Fifty Eight

"Lord, if you are not going to grant him a miracle and bring him back whole, then release him from this pain. The memories we both shared will have to keep me, I just don't want if the pain is unbearable that he curses you Lord, at least he will be with mom. Please give me the strength to accept this as your will, You said your grace is sufficient for me, so Lord, give me your grace, your strength and your courage to endure this time of hurting, comfort my soul, I ask this in Jesus name amen.'

Caleb found her asleep with her head resting on the bible on top the table when he awaken and his insides churned with anger, bitterness and rage. He then realized, 'She rather sleep here than on my bed.'

Caleb walked away feeling hate for her rejection that was boiling within, 'She used me to get what she wanted, well, let me see how long she will avoid sleeping in my bed.'

He stepped out the washroom and collided into her, "Sorry, sorry, good morning," Sarahiah said.

Caleb shifted aside for her to enter the restroom, he heard her asking, "How did you sleep?" He ignored her question, "Caleb, are you listening to me?"

"Uh, huh."

"Boy, I wish I could sleep like you, I was feeling so stifled that I went for a drive. I didn't fall asleep until after four this morning. I know if I had lied down on the bed, my turning might have disturbed your rest."

While dressing Caleb said nothing as he saw her hurry and dressed, she then took her briefcase, her purse and then slipped her feet in her shoes.

Her cream suit looked lovely, just like a professional business woman. When Sarahiah called for him to bring her phone he took his briefcase and slipped his phone in his pocket, then took hers and stepped out the room, then locked the door.

Sarahiah and Caleb watched his parents, sister and Aunty Zelda drive out first while waving as they left, then they followed after locking the gate.

A few times Caleb glimpsed in Sarahiah's direction, only to return his attention to his driving and continued to enjoy the feel of the new vehicle.

Sarahiah slanted a quick glimpse his direction and wondered, 'Have I done something wrong? He seems overly quiet,' Sarahiah then asked, "Caleb, is something wrong?"

"Should there be?" he answered her and glimpsed at her once more.

"I was wondering, you seem very quiet this morning."

"Talking about that, I was thinking we should go to store two, then after lunch we will visit store three."

"Whatever you want, I am just going there to help in whatever way I can."

Caleb thought that with her in the store it would be a good opportunity to avoid having any conversations.

When they reached store two Sarahiah left her bag inside the van and said, "There's no need to take it inside. I will only keep my phone."
