Escape death

An arrow barely visible to the eye appeared out of thin air, and it was mercilessly coming for Bryok's head. Due to the advantage of born a bull, Bryok could see from his peripheral vision better than his central vision like most beasts. Yet to him, he had never seen an attack like this, it was quick, precise, and most definitely deadly. If he hadn't seen that coming, his head would have ended up on a stick.

*pap*

The lightning arrow hit a tree making a small fry noise. It glazed Bryok's head just enough to leave a small cut but he had successfully dodged it by tucking his head forward just in time. While he was calmly looking for the shooter, everyone else around him panicked beyond his beliefs. They too had never seen anything like that.

"Master!" "Master!" All the soldiers immediately yelled and ran in the direction the arrow had flown from. "From that way! Go get it!"

Bryok dignifiedly stood straight up once more and carefully observed the strange light-stick being stuck to the tree trunk. On one head it was pointy and the other was spread out like a fish's fin. 'Interesting thing' Bryok's thought to himself.

It didn't take long for the hoard of men to capture Yilas, though she had tried to fight them off, she didn't have enough strength or energy to keep it going for long. Resulting in hurting some of them but eventually she got apprehended pretty quickly.

"Master! We have seized the beast!" Two big grown beast-man had Yilas in an arm lock and pinned it hard on her back, they even forced her on a kneel in front of Bryok.

"Why don't you struggle?" Bryok raised an eyebrow as he saw Yilas acting composed. He had thought after seeing her close male being killed off, she would be provoked.

"..." Yilas looked at the old beast-man dead in the eyes, those eyes were filled with fire. Her little white face was flushed like a ripe tomato, she was clenching her jaw so hard to keep the anger from spilling out. The biting was so hard that blood was coming from the corner of her mouth.

"Did you like the gift I left for you?"

Yilas didn't know this man was that cruel, not only did he killed the one person that she cared about but it was made into a game for him, baiting her to succumb to her anger and lost herself. Yilas was so angry at him her tiny body was shaking, even the guards holding was having a hard time keeping their grips.

"..." Yilas mumbled something this time at the base of her throat, Bryok definitely heard it but he wanted to hear it clearly so he inched his ears closer.

"Speak up, child."

When he was only inches away, Yilas gathered all the blood which had been leaking since she was biting her jaw so hard into a ball inside her mouth. She was waiting patiently for this moment.

*ptooey*

Fresh and warm-blood as red as roses covered half of Bryok's face, he didn't have time to even react to her action. However, his commander who was watching the whole time couldn't hold in his anger and stepped forward, landing a heavy slap across Yilas's face for her disrespectful action.

A dry and clean noise silenced the surrounding beasts, it was as if everyone had to hold their breath after what he did.

Females were always considered precious presents from the beast-god and they were always protected and cherished due to their rarity in this world. It was common morals to treat females differently due to this polyandry system. Many of the troops had never seen a male hit a female, let alone a weak-looking female like this one. Her whole body swing to a side as their commander landed his palm, her blood spilling all over the ground. Her white pale cheek imprinted a harsh red mark, swollen up like a rash and even though her long silver hair had covered most of her face, they could still see the evidence of the brute force.

Many of the beasts widened their eyes in shock, some felt sick to their stomach while some couldn't even bear to see the little female being hit. Though they understood why the commander did what he did, most of them still displeased with his temper.

It was lucky that Bryok stopped the beast after only one hit because Yilas's body couldn't have handled another one, yet she was stubborn enough to hold in her anger and bounced right back to her kneeling position.

"Tsk! Tsk!" Bryok smiled calmly and rolled his tongue, he was thinking young beasts were too simpleminded, it was too easy to get into their head and provoke them. He gently wiped away the bloodstain on his face and signaled his general to hold back. "That's enough." He said, "It seems like we have quite an unruly child."
