Get Out of My Sight! VI

At the end of the day, just before the time to get off work, Gu Qingcheng ran into Cheng Xieyi in the bathroom, as Cheng Xieyi was washing her hands at the sink.

Speaking into the mirror that framed both their faces, Cheng Xieyi said, "Qingqing."

Gu Qingcheng smiled and greeted her in return as she was preparing to walk into one of the booths. Pausing suddenly, as though she had remembered something, Gu Qingcheng looked at Cheng Xieyi, who was just about to leave the bathroom, and said, "Xieyi?"

Cheng Xieyi stopped, turned around, and looked at Gu Qingcheng, asking, "What is it?"

In the past, when they had been young girls at school, it had always been other people who would pester Gu Qingcheng about Tang Shi all the time, resorting to any means necessary to get some information about him. Now, unbelievably, the day had come when she, Gu Qingcheng, had been relegated to the status of these other people, trying to get information about Tang Shi from someone else.

It was especially humiliating that she was forced to ask this person, who knew that Gu Qingcheng had once had a very close relationship with Tang Shi.

Hesitating briefly, Gu Qingcheng asked, "Xieyi, I was just wondering why I haven't seen CEO Tang these last few days that I've been here working?"

Since Cheng Xieyi had been promoted quite a while ago from assistant secretary to secretary, she was fully aware of Tang Shi's schedule. Thus, when Gu Qingcheng asked her that question, she responded without hesitation, "CEO Tang is on a business trip to Hong Kong. He is expected back this afternoon."

Gu Qingcheng looked at Cheng Xieyi and responded with a smile, "Thank you."

After which, she turned and walked into a booth.

When she was finished, Gu Qingcheng opened the door of the booth and walked toward the sink, adjusting her skirt.

She had barely taken two steps when she heard a mocking laugh coming from behind her. She frowned. Then she heard the sneering voice of Feng Yiyi saying, "Gu Qingcheng, why were you so eagerly begging Cheng Xieyi for information about CEO Tang's whereabouts? What are you up to?"

From Feng Yiyi's words, Gu Qingcheng knew that she had overheard the conversation she had just had with Cheng Xieyi.

After all these years of knowing her, Gu Qingcheng didn't underestimate Feng Yiyi's skills of turning lies into truth, making mountains out of molehills, and fabricating stories to suit her needs. And she was positive that Feng Yiyi hadn't improved much.

So, keeping her eyes lowered, Gu Qingcheng completely ignored Feng Yiyi. Elegantly and calmly, she turned on the faucet and began to wash her hands.

Feng Yiyi laughed as she saw Gu Qingcheng, obviously the target of her taunt, remaining composed, her expression inscrutable. Sashaying across the room to stand next to Gu Qingcheng at the sink, Feng Yiyi also turned on the faucet at the adjoining sink and began to wash her hands too. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Gu Qingcheng, she said in a nasty voice, "Gu Qingcheng, I heard that, three years ago, you offered yourself to Shi, and when he dumped you afterward, you ran away to the UK."

What had happened at that time wasn't known to most people. However, that didn't mean that Feng Yiyi didn't have her sources from which she could get any information she wanted.

After all, her cousin was married to a Tang family member. She must have heard about it from the Tangs.
