Medicine and witchcraft

Three week passed, Eleanor had a long discussion with Cain on their last meeting and since then she often visited his office and garden. As much as he learned a lot from Eleanor's knowledge, it was the same for her. In the human territory there was a lot of medical herbes that she only saw on book at Elheim. So everything was new to her and she was excited to see more, that made Cain who love medicine happy to share his knowledge. And they spent a lot of time together those three week.

"Why is this herbe withering like that." asked Eleanor with a worried look on her face.

"Ahhh...this one, sigh it is sad to lose her but she doesn't seem to adapt to her surrounding. That's why she is dying right now." He said while writing on a book and then continued,

"I always change her surrounding and see how she adapt but the result is each time worst. So I write a review about it. Maybe someday we might find a way to grow more of them."

"What is this herbe's name? and what is her benefit?"

"It is called Fluitis Mias, it is a really rare herbe that is good for heart diseases."

"Oh, then we must grow more of them..."

"Yeah, but the problem is there, it is really difficult to cultivate it and finding it is even more difficult. That's why I will be troubled if this one doesn't survive."

"Humm..."

'Now that I think about it I saw this herbe in the witch book but I thought that it wasn't really important so I didn't read much of it.' She thought, then stood up and said before leaving the garden,

"I have to do some research about this flowers, I will come back tomorrow..."

"Wait, Lea you don't need to...." he said but she already left the garden and ran enthusiastically toward her palace. He smiled and returned to his work.

'I am sure, I saw it in the book. Maybe it could help and show us a way to grow it out of her natural habitat.' She opened the book on her study and flipped through the pages.

The door knock and then Anne and Miel came in, they came with a set of tea and sweets that they put on a table beside the sofa.

"Miss Lea please take a break, these days you are only studying." Began Miel while serving a cup of tea for her. Then Anne followed and said,

"Yes, you even missed our outing the last time...so this time you have to come with us and now can you put down your pensil and come drink your tea?"

Seeing how worried they got, Eleanor put down her pensil, shut her book and sat on the sofa to try the sweet and tea. After taking a spoon of chocolat cake she said,

"I am sorry about that, I was so immersed in the doctor's report that I forgot about it."

"That's okay miss Lea, it wasn't so fun anyway." Said Miel while putting sugar on Eleanor's tea.

"Thanks Miel, but why didn't you have fun?"

"Well, our dear Elise got drunk so we had to return quickly....and it was difficult to get out of the palace, this girl need to do my share of work for at least one more month." Anne uttered in anger and took a cookie.

"Hehe! Is that her punishment?! still, it is unfortunate that you couldn't enjoy more the festivity." Said Eleanor as she took her cup of tea to her mouth.

"Yeah, but fortunately it is possible to go for the last day of the celebration." Anne returned to her energetic state as she continued,

"It seem like the celebration will end tomorrow since the emperor will be back so we can sneak out and enjoy it."

"Wait, did they celebrate for the whole three week?!" while saying that, Eleanor looked at them with her blue eyes wide from astonishment at that thought.

Anne burst in laugher, Miel smiled and said,

"No, they can not celebrate for that long but they do it for three day after his highness's birthday and three day before he return back from the tour around the empire. The last day of the celebration is when the citizens can see him."

"I see." she blushed from embarrassment and continued,

"So he will be back tomorrow....I...yes I will go with you this time." she smile at them and continued drinking her tea. Her face though became depressed as she hear of his return.

'Thanks to sir Cain's presence, I learned a lot and worked with him on a dozen of medicine. I could forget about Francis and my trouble. But now I will have to face it and I am not ready, I don't even know what I feel. Alphonse did a good work in making me confused about my feeling.' Anne's words pulled her from her thoughts,

"Yeah, that's a great idea Lea, you seem to be working too much these days and spending a lot of time with the imperial doctor. You stirred the hate of his disciples who are jealous of you and think that it is unfair to them, when a nobody like you take so much of sir Cain's time."

"Well, I don't really care about what they think since he is the one who asked me to come to his office every time I wanted. He learn a lot from my knowledge that's why I take so much of his time, I don't learn from him, he does, most of the time. Tell that to those disciples if they complaint."

"Ohhh, I will make sure to tell them, that will make them shup up, those arrogant idiots." Said Anne with a mishevious smile on her face.

"Thanks for the tea time girls, I really needed to take a break. But now, I have to get back to work, I need to look for something."

"Very well miss Lea, we will get you dinner later. Good luck with your work, let's go Anne!"

Miel cleared the table with the help of Anne and they left while reminding her of tomorrow's outing. Eleanor smiled to them and promised to not forget about it.

After they left she looked through the witch book and found the page related to the fluitis mias. She was reading the information written about it with a lot of concentration. 'Like I thought this is really about this herbe, it specify the herbe's benefit and the way to use it. Ah! there! it say that this herbe can't grow without another herbe by it side. the finus herbe it is a common herbe that peoples take from fatigue.'

"I see, so when we grow the finus herbe beside the fluitis mias, it help her by spreading it fragrance in the ground and nurture the fluitis herbe. So this is the only way to grow it, hein...No wonder they could cultivate it. Nobody would think about associating those two herbes." She mutered to herself but was happy to discover it and wrote that information on a paper for Cain. 'But I will need to find an excuse to explain how I discovered this solution. Well, I will just say that I remembered what was written on a book at my hometown. That should do.' She thought and continued to write. It was only in these moments when she was busy working that she could forget about her worries concerning Francis and Alphonse. But she will have to face them soon since the emperor was returning to the palace the next day. 'I should just tell him that I agree with him, that it was only a longing that lasted for a moment.' Those thoughts were hurting her but she was too confused to guess what her heart was telling her.
