Punishment

"It seems like you didn't quite appreciate our gift, then how about we give you another one?" Bryok spoke loud, enough for the beasts to heard it as well. Every word was like a stabbing knife into Yilas's heart. The last time Bryok's gift was Mohsen's dead body so naturally, Yilas was fearful of what he was about to present her.

"Bring it in..." As soon as Bryok finished, three beasts from the surrounding circle ran away from their position, Yilas's heart was beating like crazy as she was waiting for her gift to arrive. 'What is this psychopath going to do this time?' Yilas thought to herself. The more they waited the more scared Yilas felt.

*thud* *thud*

Yilas did not dare to look but the heavy sound of something landing on the ground was her biggest fear, who else did Bryok killed?

"Open your eyes and look." Bryok low hoarse voice was like a snake, it was so venomous Yilas didn't want to comply. As soon as the thing was brought over, the smell of blood filled the air. Whatever was next to her, was definitely not something good.

The commander who had slapped Yilas before grew impatient once more, he shouted at her without mercy.

"LOOK AT IT!"

Yilas slowly peaked and suddenly realized what she was seeing and the weight on her chest immediately dropped. It was Mohsen! His actual human body was laying on the ground, there were some wounds on him but nothing major. Though Mohsen was unconscious, he seemed to be steadily breathing.

"Mohsen! Mohsen!" Yilas jumped off the ground to get to Mohsen but the guard still had her whole body in a lock. The little girl struggled painfully but their hold was like metal handcuffs, without the release words from Bryok, they wouldn't come off so easily.

Yilas called out Mohsen's name desperately but he didn't wake up, she was so happy to see him alive and breathing but there might be something wrong. Yilas quickly turned to Bryok.

"What's wrong with him? What have you done to him?" Yilas was so fearful that her voice broke in the middle of the sentence, anyone who would hear it would say a little piece of their heart broke too. It was hard not to empathize with such a pitiful and fragile female.

"Hahaha... Shouldn't I be asking that instead?" Bryok said mockingly.

All thoughts in Yilas's mind went blank, it was just as Bryok said, everything was due to her, everything happened because of her. If she had stayed quietly inside the camp, Mohsen wouldn't have been hurt like this. So was it all her doing all this time? Yilas thought that her heart had shattered into pieces when she realized it was, indeed her fault.

Yilas crumbled to the ground, her tiny white fists rolled tight and squeezed so hard that blood was coming from her palm. With all the people around her looking down on her and mocking her, all Yilas felt was rage and desperation.

Bryok walked over to Mohsen and stood over his lifeless body, barely raising up and down, and smirked. A devious plan formed in his mind.

"When he came to us, he was no longer the same beast we have known for many years..." Bryok turned to spoke loud enough for the crowd to hear "His eyes were red like fire, he was attacking his own comrades like a cold-blooded beast. So tell me, child, what did YOU do to him?"

"Must be dark energy!" His commander immediately shouted, he continued to turn around and talked to the crowd of soldiers around him "The nine-tail Fox possesses much more power and more evil energy than any of us has ever seen, it cannot be forgotten! Moreover, you all have seen it with your own eyes, how your general acted, he was attacking us with the intent to kill. It must be the Fox that seduced him, uses her magic to turned him crazy. You beasts cant be fooled by her appearance!"

Everyone started buzzing, it was hard not to believe what their masters had said. They saw it with their own eyes and why wouldn't they believe in their leader of many years. Even if they said the sun was evil, they would follow their masters to exterminate it till the end of the earth. With the overwhelming amount of loyalty they had for their masters, it was easy to pick aside. Not like they had much of a choice, to begin with.

"That's right..." mumbled from the back of her throat, Yilas chuckled, finally answered like an crazy person "I am a monster that did all this to hurt Mohsen. He did it all for me..." Yilas had to stop for a second to swallow the choke in her throat.

"...So you can do whatever you want to me and me alone."
