CALEB WAITED ANXIOUSLY

When were four the clerks locked the doors and attended to the few customers while Mitch supervise the counting of the cash and the collecting of the bills? When they gathered their things to leave Sarahiah close all her files and just relaxed, knowing when she leaves here she still have to go and visit her mom.

Caleb stands at the mall entrance waiting patiently just to get a glimpse of her when someone grabbed his hand from the back and asked, "What are you waiting here for?" He knew it was Jezell immediately looking down at her.

She was looking radiant, but the desire he used to have for her had vanished. Touching her face hoping this attraction he saw in that young lady will just be a thing but her touch was just a touch. No longing, no attraction no nothing it was just dry.

"I know you would come to my rescue," Caleb answered sweetly.

He heard her laugh, "Caleb, I didn't know you wanted to be rescued but don't worry you know I am always at your side and I am watching your back."

"Yes, about that Jezell, I wanted you to know that my family is having some  discussions about the business, so if you don't see me, I will be busy with the business at the other stores, and besides, I will be making some trip concerning the business."

Hugging his hand she said, "Honey, why are you standing here? I have this strange feeling that you are waiting for someone."

Jezell heard him laugh when he said, "You know me so well and are very observant. Dad asked me to meet someone here at four-o-clock, but it seems like he is running late. I will just stick around for another fifteen minutes and then if he isn't here by then we could leave because I have a few errands to attend to before I go home."

"Caleb, honey, are we going for dinner after?"

"Sorry darling, but I need to get some rest, I am a bit tired."

Jezell noticed him rest the briefcase down between his legs, then removed his jacket as the sweat dribbled down his face, "Caleb, are you feeling unwell?"

"Why do you ask honey?"

"Well, I have never seen you sweat like this before, and I know the sun is not hot, and besides that, we are standing inside an air-conditioned building."

"You are right and very observant as I said before, taking his handkerchief and dabbing his face trying to wipe away the sweat. Just the thought of him seeing the young lady gives him goosebumps.

Recalling yesterday this said time she came boulting through this entrance.

Saying to Jezell, "Maybe, I should check a doctor it seems as though when I get wet yesterday when the accident occurred, it is taking a toll on me now. I haven't gotten sick in a long while, maybe my resistance has dropped.

And this morning when I came to work, when I park my car in the parking lot I had to make a run for it because it was drizzling."
