CHAPTER 3

"Ar-are you sure about that" asked Jason, still shocked.

"yes, this method of identification only shows parents name if they are magical", explained Sharpclaw.

"Now, I need you to wait for a couple of moment, we can't open an account for you before finishing those pending transactions", he tells them and walks out of his office.

"Are you okay Mr. Williams?" asked McGonagall.

"I am fine, I think", he replied slowly.

"I did suspect that they were magical. You see, a childhood friend of my father told me a bit them, how my parents met each other at their boarding school in Scotland, but I couldn't really get any proof. My father too was an orphan and my grandparents on my mother's side died before anyone could find them to take me in after my parent's death", he explained.

"Then it's good now that you know, you have one more thing common with them", she said trying to encourage him a bit.

"You are right," said Jason still deep in thought. Even with having memories of past life, Jason was still an 11-year-old child, a bit mature than rest but still a child and so the unexpected information about his parents shook him a lot.

Taking a deep breath he turns towards the professor and asked: " Do you know anything about them?"

" Sorry, I don't remember much about their school days, I just remember that your father was Ravenclaw and your mother a Hufflepuff", she apologized.

"No it's okay, I didn't even know that much so thank you", he said smiling weakly.

As Jason tried to gather his emotions, Sharpclaw came back with some pieces of parchment.

" It looks like the two transactions at hand are the execution of your parent's and maternal grandparent's will", he said while taking his seat.

"You see, your father was an unspeakable so he was targeted by death eaters during the last war. When the aurors got to the crime scene the house a bit destroyed by what they assumed a bombarda hex, they found your parent's body but couldn't find yours, so you were declared missing. Your maternal grandparents were killed a week later in a raid at diagon alley. Since there were no magical relatives present the case was put on hold till you get your Hogwarts letter." He calmly explain the explained after reading the report.

"Now since you are here the case will reopen, except a visit from aurors, but don't worry, it will just be for formalities sake", he assured.

" Now lets see, according to both the wills, everything they owned is now yours. There is a house that belonged to your grandparents at Godrics hollow which has been kept under a stasis spell with all the personal stuff, books, pieces of jewelry, etc are kept inside their vault which now belongs to you. Since your parent's house is in a muggle neighborhood, only the stuff that is magical in nature have been moved to their vaults and rest of their belonging including the house has been processed by muggle authorities. Now since you are a minor, you have no access to your grandparent's vault and only partial access to your parent's vault. You will get full access to both vaults when you are of age or get emancipated." He explained thoroughly.

"What does the partial access entail?" Jason asked.

"You can withdraw no more than 25 galleons per year from the vault and you can remove anything else with a monetary value less than 10 galleons", he told them. Jason was a bit happy to hear that, since now he had access to his parent's stuff, he could learn something outside the Hogwarts curriculum.

Sharpclaw then gave him a statement of everything in both vaults and asked to sign a few parchments to complete both transactions.

Soon finished with the formalities Jason asked the professor: " am I will eligible for the scholarship?"

Instead of her, Sharpclaw answered him: " yes, this scholarship is available for anyone without a guardian".

"What does it entail?" he inquired.

"All the items on the list you were provided can be billed to Hogwarts and you will be given an additional 10 galleons every year, you can collect them from any teller at front.", he explained.

"That's everything we needed." Said Sharpclaw while collecting all the parchments and then passed the key to his parents vault to Jason.

"You can check the vault later in parent's. Williams, we are getting late, we should hurry" said McGonagall sternly to Jason, then thanked Sharpclaw on her ways out.

"Thank you master Sharpclaw", Jason thanked and quickly followed after the professor.

After they got out of the building, the professor turned to Jason and said:" since I don't need to give you a tour of the alley, we will do this in a quicker way. Why don't go to Madam Malkins to get your school robes, I will get you a trunk and the other items listed".

As Professor McGonagall went to buy other supplies, Jason went to Madam Malkins and waited for his turn.

After 30 minutes or so he had his robes and met the professor who had apparently bought everything except the books and the wand.

" I have bought everything else, now we only will get you your wand and then the books, I left it for last since I thought you would want to buy some extra books", she said to him.

"Not really, I wanted to check my parent's collection first before I buy any new books, least I have multiple copies", he replied.

"In that case why don't you go to Ollivanders and get your self a wand and I will get you your coarse books", she said and then to florish and botts at his nod.

As Jason entered Ollivanders what he saw was a dimly lit room filled with shelves containing what he assumed to be wands. Behind the front desk stood a very old man observing him very closely.

"Welcome to Ollivanders Mr.-" said the man.

" Jason Williams, Mr. Ollivander, I would like to buy a wand, sir," replied Jason.

"Wonderful, come forward Mr. Williams, which is your wand arm?" the old man happily beckoned and asked while taking out a tape which quickly started to measure Jason on its own.

" I am right-handed sir" Jason replied.

Soon the wandmaker came back with a dozen or boxes and out one box pulled out a wand.

" Pine and unicorn hair 11 inches, rigid. Give it a wave" he said handing him the wand.

Jason gave the wand a wave but nothing happened, so put the wand on the counter and Ollivander gave him another wand to try. They went on to trying different wands for 15 minutes with no result. Then he gave Jason a black wand, as he twirled the wand golden sparkles came of it and Jason felt like the wand was singing along.

" Wonderful, walnut and dragon heartstring 12 inches and quite rigid, an unusual combination. Walnut woods tend to go with unicorn hair and phoenix feathers very rarely do they match with a dragon heartstring. Walnut wand tends to seek innovative wielders and dragon heartstring makes aggressive wands but the wand matched you very well", the wandmaker explained.

Keeping the wandmaker's explanation at the back of his mind for future reference, Jason tried to understand the odd situation he was experiencing.

"It's odd, it feels like the wand has accepted me but it is not fully compatible with me", Jason automatically voiced his thoughts very quietly not expecting to be heard. But by the shocked expression on his face, Jason knew that Ollivanders heard him clearly.

"Not compatible you say, curious" the old man wondered.

" why do you think so?" He asked a bit surprised.

Jason panicked a bit and got wide-eyed, unsure of how to explain himself out of this predicament.
