Gong Xu and Ling Fen made their way toward the venue the auditions were to take place. Luckily, it was near Star Hotel so they arrived after a few minutes of walking.

Gong Xu was holding a bag and inside was an audition for the audition role of 'Mo Jiamu' a second lead character in the film 'PIECES OF MAN'

The film was already popular even before it had started filming. The male and female leads had not even been chosen yet. Rumor had it that the Oscar-winning director from the country, Qiao Zilan, was to be the director of the film and the budget was close to one billion Yuan.

Qiao Zilan's movies were very popular both locally and internationally. He was known for being strict and that was probably why his films received high ratings. He did not care about the popularity of an actor, all he cared about was professionalism.

The scene Ling Fen and Gong Xu got when they entered the venue was quite far from their imagination. There were many people already there. They had tags already. What surprised the two, even more, was that even popular stars like Zhao Qing and Zhang Ying were also lining up.

Gong Xu registered his name and was given a tag. He was number one hundred and fifty and yet there were still people coming in. the two sat in the lobby. Gong Xu did not show any signs of tension like the other hopefuls who were pacing around the place.

This was what Ling Fen respected him for. He was such a clear-cut guy.

He believed that what will happen will happen and what will not happen, even if the heavens were to open up, will still not happen. He was also resolute in his decisions.

Ling Fen had gone to many interviews previously when they had still been looking for meager jobs and he had seen the other not even bat an eyelid when he was going inside those rooms.

She knew this yet she still asked, "Are you nervous?"

Gong Xu looked toward her. "Is that the way you are wishing me good luck?" he laughed. Ling Fen stared at him as if she wanted to beat him up but because there were many people around, she just looked at the other side to avoid starting an argument.

The auditions finally started and the men started going in one by one. Today's audition was specifically for the second male lead, 'Mo Jiamu.'

Qiao Zilan was judging the auditions personally and besides him, the screenwriter, Jing Bao, and the producer, Liang Shen were also present.

The first people to enter were sent out as soon as they entered.

Although Mo Jiamu's role was a bit easy, it required a high level of skill. In the books, he was an especially slippery man. His mood swings were akin to those of a mad person.

It was said that he could see things that many could not and that was what made him become half-mad. He could be your friend once and enemy next. His role required the actor to develop two different personalities to play him successfully.

Qiao Zilan noticed that some of the people who came in were quite good yet they did not show clearly the two faces of Mo Jiamu. He sighed as he sent the latest one out.

If things went on like this, where would they find a good actor? This had to be the trickiest character he had ever done.

Gong Xu and Ling Fen watched as the line got smaller and smaller until it was Gong Xu's turn next. He stood up, picked up his belongings, and made his way toward the audition room.

Ling Fen remembered how Gong Xu had shouted good luck to her back then. She then used the same tone and shouted,

"Gong Xu ah! If you pass I will make you pork trotters!"
