Sixty Four

Caleb read the dates, 'This money began coming in from the day we started working in store two. Did the courier bring this together with the files?' Caleb fixed it back the best he could so she won't know that he had seen it, then he went in search of her.

Caleb went to the garage, the van wasn't there so he returned inside thinking, 'She must have taken the bag from the wardrobe or the cash she had under her bed and write the dates for payments that had to be transacted,' but when he took down the bag it had the same amount of cash after they bought the vans and given to his mom for the vacation.

Caleb bent under the bed and pulled out the box with the things she had taken the night from the safety box, the cash was just as she had rest it. "Dear God, where did she get that money from? Is she a custodian for all that cash for the company she is working for? I must speak with her to secure it, if Petal gets her hands on that, I don't have sufficient cash to replace it."

Caleb secured the ones from the box and placed it in a plastic bag, he leveled it at the bottom just as she had and then sealed it the same way, then he placed it on top the wardrobe.

'This is the only two things that belongs to her that she has left in my room, all her other belongings she has taken downstairs,' he thought.

Caleb had only just reached downstairs when he heard the van drive on, he went to her and saw that she had her bible under her arms and two market bags with vegetables.

"Let me help you with that," Caleb said as he took the bags from her into the kitchen, he returned to tell her to secure her belongings but he stopped suddenly.

Caleb saw the wig on the bed, 'All this time she was wearing that ugly wig and she heard hoe I felt and never said a word?' How could she conceal this when everyday for the last two weeks we went to work and return home? This is to show how much she trust me, and where the hell has she disappeared to? If she could keep secrets, then I can certainly do the same.'

Caleb noticed the shoebox from the table missing, 'Is she aware that I have seen it and has hidden it from me?' he thought then left the room only to hear her phone ringing, he looked to see if she was coming to answer it but it stopped and she didn't come.

When it started to ring again Caleb went and took it out from her purse and pressed talk to answer but then the person said, "Sarah where are you?"

"I am sorry, but Sarah is not here right now."

"Are you her brother?" the person asked.
