Seventy Eight

Two weeks after her father died, it was Nevil thanksgiving service and his mom insisted that they all went in one vehicle. Sarahiah wasn't feeling well with all the crying, vomiting and dizziness she was experiencing. Caleb told his mom that they would come, but his mom's stubbornness was worse than Sarahiah's.

The arrived for the thanksgiving and the outfit Sarahiah had put on was displeasing to his mom, so she went up to his room to change. Though matter what Sarahiah did, it did not seem to please his mom. Caleb couldn't seem to figure it out, and Sarahiah had done so much for his family, but nothing was good enough.

Sarahiah may not be in his room, but since her dad's death, she didn't lock the room because he entered to ensure that she at least drank something, because every time she eats something it comes out. Sometimes she cried in his arms, a few times she fell asleep while he was comforting her, and that was the only way they slept together. 'I love her so much, why can't mom understand she is hurting and she is not well?'

When his mom said, "This is her plan, she wants us to be late."

"Mom, you can go ahead, we will come. You know she is not feeling well, so what is the big fuss with us going in the same vehicle?"

"This has been her plan all along, but she is not going to get her way, you hear me."

"Mom, why do you hate her so much? She have been trying to please you, the only thing is, she don't eat dinner with us, she cookd and help clean. What is it you really want from her?" He saw his mom frown, "Okay, I will go and hurry her up, if that will make you happy, but for God's sake, please stop the quarrelling."

Caleb was about to go up when he saw her come out the room, locking the door, "Look you see, she is done, let us go."

When the gate bell rings, his dad went to open it and Caleb heard him saying to his mom, "Margret please, don't tell the child anything, her family is here."

"Now we will be late, I told you this is her plan, maybe she went and call them, that's why she had been delaying."

"What nonsense mom, look here is her phone and mine, so where will she call from?" Before Caleb could say another word a scream came from behind him, causing him to turn around to see her rolling down the last two steps of the stairs. "Oh my God, Sarahiah," he said running to her, but she was already at the bottom of the stairs with her head bleeding.

Caleb kneeled before her, "Honey open your eyes please," but then Jerod came and without saying anything, he took her up from his lap and rushed out the door to his car. All Caleb heard was when he called out to Matt to call the Police Ambulance, then he sat on the back seat. Caleb couldn't say anything because Jerod was crying and shouting to Alana to drive.

When they left, Caleb returned to the house with tears in his eyes, "I hope you are satisfies now, you know she wasn't well, she was so weak not eating and sleeping after her father's death, but you kept pushing and pushing."
