Fifty Seven

Sarahiah drove slowly thinking, 'If only I knew who was following me, and why? I haven't given anyone a bad drive and I treat all my employees and customers well.'

She went back in her mind trying to figure out why would someone want to, but then the thought struck her, 'Are these the same people who was following mom? Maybe they are watching the house.'

Sarahiah drove into the street but there was no strange vehicle parked in any hide out or any out of the way spot. 'Thank God dad is safe, and why would someone say they holding dad as a hostage? Is it a prank call to scare me? But if not, then who is it they are holding and why? And why were they watching the house and following my car? Oh my God, this is so confusing and I am scared. Lord there are so many questions and not enough answers or explanation.'

On the way to return home Sarahiah had the radio on, when they opened the prayer line for people to call in and prayer she listened and agreed with them, a few times she stopped and closed her eyes, then continued driving.

The way she was feeling, 'If I had lied down next to him I know it would have just disturb his rest, and I needed some time to think through things and get some fresh air.'

Sarahiah parked in the garage, locked the gate, then the door and went to their room. Caleb seemed to be resting comfortably and she was tempted to go and lie next to him on the bed.

'I might disturb his rest,' she thought, so she took her bible from the head piece and sat quietly by the table knowing she was still not sleepy. Sarahiah read her bible, then prayed and memories just unfold of her childhood days with her parents.

She was unable to hold back the tears, so she just allowed it to flow, 'Ohhh we had such happy days.'

Sarahiah remembered hearing her dad praying in the hospital, he asked for forgiveness of things knowingly and unknowingly, 'I knew then that he didn't do anything to put our lives in danger. He and mom had loved the Lord, if only a miracle could take place over his body, but he is very weak, his limbs could barely move now. If he last two days again I will be so grateful and thankful, the way how weak he is.'

In the last visit she left her new number with the doctor just in case the boys were working. Sarahiah kept hearing everybody saying, 'It's a part of life, and I must embrace it, but how do I start doing that. I am going to be an orphan, and whoever is blackmailing me by claiming to kidnap him must be thinking I am some kind of dimwit.'

Sarahiah cried as she rested her head on the table and whispered words of prayer silently.
