Bonus chapter (1)

"Daddy! Daddy! Hug!" The seven-year-old Fei Huiyin greeted Fei Huangjin at the doorway and reached up her arms towards her father.

She was always asking for a hug or a kiss from both parents, unlike her stoic-faced older brother who seemed too mature for his age. However, it was a well-known fact in the family that she didn't usually greet either parent at the doorway unless she happened to have done something…

Huangjin pursed his lips and lifted his daughter up, carrying her as he padded over to the living room. Her small arms wrapped around his neck and she rained kisses on his cheek. He raised a brow at her, "What did you do now, Huiyin?"

Her round, innocent eyes met his gaze and she immediately pouted, as if she was blamed for something she didn't do. "Daddy, how could you say that? I just wanted to hug you."

She sounded a lot like Haocheng these days. Fei Huangjin immediately sighed. He should never have let that brat babysit his kids.

The living room curtains were drawn apart, and he caught sight of his nine-year-old son, Fei Yingjie, reading a book with a serious look on his face. People always remarked that the boy's temperament was very much like Huangjin when he was a child, though he looked more like his mother.

Ying Yue… She'd be home anytime now. He had Mr. Yang pick her up from Juyan.

"…dy! Daddy!"

Fei Huangjin was drawn out of his thoughts, and he looked at his daughter who was pouting at him.

"Daddy, you're not listening to me!" There she went again, making him chuckle. She was imitating her own mother with that statement.

Huangjin planted a kiss on her cheek.

Fei Yingjie glanced at him briefly then nodded at him. "Hello, dad." The boy was so formal that Huangjin already felt a sense of pride by just looking at him.

"Mmm." He sat down beside the boy on the large sofa in the living room and made Huiyun sit between them. "Yingjie, what did Huiyin do this time?"

The little girl looked mortified, glancing between her father and brother. "Daddy! I said I didn't do anything!"

"She took out her air gun and chased the boys in her class with it. They were trying to bully her – not that they were successful." Yingjie answered without even looking up from the book he was reading. "Then she shot one of the boys, and the pellet grazed his face, so a parent came to pose a complaint."

This girl, really… He ran a hand through his hair in frustration.

"Daddy! Didn't you say we shouldn't let anyone bully us?" Huiyin complained.

Her question made Fei Huangjin sigh and internally swear. Fei Huiyun was too violent at her age, that there was often a complaint or two from her school each month. "Yes, but you can't go too far, Huiyin. I can't believe I have to deal with this again..."

Yingjie closed his book and turned to Huangjin with one corner of his mouth lifted up. "Don't worry, dad. They won't bully her again. I already took care of it."

"You did?"

He nodded. "I told the boys in her class that if they complained to their parents again, I'll personally throw them in the dumpsite at the south of the city. Isn't that where you put the bad people, dad?"

Fei Huangjin froze. "How did you—"

"I overheard it from Uncle Guan Ting."

Ah, damn. Well, he couldn't blame Guan Ting, really. At Yingjue's age, he and Guan Ting already started learning the ways of the Dragon Club. Soon, he was going to talk to Ying Yue about bringing Yingjie to the Dragon Club base more often. He patted the boy's head with a naughty grin. "Very good." There was then the sound of a car door slamming up front, and Fei Huangjin's ears perked up. "Your mother's here."
