Did Big Boss come to save her? Ying Yue's chest tightened slightly. Big Boss was in Wang Longwei's hands because of her. She owed so much to him, and yet he'd still put his life on the line for her.

Song Yinan noted her stillness and nudged her. "Are you okay?"

Ying Yue jerked at the sudden question, and she shook her head as a lone tear escaped from one corner of her eye. She hastily wiped it off, but Song Yinan already saw it. There was a tense silence between, like the moment when you know you've walked on thin ice, and you hear its cracking sound right before it breaks beneath you, sending you expectedly into the cold water beneath.

"Brother…" She hesitated. "I have to go back--"

"What?" He frowned and tried to dismiss that thought from her head. "No, you can't do that. It's too dangerous, and we've already made it out." He'd seen first-hand how capable she was with fighting and evading, but that didn't mean she was invincible.

However, Ying Yue seemed to have already made up her mind, and she took his hand to wrap it around the gun she had on her. "Stay here. For now, this is the safest place you can be because no one would think you're this close to the back gate. Now, if anyone comes near and figures out your location, shoot them."

"Ying Yue--"

"I have to go." She scrambled out of the bushes in a hurry and disappeared inside.

Song Yinan could only close his eyes in frustration. He didn't understand what was going on, or even why he was here, and neither did he understand how a corporate executive secretary could fight like that. But he didn't have a way out of this other than by following Ying Yue's instructions, and he didn't want to leave her either.

His hand tightened around the gun she gave him.

"Leave us. Search for the girl." Wang Longwei's laughter died down and his eyes focused on the pitiful state of Xu Feng, the 'Big Boss' of Juyan. Such a prestigious man with a reputation in the spy business so well-known throughout the country, and yet here he was, on the ground, his knee blown out and bleeding -- helpless.

Truly, utterly, helpless.

His eyes then moved to that of the man standing behind him, clutching a laptop close to his chest. Wang Longwei's lips remained curved. "You're that guy aren't you?"

"Mmm."

Mo Yiling stepped out from behind Big Boss and walked over to stand beside Wang Longwei. "Where's Su Jianjun?" He asked.

Big Boss' eyes widened as he realized what was going on. He shifted his gaze between Mo Yiling and Wang Longwei, the pieces falling into place in front of his very eyes. Impossible... Mo Yiling had known Ying Yue since she'd arrived. He'd kept her identity a secret all these years. "Yiling, why…" he whispered.

"Ah… I forgot you didn't know yet, did you?" Wang Longwei sighed.

Big Boss ignored him and focused his eyes solely on Mo Yiling, who stared back at him defiantly with no trace of guilt or regret. "Why are you doing this?"

The laptop that Mo Yiling held on to was snapped shut, and he placed it on the desk carefully. Then, he slipped out a gun from his back to aim it through the head of the man he had called Big Boss for so many years. "If you're not going to kill this man then I will," he glanced briefly at Wang Longwei for confirmation, who only replied with a laugh.
