We were exhausted chasing one another in the fields. Both of us just lay down on this grassy field. Sasha rested her head on my arm, it almost feels like we're a couple.
Ugh, ridiculous! Sasha deserves a better guy than me.
"I always wondered, Kean." She began to talk.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Can you tell me more about yourself?"
She really wants to know more about me? I smiled a little and answered her. "I'm... i'm not really interesting. I'm just plain simple and uhm, i get picked on sometimes but uh..."
Sasha giggled and pinched my cheek. "Don't go shy on me, we're friends. You can tell me more."
I looked at her unbelievingly. Is she really eager to know more? "I don't want to sound dramatic."
"I told you, it's fine."
Well... if she says so...
"Okay then... so, i have two older brother's back at home. We don't really talk, and they don't really care that much about me."
"That's impossible, you guys are family, aren't you?"
"I don't know about that. We all have different fathers after all." Sasha didn't know how to react to what i've said. She might have been shocked to learn that. "My mother is a very liberated woman. I don't really know about my brother's fathers but my dad... i actually never met him. Mom said he was just a plain business man she met on a bar."
"Have you ever wanted to see your father, Kean?"
"Who doesn't? I mean, if i can i'd like to but... mom said that my dad has his own family, and that he would never want to do anything with me."
Sasha sighed and hugged me. "Does your mom comforts you about things like that?"
I bitterly smiled, "Nah, mom is busy. I rarely see her. She's always out of this country for business and travels."
"And your brothers?"
"They don't care about me."
"What about friends..."
"I don't have any. I'm often bullied in school though." Then i suddenly remembered someone. It felt like my whole world lit up when i remembered her. "...but there was this one person who was kind to me. Her name is Christa. She's a year older, she's really nice and funny! I wish i can see her again."
"So you do have a friend. That's wonderful, i'm happy for you Kean."
"Thanks, i really look forward in meeting her again."
Then we both fell silent. I was waiting for Sasha to ask some questions again but she was just quiet. Did i said something wrong? "Are you okay, Sasha?"
"I..."
I looked at her waiting for a reply, but she just shook her head. "Kean, you consider me a friend... right?"
"I... yeah... you're my friend." What's with her asking me this question?
She looked sad and sat down. "I'm glad we're friends."
"Sasha." I muttered her name. I'm really wondering why she's acting like this all of a sudden.
I noticed her picking up some flowers on the ground, as she gathered a lot, she decorated it on my head. "You'll be looking pretty once i'm done here." She laughed, trying to be cheerful.
I didn't know what to do so... i just went along with her play. "Sure! Hahaha!"
I feel like there's something wrong, but i just can't tell what it was.
