I must warn you that I will skip a few days of my routine. After the events, the week went on normally. Téa got better and went back to school, Atem was a little guarded during the days, since he doesn't like to show up during my studies. I missed him a little, but I also didn't want to disturb him. After all, I just wanted his company, I had no real reason.
On the Saturday of that week, it was that things came together again in a strange direction. I was in my room looking at my deck, arranging the cards and admiring them, when my cell phone rang. I answered and it was Joey. He said that Kaiba was holding a new tournament, and that he would definitely stop Domino City, as his last. I was excited, I loved the duel tournaments.
In addition, Joey added that Kaiba would like a duel with me for the opening of the tournament, something that would excite the staff, and he seemed to have a new strategy, being convinced that this time he would beat me. I gave a smile and Joey made some comments like: You are going to rock that idiot, Yugi. I hung up after we made an appointment to meet the next day.
On Sunday, as promised and agreed, Kaiba released the official announcement of the start of the tournament and people came to the Center, to see our opening battle for the games. I met with Tristan, Joey, Téa and even Mai who came to participate and took the opportunity to meet us again; in the center, a few minutes before. Kaiba called me on stage and we prepared ourselves with our records.
Our fight had been intense, Atem appeared to give us strength, as always, and we ended up with the strategy he had made. It was very good, I confess, but the Egyptian gods are cards with difficult breaches to counterattack. I don't think Kaiba is very happy with him being defeated by us, but I still try my best to be friendly with him. Faith in the heart of the letters, Kaiba.
In celebration, Téa said that we would have a party at her house, with games, music and things like that. I accepted, a little embarrassed, but they were totally excited and it looked like it would be cool. We went to Téa's house and got everything we needed, goodies, games, horror movies and things like that. Joey was extremely excited. While Tristan, Mai and Joey set the table, Téa came over to me, smiling.
- And then Yugi, what do you want to do? Today is your party - She smiled excitedly.
- Haha, I don't know Téa, you know you're not very good at parties. - I gave a childish smile and blushed slightly.
At that moment, Mai passed us by with some appetizers and I got one, delicious.
- Don't worry Yugi. I'll make you loosen up more. - She smiled and winked.
-Haha, then, we can start with a game! - He said smiling.
- Game?! - Joey shouted across the room, smiling and ended up dropping soda on the floor.
- Joey! Pay attention to what you're doing! - Tristan sighed
- Hehe, sorry Téa. Let's clean. - He scratched his hair.
- Let's go??? You go - Tristan looked indignantly at his friend.
- Oh come on Tristan, you lazy - The blonde teased.
- Haha, those boys ...- Téa laughed and then looked at me curiously - Ah yes, Yugi, and Pharaoh?
- Ah yes! - I let out a smile - I will invite him to come, but I don't know if he will come ... - I pouted and she nodded.
- Call him, it must be tedious to stay within the millennium. - Mai said, looking at the object that was around my neck.
- Right! - I smiled.
I put my hands on the object and closed my eyes, just by concentration. After calling him, he manifested himself in spectral form and after I explained, he ended up accepting it. Her body materialized and Téa and Mai smiled. Joey and Tristan, who had just cleaned up the mess, finally asked us to eat.
- Ah, look who came! - Joey smiled when he saw Pharaoh.
- Yeah, we haven't seen him outside of duels in a long time. - Tristan smiled slightly - Come eat with us!
Atem flushed his cheeks slightly and smiled slightly, being guided by us to the table. It was good to know that everyone liked him so much, it made him feel more welcomed despite being such an old soul in an almost unknown world. We sat at the table and Joey looked in his mouth.
- Wow, how much! - He smiled, going to get a salty, but was interrupted by Mai who hit his hand before he caught it.
- Joey, have manners. - She frowned - We have special visits and are you going to put your hand in that way already? Well, control yourself.
- Oh come on Mai ...- He looked at her, who made an uncompromising face and sighed, looking at Atem - Sorry partner.
Atem laughed and put his hand on Joey's shoulder in a gesture of companionship.
- All right, Joey. I don't really care.
- Oh really? - Joey's eyes lit up and he turned to Mai, with a convinced face now - You see ...
We all laughed at the table. I took one of the snacks and I offered Atem. He made a confused, extremely cute face, and tilted his head slightly to the side, staring at the food.
- What is this Yugi? - He asked referring to the salty in my hand.
- It's a drumstick. They are very tasty, try it. - I smiled gently at him, and brought the salty closer.
He then bit the salt in my hand, and looked at me with his lilac eyes. For a moment, it looked like he was teasing me, biting like that and looking at me. My cheeks turned a little red and he finally smiled.
-Huuum ... this is very good. - He smiled
- Hehe, I'm glad you liked it. - I smiled gracefully and then I noticed that he had catupiry in his mouth. - Atem ... - I gestured in my mouth, pointing to him wipe that side of his mouth, but he didn't seem to understand.
