The great Fei Huangjin missed a shot

The wind outside the building howled. The atmosphere outside was a bit odd; it held a buzzing energy with the panting breaths of the Dragon Club men, but it also held the somberness of lifeless bodies on the ground -- half-shut eyes which were never to open fully again.

Inside the building, two gunshots went off together, prompting only a single explosive sound to ring inside the room.

"ACK!"

"AARGH."

Two bodies fell at the same time, but none of which were lifeless.

Wang Longwei hissed in pain, blood seeping out of his right shoulder. His right hand no longer had strength, and he couldn't even lift his arm, which meant that he couldn't pick up his gun to finish off the Fei family's young master. A shame -- truly such a shame. In the last minute, he decided to shift his gun to Fei Huangjin. He should've just shot the girl in the head.

A wheezy laughter bubbled up from his lips, and he sat there on the ground with his eyes crinkling at the corners, amused at the state that he was in. "HAHAHAHAHAHA!" He seemed like he'd lost his mind, and Mo Yiling casually stepped back from the scene, his mind turning gears as he pondered his next possible course of action.

"Huangjin!" Ying Yue cried out.

He groaned in response, and she gently set down Big Boss' body as she crawled over towards Fei Huangjin.

"Idiot," she said amidst her tears.

The gunshot had pierced through his right chest, making it difficult for him to breathe. But his eyes still focused on Wang Longwei from across the room, whose laughter mingled with his own heavy breathing.

"Ahhh, I can't believe the great Fei Huangjin missed a shot. My shoulder, really? Hahahaha!" Wang Longwei taunted. He didn't care anymore.

"I didn't want you to die so easily, Longwei." Fei Huangjin took a few rapid breaths before speaking again. "I wanted you to see how Jade Circle crumbles under your care." He panted again and added, I've sent my men to annihilate every available satellite of the Jade Circle and destroy your trade and prostitution rings. I don't care anymore if the battle is bloody and I lose half of my men, I only care that you live and suffer."

"F*cking asshole!" Wang Longwei exclaimed before laughing again.

"Serves you right for laying a hand on my wife." Fei Huangjin wheezed a little, and Ying Yue cried silently as she took the gun from Fei Huangjin's hands. She didn't like the fact that Fei Huangjin had purposely only debilitated Wang Longwei instead of killing him, but that didn't mean she shared the same sentiment.

"Don't even think about it," Mo Yiling said, eyes blank as he stared expressionlessly at Ying Yue. He pocketed his phone as he kept his gun aimed at her. If the circumstances were different, he'd be on her side, for sure. However, humans were naturally selfish beings. They could only give so much before taking what they believed was theirs. To Mo Yiling, that was Juyan. "Put the gun down or I shoot your lovely husband."

She didn't need to be told twice. Ying Yue gently set the gun on the ground and stared unblinkingly back at Mo Yiling with furious, tear-stricken eyes.

"Now kick the gun away."

She did as she was told, and the gun prattled as it hit the wall.

Wang Longwei's laughter only rang louder in the room, almost masking Fei Huangjin's short, rapid breaths. "Ohhhh Mo Yiling, here's your chance to grasp Juyan in the hands. Kill them both! Kill them both!" He chanted. "Kill them boooooth!"

"Yiling, I treated you like my brother." Ying Yue said quietly. "You don't have to do this."

"Of course you treated me like your brother. You needed me the most in Juyan." He snickered. "I did you unnecessary favors and kept you safe. I even burned your brother's documents when it fell into my hands, and look where it got me." His lips curled. "Stripped off the right to take over Juyan because of your very existence."
