"Su Jianjun was right to strike a deal with you." Wang Longwei seemed to enjoy the exchange, but he placed his hand on top of the gun to lower it. "But you can't kill him yet. Not until the girl arrives."
Mo Yiling's gaze dimmed as he watched the obvious hurt evident on Big Boss' face. How dare he look 'hurt' like that. "Do you think I wouldn't know that you were planning to leave Juyan to Ying Yue?" His voice became rougher and angrier. "I stayed with you since I was a teen, and I built Juyan with you! JUYAN WOULDN'T BE WHAT IT IS WITHOUT ME. I MADE JUYAN WHAT IT IS TODAY. And you have the audacity to think of leaving it to HER?"
Mo Yiling sneered and raised the gun again, aiming this time for Big Boss' other knee. As long as he didn't kill him yet, it'd be fine, right?
BANG!
"Aarrrghhh." The man's groans intensified and he doubled over. Now both of his knees were blown out. The blood on the floor doubled in no time.
Mo Yiling tucked the gun away, satisfied.
The room was filled with both sounds of pain from Big Boss and the amused laughter of Wang Longwei -- two ends of the spectrum rolled into one.
But suddenly, the door opened and Ying Yue barged in, raining bullets on to Wang Longwei and Mo Yiling. Tears were streaking down her cheeks, and her vision was partly blurry because of that, causing her to shoot without aiming properly. But it didn't matter to her; the important thing now was to get Big Boss out of there. She'd heard everything Mo Yiling said from outside the door.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
A bullet grazed Wang Longwei's arm, even as he and Mo Yiling sought cover. He hissed, and both of them pulled out their guns.
BANG! BANG! Click. Click.
She was out of bullets!
"Ying Yue, get out of here now!" Big Boss bellowed.
No. She couldn't just leave him like this!
Ying Yue stepped forward and started tugging at Big Boss. However, he was too heavy for her to carry, and he couldn't stand up because of his knees. She ended up half-kneeling and trying to drag him off the floor with much difficulty.
"I said leave me!"
"No!" She stubbornly refused.
By then, the two other men in the room had realized she had stopped firing, and they freed themselves from the cover to aim their guns at her.
"Finally..." Wang Longwei cocked his gun and grinned, causing Ying Yue to freeze in the middle of tugging at Big Boss on her knees. "Little girl, your big man of a husband is outside trying to save you. I'm sure he's winning and he'll be here anytime now, so I'll just kill you off. At least I get something out of this predicament, huh?"
He knew that with Fei Huangjin's capabilities, he wouldn't be able to escape, and he might even die. With that said, it would be more worth it to kill Ying Yue and put the young master of the Fei family in agony.
Her heavy breaths paused for a moment. Fei Huangjin? He's here?
With a grin, Wang Longwei pulled the trigger.
"Ying Yue!"
BANG!
She stumbled backwards as a weight landed on top of her, and she was momentarily stunned at what just happened -- until she realized what really happened.
"Big Boss?" She poked him gently, too scared to hurt him. "Big Boss???"
He wasn't moving on top of her, and Ying Yue hurriedly scrambled to roll him on to his side.
They say that when you're dying, the beautiful memories of your life flash before your eyes. To Big Boss, the beautiful memories that ran through his mind included meeting his wife for the first time, the birth of their sweet, angelic daughter, and the first moment when Ying Yue stepped out of her room in his house as she freed herself from the sadness of her past.
"Xu Changying," he wheezed. Xu Changying, my sweet daughter, papa will finally see you.
And then Big Boss stopped breathing.
"No! No! Big Boss, no, you can't--- what are you--- no!" More tears broke out from the corners of her eyes like a beaded bracelet that broke its string, as she stared at the blooming patch of red on the left side of his chest. The bullet seemed to have penetrated through his heart. "HOW COULD YOU---!" She wailed, gathering the lifeless body of the man into her arms and rocking him gently.
This was the man who stood by her when she lost everything. This was the man who took her in and gave her a place to stay in the comforts of his own home. This was the man who waited patiently for her to come out of her room, and left her food at the door to keep her nourished. This was the man who turned her into the best spy agent in Juyan.
"Tsk. I wanted to kill him myself." Mo Yiling pursed his lips in displeasure. "Kill the girl already. I can't take over Juyan if she's alive."
Wang Longwei glanced at him and smirked, then shifted his aim to the girl's head. She was still wailing. But to him, these were pleasurable cries to hear. "Say bye," he grinned.
"Bye." A deep voice replied, and Fei Huangjin appeared, standing behind Ying Yue, holding out a gun towards him.
BANG!
