JEZELL SEEMS TO BE AWARE OF CALEB WHEREABOUTS

With Jezell prattling on, Caleb felt like his head will explode any minute. Being seated with his back facing the roadway and she was sitting opposite him, he realized that nothing missed her eyes.

When she stood up and said, "Look at that, it seems she is working taxi, I now see her heading back to town."

"Jezell, for God's sake will you please settle down and complete your meal, now take some deep breaths and try to relax," seeing she settle down a bit, "Now who on earth are you talking about?"

Caleb notices how angry she becomes, when she takes another deep breath to calm her nerves, "Caleb, I am talking about the woman that was driving the BMW that almost hit you. I saw her picture in the newspaper last week."

"Okay, so what has that to do with us? And she didn't hit my van so what is it that has you so riled up about? you know celebrities are always flaunting themselves in the TV and papers."

"She is not a celebrity Caleb, she was discussing the dowry that a girl's parents have to give to the groom's family before their daughter gets married. Caleb, if the two of us elope there wouldn't be the need for a dowry, talking about that, whatever happened when the family had their meeting?"

"There wasn't anyone to have a meeting with, but from what dad said the groom's parents decided that Petal's wedding is set for October."

"Dear God, I will get grey by then."

"What is wrong with you Jezell? you are beautiful so stop being ridiculous."

"Caleb, honey, why don't we just elope and forget about everybody and everything?"

"Sorry honey, I am expecting a sale for the store within the next week, I have some heavy bills to clear out."

Caleb heard her stupes, "So why can't your brothers do that?"

"Sorry, they cannot."

"Caleb, then let your dad, handle the business, I am sure he wouldn't mind doing it and we could go far away."

"You are right, give me a few days to think about it."

"Seriously, you will go?"

When his phone rang he grabbed it quickly, answering, he hoped his dad didn't get sick again, standing up he said, "Let us go."

"Caleb, was your dad unwell a few weeks back?"

"Yes, he got a heart attack two weeks ago."

"Was that why you were at the hospital?"

Caleb looked at her, "Yes, what do you think?"

"Well honey, I thought you were following that girl."

"Who are you talking about now Jezell?"

"You know, the one we collided into at the mall about three weeks ago."

"Was she at the hospital? Well, who cares, if she was there I wouldn't recognize her anyhow." Once more when his phone rang he answered, "Yes mom, I am almost home, just don't panic." Stopping at Jezell's entrance, "Well, I will see you in a few days."

"Yeah, bye."

Driving to the bakery getting the bread his mom requested, together with some pastries that look delicious then went home.

Pondering about the words Jezell said, 'Was she testing me to see if I am lying to her? And how did she see me at the hospital? Did she have someone following me, that could be the only way she would know that I was at the hospital?'

Then a thought flashed through his mind, 'If she is so informed how is it she wasn't aware that dad was sick and warded three days? I should have asked her if she see who the young lady was visiting, but then she might get curious and ask questions, also I have to be very careful.'

Sitting alone with her drink and burger, she was halfway through when her phone rang, picking it up seeing it was Jerod, "Yes Jerod...Yes, I am fine...Is dad okay?... I know, but I need a few extra days...Okay, so take him by Matt or Joshua...Look, I have been taking care of them, so what is a few days again...Yes, yes, I know, it's been a week since I left, you don't need to remind me, but I need a few days and I already paid...Okay, I should be home by Wednesday," lying on the floor working out the books.

Monday morning she stopped by A and S Store, knowing she had some bills to pay and to stop by the bank. Entering the store hearing Mitch saying, "I thought you were taking another week?"