- Haha, Yugi, I think mime is not Pharaoh's forte - Téa laughed, accompanied by Mai. - It's just that you have catupiry in the corner of your mouth. - Téa wiped his mouth with his napkin.
- Ah thank you. - He smiled embarrassed
I smiled slightly and thus followed a meal full of jokes and stories, of which I was almost always involved. After filling up with junk, we sat on the floor to play Truth or Dare. It was a game we almost never played, but at parties it was a good distraction, at least that was what the girls thought.
We made a circle and explained the rules, mainly because Atem didn't know them. So we started, the first round fell between Tristan and Joey, and Tristan challenged him to be able to speak the material that would fall in the race. Joey failed to comply and fought a little with Tristan who did not undo his winning smile. Then it was Téa and Mai's turn, and so it continued until it fell on me and Atem. I was the one who asked.
- Truth or Dare? - I said with a smile.
- True - He said after thinking a little.
- Is there anything you haven't asked him yet, Yugi? - Joey said.
- Of course there must be Joey. - Said Mai with a smile - Pharaoh is someone full of mysteries, not even Yugi would know all of them.
- Haha - I smiled a little embarrassed, while Atem waited patiently for the question. - Okay. So, Pharaoh, have you thought about returning to Egypt?
- Ah ... it's true. You know, for your original home ...- Mai opened her eyes more, curious.
Atem was a little surprised by the sudden question. He folded his arms slightly and turned his lilac eyes to a distant corner of the room.
- Yes. Actually, I thought about it a lot, after all, there's not much to do within the millennium when we're not in a duel. - He paused and then looked at everyone - But I rejected the idea. I created real relationships with you, I have a great affinity, something that I would not find there. Besides ...- He turned his eyes in my direction - I don't know if I would be able to just abandon Yugi. He's my best friend, I probably wouldn't feel far from all of you.
- Ah ... that was beautiful! - Téa exclaimed, with a smile.
- Oh man, we love you too! - Joey was almost crying, in his common exaggeration.
- Ah, I didn't imagine he was so affectionate Pharaoh - Mai smiled, tears in her eyes.
Atem on the other hand, he barely understood everyone's reaction. He had spoken in such a normal way that it seemed quite true. I stood there, admiring her cheeks gradually turning pink from the comments, and smiled slightly. I was your best friend. It made me feel a little bad for the weird thoughts I was having with him. But even his beautiful words didn't make those dirty thoughts go away, they got worse. He looked so cute over there. His eyes finally turned towards me, and he smiled at me. I could have melted there, it was a magnificent smile.
Afterwards, we finished the game and were already very tired. It was late at night, so Téa said we could sleep at her house, there would be no problem. This is also because the class week would be interrupted by the Kaiba tournament, so nothing we would have to worry about. Atem and I said goodbye to everyone and headed for our room.
I sat on the bed and rubbed my eyes lightly, sleepy. Pharaoh then approached me and put his hands over his eyes, scratching them slightly and yawning.
- Then ... these parties are tiring. - He sat next to me
- Haha, they are. But it was really fun, wasn't it? - Smile.
- For sure - He smiled - And those drumsticks ... now I'm addicted.
I laughed and then the breeze came in through the window, making Atem's hair move gently. His image was so deified at night. I blushed slightly and turned my face away.
- So - His hoarse voice suddenly came across the room, calling. - I'm already going. - He smiled slightly
- Ah ... alright ....
I had forgotten that he would not stop there. I didn't want him to leave, his company was so adorable. I lowered my head and turned my eyes to the floor, thoughtfully. I grabbed my knees, hugging them, while the bedroom breeze seemed to make me even sadder.
- What was Yugi? He frowned slightly. - It seems uncomfortable with something ...- He hesitated a little, and I turned my eyes in his direction. - Still having nightmares?
I thought for a while before answering. I still had them, not so often, but I did. Maybe if I said no, he would be gone, so I decided I would tell the truth.
- Yes. Sometimes I can't sleep because of them ...
He let out a light chuckle, and I looked at him a bit confused. What was he laughing at?
- I understand. If I stay here, would you feel better?
- Ah yes. - I said with a childish smile.
He smiled and excused himself, walking over to a corner of the room. He put his shoes there and returned from there taking a space from the bed for himself, and closing his eyes. He really looked really tired. I think that in his spectral form he doesn't get tired, but materializing must cost him a good amount of energy.
Anyway, he looked extremely handsome there, he almost couldn't believe he could sleep with him. A strange sensation ran through my body, but I tried to ignore it and lay down at last, with my back to Atem, after all, I felt embarrassed to be facing him. I slept quickly, but I had a terrible nightmare.
