I Don’t Like to Be Kept Waiting V

In a corner of her wardrobe, there were also a few pieces in other colors.

Gu Qingcheng walked toward these clothes and looked them over. Eventually, however, she still picked out a long dress, in blue, and put it on.

Truth be told, she would've loved to be like so many other young women and wear clothes in white, pink, or beige, or to go shopping wearing something in an outrageously bright red. However, in order to humor Tang Shi, she had no other option but to keep wearing blue. To satisfy her own desires, she would, in the dead of night when no one was looking, wear clothes in other colors and admire herself in the mirror.

It took about two hours to drive from the Gu family home to the Red Garden Resort Village. Worried about getting caught in heavy traffic or any other unexpected incidents, Gu Qingcheng was on the road before six o'clock.

It was just eight o'clock when she arrived at the Red Garden Resort Village.

As was usual, the Red Garden Resort Village was closed to the public on the days when they visited. With no customers using the resort, the extensive village seemed quiet with only a handful of employees working in the grounds.

Probably because Tang Shi had called ahead, the resort manager had, upon being notified of her arrival, summoned a tour buggy that brought him to the reception area to welcome Gu Qingcheng personally. The manager then traveled with her to the Presidential Suite, which was located at the far end of the village.

The Red Garden Resort Village had once been known as the Royal Forest. When the Tang family had bought the Royal Forest, they had had the resort village built within its grounds.

Although it had been three years since she'd been here, the resort village had remained the same. It had long roadways spanning the blue lake, handsome pavilions surrounded by balconies, whispering willows and flowers that all formed a scenic landscape that seemed to be timeless.

On the other hand, the Presidential Suite that Gu Qingcheng and Tang Shi had stayed in whenever they came to the resort village had been renovated, with its previously white walls now painted red.

Using the access card, the resort manager unlocked the door for Gu Qingcheng and asked respectfully, "Miss Gu, will you be needing anything else?"

Shaking her head, Gu Qingcheng did a quick survey of the interior, noting that the decor was exactly the same as before, with the exception that everything was brand-new.

Handing Gu Qingcheng the access card, the resort manager said politely, "Well then, please have a rest, Miss Gu. I will take my leave now. Please call reception if you need anything."

"Okay, thank you." Gu Qingcheng nodded and smiled at the resort manager..

Giving her a little bow, the resort manager left the room and pulled the door shut.

Gu Qingcheng was now alone in a Presidential Suite that was enormous. There were crystal chandeliers that radiated a dazzling brilliance that complemented the luxurious setting of the room, creating a sense of mystique and fantasy.

Gu Qingcheng went first into the room where she had always stayed whenever she'd visited the resort. Standing by the window, she could see the Ming Lake, reflecting the myriad lights of the resort village, a truly magnificent sight.

Gu Qingcheng stood there for a long time before turning around to walk out of the room. Then, standing by the door of another bedroom, her face turned a tad pale.
