Kindred

"Tsk, seriously that guy is so pain in the head." Penelope murmured to herself as she angrily jabs the paper repeatedly. Dana saw this from her side and shocked at the scene. She gently taps the former's shoulder and asked what's wrong.

"It's just that the guy I met a week ago. He is so annoying." And continued to her doing. Dana just sighed and holds her hand to stop her. "Okay, who is this guy, you are so angry about? Hmm. I guess you like him that's why you're acting like that." She teased that makes Penelope blushed in return. She adamantly refutes her assumption as Dana just shrugged her off.

"Whoever the guy is Loffie, don't let yourself get attached to him. You never know who actually he is." Which Penelope nodded in response.

....

"What took you so long??" Trevor grumpily said as he sat in a big tree near the river. Penelope just noticed that this tree is different from the rest. She sat beside him and unpacks her lunch and shared it with Trevor. It's been a week since they've known each other yet she still doesn't know who he is. After their first encounter, the guy explained himself why he did that and the reason is he is just that clingy. Seriously? And unbeknownst to the both of them, they are constantly meeting each other. I mean Penelope doesn't know why but it feels like her feet are taking her there or it is her heart who is demanding to go after him. Is it possible to be in love at first sight?

There was a pregnant pause before Penelope spoke up. "It's been a week since we've met each other, but still I don't know anything about you. Can you at least talk about yourself?" she tried and luckily Trevor replied.

"I'm Trevor Lee, 20 years old. A delinquent, that's why I'm always here in the forest instead of in a classroom. Happy?"

"Still quite enough, how about your parent? Aren't they worried about it? About you?'

"Tsk, Why would they? They never care in the first place. My dad left us when I was a kid and my mum? She's always busy with her new boyfriend." Suddenly Penelope regretted asking questions about him, so she apologized but Trevor just ignored it.

"It's okay, typical rough childhood."

"I think yours is similar as mine too, my parents are always away for business trips. Just like right now, they never care about me too."

"Huh, our life is so sad." Then there was this awkward pause between them until Penelope started asking a question again.

"How come the teachers are not looking you? And also, how come I don't often come across you at school not until now I guess."

"What's up with the questions? You're so nosy, aren't you?" Trevor said and ate the half-shared lunch from Penelope. Penelope just popped her cheeks, and arm crossed, turned her back to him.

"Tsk, if you are that curious enough, fine. Whatever makes you happy. Yes, I always skipped classes, so you don't always see me at school and the teachers don't even bother anyway." Then they continued to eat their lunch. As days go by, Penelope's curiosity becoming bigger and bigger. She happened to talk to some of them. That makes Penelope's curiosity grow stronger. Who is he? And what happened to him? Yet she enjoyed his company so much. Whenever she always meets him up in their favorite spot. Trevor always had something to make her happy even though sometimes it makes Penelope irritated but still the young lady feels home and ecstatic whenever she is with Trevor. Is this love already? Weeks turn into months as Penelope's feeling is getting stronger. Time flies surely fast when you really enjoy each other's company.

On those days, she found out that Trevor was a cheeky guy, constantly making old-fashioned jokes, like trying to impress her which Penelope only laughed in delight. Trevor is kind of a egotistical guy too, one time she saw him looking at his reflection on the river and admiring how handsome he is. Penelope levelled her eyes at the scene and smacked him in the head. But definitely she found out Trevor is a smart guy, smart means in he is kind of a nerd. He loves science and how he was enthusiastic when he explains something in science with Penelope. Well, Penelope loves science too, so they immediately click with each other.

What she likes more about Trevor is that his little gestures, he is so cute when he is biting his thumb in a deep thought or when his eyes turn into crescents as he smiles and laughs or when his hands are flying around when he is excited.

Yet, one time when they are together. Trevor just blurted something out of the blue saying that he was once an honor student but later on decides to leave all behind. If he is an honor student how come the teachers doesn't recognize him? Something is wrong, Penelope concluded, and she wants to find out.

"Are you going meeting that guy again?" Dana stopped her before she could go to the forest. Penelope confronted her and creases her brow. "Yeah, why?"

"No, I ask you. Why? You are always too cope up about him. I am starting to get suspicious here Loffie. Who is he?"

"It's none of your business, Dana! And Don't fucking meddle with me." Dana was shocked by what she stated, completely off guard at the sudden outburst. Loffie you are better than this."

"I'm sorry Dana but I have to go."

"If that makes you happy, Loffie..."

...

"Hmm. You are a little down today? Did something happen? My jokes don't work either." Trevor pouted, which found Penelope cute. This guy really knows how to make me laugh.

"Now you're smiling! Well, that's better than having a zombie Loffie!"

"Why do you know my nickname?"

"Huh? I just overheard it one time on of your friends."

"Oh, that's Dana. She always cares about me. I know she is just worried, but sometimes she is too intrusive makes me irritated."

"I don't know what you're talking about, but you're noisy. Just like that time when you are asking me so many questions!"

"Hey! That was just a curiosity and nothing else!" again, Trevor pouted and sat beside her.

"Can you go out with me, Trevor?" Penelope blurted out which makes Trevor looked at her with wide eyes. Trevor opened his mouth to say something but falters and closed it. Trevor didn't reply or respond. "Trevor?" and again Trevor didn't respond.
