I'll just kill you first

"You…" Her hands around Fei Huangjin tightened. She couldn't even begin to describe how furious she was at the moment. She and Mo Yiling had a pretty good relationship all these years, and she event spent more time talking to him instead of Big Boss.

Moreover, she'd always prided herself with being a decent judge of good character, and she never -- not even once -- thought he could do this.

Fei Huangjin's breaths were more rapid than they were a while ago. He felt too out of breath too talk or move vigorously, and so he settled with putting a palm over one of Ying Yue's hands that held him. He patted it reassuringly as she glanced back at him with those bright, furious, but sad eyes.

He had never felt more useless in his entire life. The gunshot wound to his chest was still bleeding him out, and furthermore, he was having a hard time breathing and was on the verge of being exhausted. Where was that f*cking Guan Ting when he needed him?

Earlier, they'd ran into an army of men guarding the first and second floors, and Guan Ting stayed behind to deal with it as Fei Huangjin ran up to find Ying Yue. When in the world was that stupid idiot going to finish up down there?

Mo Yiling's lips pursed. If he left the pair of them alive, they'd come back to bite him, and if he killed them both, the Fei family might chase him to the ends of the Earth.

But then again, if he killed Wang Longwei, too, who'd ever know that he was the culprit?

He seemed to have made up his mind by then and he shifted his gun to Wang Longwei, who stopped laughing the moment he saw the barrel pointed at his own head, surprise coloring his eyes. Mo Yiling simply lifted up one end of his lips and winked at him. "I'll just kill you first, Mr. Wang. I can't let you live as a witness."

BANG!

Blood splattered against the cherry oak desk behind Wang Longwei, like red paint carelessly projected onto a plain canvas. The bullet pierced through his nose and came out through the back.

At this critical area of the head lies a part of the brain called the brainstem. It's responsible for breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and all the important involuntary functions of the body. If a bullet transects the brainstem, there's no chance of living for anyone.

Mo Yiling was pleased. The crazed look in his eye glinted, and the sight of Wang Longwei's limp body was reflected in them.

BANG!

"ACK!"

The gun on Mo Yiling's hand dropped as he fell to his knees on the cold tiled floor. His hand was shot and was bleeding profusely, and one of his fingers seemed to be dangling at an odd angle. "F*ck!" His face contorted to one of pain before he turned his head to the door. There, standing with a gun, was a man with a scar running through his left cheek.

"YOU F*CKING--"

BANG!

Mo Yiling never got to finish what he was about to say.

"What…. Took you… so… long?" Fei Huangjin had to take rapid breaths in between hissing out the words.

Guan Ting tucked his gun away and bent down to help Fei Huangjin up. "Boss, we'll get you out." His master only replied with a grunt, and he grimaced in pain as Guan Ting lifted him upright. Fei Huangjin glanced at Ying Yue and was about to call her name, but the sight of her at that moment pained him even more.

She was staring at Mo Yiling's body from across the room, her face blank and emotionless. One couldn't tell what she was thinking. But Fei Huangjin could imagine what she must be feeling. In a span of less than an hour, she'd lost two of the men she'd grown to trust over the past six years, and on top of that, she'd learned the betrayal of one of them. He'd be furious himself if that had happened to him, but the hurt that came with it also wasn't something that could be taken lightly.

Ying Yue's arm stretched out beside her and she placed her hand on top of Big Boss' cold fingers.

She'd never feel the warmth of them again.
