He tried to relax realizing, 'Jezell was right, the young lady makes me feel on edge, but why? Seeing her in the mall for the first time, when she collided into us, it was not planned it was an accident, she seemed to be in a hurry to get somewhere, but why were she smiling even when Jezell was rude by showing her the third finger. No one has ever gotten under my skin like that before and it irritates the hell out of me, then her running in front the car, I know it was not on purpose. I could see she was in pain but why didn’t she say something, someone else might have shouted at me because I was wrong, and why was I so ignorant, I didn’t even know it was her.’

"So dad tells me, dad, do you condone that Petal could sleep around? Is that okay with you and mom?"

Caleb couldn't believe that his father would condone something this serious. And why is it he is behaving as though she is a saint ignoring the fact that she is having extramarital affairs before she gets married?'

"No one is saying that Caleb," his father said in a frustrated tone of voice, let us not degrade her for her shortcoming, no one is perfect. Right now we have to secure what little dignity we have and swallow our pride.

My main concern is her happiness and I have a duty to perform as her father. You are her brother and I need your help now, before later on I might have to bend my head in shame and disgrace."

Caleb knew his father was worried and that he is aware of what Patel is doing, but what choice does he have, she is stubborn and she never takes correction from anyone.

Understanding she is his daughter Caleb said, "I am sorry dad, but I will do what I can to remove the burden, just let me know what you want me to do and I will help in whatever way I can."

"Look son, at this immediate time we are experiencing a slow cash flow, and meeting Petal's dowry will be putting us in a critical position.

Now listen to me, I met a friend today and he has a daughter who isn't married as yet, and they are also in the textile business.

Caleb, I was thinking, maybe if the two of you get married, the dowry that you get will be able to offset Petal's dowry and it would give us something extra that can help keep us afloat."

"Dad, what nonsense are you talking about? Is this why you asked me to come home earlier?" Caleb asked as he was now understanding the real motive behind his father's untimely request.

"Caleb, please try and understand son, you are already thirty-three years and still just fooling around. I have already invited my friend over for dinner this Sunday afternoon, you can get to see the girl and then we could decide from there," his father pleaded.

To Caleb's ear, it sound like his father was not giving him a choice, but he wasn't sure what exactly was his father's plan.

Still looking at his father Caleb asks, "Mom is dad okay, how could we be in a financial situation when the business is reading at a higher peak these last five years? And just this last year it has jumped yet another notch. I will really like to know exactly what is going on?"

Caleb then turns around to face his mother inquiring, he really was trying to understand how the family can be in a financial crisis when he knew that the accounts were reading on the positive side and most of the debts were almost paid. So when did this new financial crisis arise, and why is it he is now hearing about it?'
