Who were they referring to?

"Who were they referring to?" Jason couldn't help but question the conversation they just heard.

"Isaac, do you know anyone who might be able to help the Wang Corps in their current financial situation? Was there anything weird or seemed out of place when you were still working for Wang Corps? Maybe financial documents or some projects that hold high importance?" Alfred asked Isaac, who was in a daze after hearing the whole conversation.

"No. The documents were fine from what I remember. Because I had connections back then, I helped with many small projects that generated enough profits to last the company from going bankrupt. However, after I left, I also influenced other companies to withdraw their investments. The Wang Corps should be going bankrupt by now.." Isaac shook his head as he failed to recall anything suspicious before he quit Wang Corps.

Suddenly, the shared screen from Jason's screen turned pitch black. "Huh? What's wrong?" At first, Jason thought it was his device that malfunctioned. However, as soon as he moved his cursor around and tried hacking into the surveillance cameras again, he realized something amiss.

"The surveillance cameras were cut off. Either there was something wrong with the power or someone deliberately cut it off. How long will it take for the others to get to Madam Wang?" Jason checked the time on his laptop.

"Michael is on his way. The route he took was different from the others, so he didn't get stuck in traffic. He should be there in the next ten to twenty minutes!" Alfred answered after receiving responses from Michael.

"Shit! Is there anyone we can have to keep watch on Madam Wang? If anything happens to her in this sudden power outage or surveillance camera malfunction, we won't be able to do anything!" Jason cursed at the thought of Grandpa Lun's disappearance.

"...Nevermind. Michael's route was blocked due to a traffic accident just now. They are all stuck." Alfred stuttered as he shared his screen with the different routes that were affected by traffic.

"This is too much of a coincidence. Someone must have planned to have the roads blocked. There is no way there could be traffic on almost every damn route! But who could it be?" Jason gritted his teeth in annoyance. Who could be this sure about their moves?

- Prison Cell -

"Aye. We were a step too late." Number 2 whispered, shaking her head sideways as she and Number 1 observed Madam Wang's corpse hanging from the ceiling. Her lifeless body swayed lightly, but the body was still warm.

"The man must have just left. Let's-" Number 1 wanted to chase after the murderer, but Number 2 pulled him back.

She whispered, "Are you crazy? Our mission is to prevent her death, but we came too late. She's already dead. Look at her! Watch those guards tell the world that she committed suicide and there is nothing suspicious about her death after this. It is so obvious that there are that person's people amongst the guards here. Even if the person isn't a guard, the person must have been a staff member."

"Look at us. We aren't even a staff, yet we climbed in through the window." Number 1 tried arguing, however, he also knew this was not a part of their mission. Since Madam Wang already stopped breathing, their mission cannot proceed.

"But damn! Look at the way she died! Her saliva is leaking out of her mouth and her tongue is stuck out too. Her eyes rolled back as if she's trying to inspect her brain. I mean she is quite brainless for the awful choices she made. She died looking as if she was having her last orgasm and had a heart attack from the shock."

Number 2 couldn't help but comment on Madam Wang's expression before she died. On the other hand, Number 1 sighed and facepalmed at the girl who still had the mood to joke around a failed mission.

"Let's go before anyone finds us then. We wouldn't want to be implicated and get caught when we were supposed to help protect her and not let her get harmed." Number 1 suggested, grasping Number 2's wrist and pulling her back to the open window from where they entered.

When the two exited the police station, they failed to notice Antonio watching from a distance. His eyes narrowed as his attention focused on the two figures. 'What are they doing here?' He thought inwardly but didn't have time to think because he had already begun following them.

Shortly after Number 1 and Number 2 left the police station, Michael arrived. He rushed out of his vehicle and didn't even bother parking his vehicle properly. "Excuse me, I am here to visit someone!"

"Young man, visiting hours is already done for today. Come back tomorrow. We can't let you in." One of the officers stood up from his seat, refusing to permit Michael to visit Madam Wang.

"No. Something bad will happen if you don't let me see her! She is in danger! She might be killed by the time I see her tomorrow. I just need to spare 2 minutes with her! This is related to the kidnapping case from today! She is a part of this! She-" Michael tried persuading the officer to allow him in. However, his efforts were useless against the strict rules the officer abided by.

An urgent panicked voice interrupted Michael's sentence. "Yo! That Wang woman hung herself in the cell! She committed suicide. I checked her pulse and she is a goner. We need to file a report on this!" An officer hurriedly adjusted the collar part of his uniform while gasping for air. He rushed over as soon as he saw her corpse dangling in midair.

"Fuckin-" Michael slammed his tightened fist against the counter surface in front of him. He pulled out his phone and informed the other guys who were waiting for the most updated news.
