Off-World

The Third World was gone. The Negoran had made the planet uninhabitable. The planet's population had been evacuated on to the cruisers as the Negoran's attack continued. There was a cruiser for every city. The biggest and most protected was the cruiser Regalus. Named after the capital of The Third World.

Each cruiser had the city rebuilt inside with some basic improvements. The royal family lived in the palace in the center of the city.

The royal family had offered a huge reward to the Blue Regalan who had saved them. The Blue Regalan had not shown to claim the tremendous reward. The royal family did not know who he was so they could not seek him out directly yet, they still tried. Others had tried to claim the reward but the royal family was able to see through their ploys.

The Third World fleet had traveled away from their planet fearing the remaining Negoran raid party's would see the cruisers and attack them. They now were stationary within a asteroid belt. The belt was an ideal spot because the asteroids hid them from passing ships.

...

Regaltin darted through the streets chasing after his friend, Maclat, he bumped a elderly Blue Regalan as he rushed off toward the arena.

"Sorry!" Regaltin shouted back as he sprinted forward.

"Youth these days." The Regalan shook his head and went back to picking food out from the market.

Regaltin sped up passing Maclat. "You can't beat me even with a head start!" Regaltin shook his head and laughed as Maclat furiously increased his speed. They kept running until they reached the arena.

The building was humongous, half the size of the palace. The two slowed and walked briskly inside eager to be back in the only place where all of the Regalan youth gathered. They entered and went over to there regular seats. The seats markings immediately began to darken to a blue to match there own markings.

The arena announcer walked out into the middle of the arena. "Today we have a special treat for you all you youth!" The announcer boomed our. "The first battle of the day will be another basic routine battle, but then there will be a change in rules. You'll just have to find out what they are though because I'm not telling you." With that the Regalan cheered as the announcer walked off stage.

Two Regalan entered, a Green Regalan, and a Purple Regalan. The duels were amazing entertainment for two reasons in Regaltin's opinion. The first was they fought, and the second was no one ever got injured do to the advanced armor created by the kings engineers.

The two Regalan rushed toward each other their daggers glinting like the sun. They met and exchanged a few blows and then start circling.

Regaltin watched as they continued to duel. The Purple Regalan was far stronger than the Green Regalan and defeated the Green Regalan.

Regaltin looked around at the rest of the audience. There was every color Regalan youth here. He looked back at the boxes which contained the Red Regalan youth. He then quickly averted his eyes. The royal box was occupied for the first time since the war started. The two princesses and their brother, the prince, were watching the games.

He decided to just hope they didn't see him in the crowd of other Regalan youth.

The battle ended with cheers and the announcer walked back into the arena.

"Now, we will have the second and last round of the night! The battle will be between two of you in the audience!" The crowd murmured excitedly hoping they would be chosen to go fight in the arena. "The two that are chosen seats will start to glow white."

Regaltin's and a Green Regalan's chair started to glow. Regaltin quickly stood and walked to the arena entrance making sure to keep his back to the royals. He and the other Regalan walked into the entrance to get outfitted.

After they were outfitted they stepped out into the arena. Regaltin looked out at the audience and immediately regretted it. The eldest princess locked eyes with Regaltin. Recognition glowed in her eyes. Regaltin Stared back and gave her an impish grin.
