Unexpected(2)

While Azrek and Sairaorg were eating, time passed, and soon would be the time for everyone to go back on their way.

Azrek and Sairaorg separated and went on their way.

When Azrek reached the place his parents had told him to meet at when the gathering ended only his mother was present with a smile on her face.

'Hmm... what could she be happy about...' Azrek couldn't understand why his mother was this excited when she saw him, but she quickly came before him and started pulling his hand back to the Sitri's Mansion.

"Mother, where are we going?" Azrek asked curiously.

"We're going to meet someone, don't worry about it." With a short laugh, Salna continued to pull Azrek toward the mansion.

'...Wait a minute I've got a bad feeling about this... crap, I should have thought about it before coming, they had something prepared when mother asked me to come some weeks ago... It's probably about an engagement or something similar... Sigh... noble society...what a bother.'

Azrek already knew since he became a devil of the Dantalion Clan that he would be engaged to someone from a clan with a status comparable to his, and from the looks, it was with the girl from the Sitri Clan.

In reality, it wasn't too bad, Sona Sitri would grow up to be a beauty, and the influence and support of the Sitri Clan was something that would greatly help him when he became more powerful, what's more, this girl's big sister was one of the four satans.

And as he had deduced, he was brought to a room by his mother who then made him sit on the sofa at the center of the room with a big smile on her face.

"Do you know how lucky you are to be able to get engaged to a beauty like her, what's more, I've heard that she has shown superior intelligence compared to her peers since she was young, a great match for you if you ask me." Salna was very happy about this meeting, she had wanted to find someone worthy of her son in the other 72 pillars' clans, but only two of them were able to grab her attention, the one from the Gremory Clan, and the one from the Sitri.

"But Mother she is just a kid..." Azrek tried to reply to his mother and talk some sense into her, after all, he had the mentality of an adult and he was about to get engaged to a five years old little girl, don't get him wrong he wouldn't have any problem if it had happened in thirteen years when she reached adulthood but now...

"So what, you're just a brat yourself, I'm sure that she will grow up to be beautiful so take your chance when she is here."

"Mom we're still young, why don't we speak about it again in some years, it wouldn't be too late by then, do you think I'll be able to get along with a kid this young." Azrek wasn't dissuaded by his mother, at least he wanted to postpone the talk when he was slightly older.

"Weren't you able to get along just well with the Bael's kid? Then I don't see any problem!" Azrek decided to stop responding and let his mind wander elsewhere as he didn't want to hear his mother pestering him any further.

'It looks like this is inevitable, but I should try to delay the engagement till we're older, at least some years, five years old is too young no matter how you look at it, I'm still an adult even though I'm in a child's body.'

Even back in his previous life where his standing was similar or even superior to the one he had in this world, he wasn't forced to marry anyone, even though he had met numbers of potential fiancees if he said no his parents would respect his choice, but here he wasn't sure his mother would even let him speak.

'Sigh... I miscalculated this one, but on the good side, if I didn't come today I wouldn't have been able to meet Sairaorg since he will soon lose his position and be sent to the countryside... Sigh... How bothersome.'

While he still looked straight at the wall before him continuing to ignore his mother, the door of the room once more opened and two more peoples entered. One of them was a lady looking to be in her twenties while the other was the little girl he had seen previously in the gathering, Lady Sitri, and Sona Sitri.

When both of them entered, Azrek's mother gave him a light punch to make him come back.

Looking up he saw that the awaited host had entered, Lady Sitri had a smile on her face as she looked at him, she was a gorgeous woman and one could see where Sona's and Serafall's beauty came from.

As for Sona, she stood there expressionless.

Azrek stood up with his mother and bowed lightly to Lady Sitri while nodding his head politely to Sona.

The following event happened like any other matchup attempt, both parents promoting the strong points of their children while looking at the opposite party.

While the women finally stopped talking after some time, Azrek decided that it was time for him to speak.

"Mother, Lady Sitri, I think that both of us are still too young to speak about engagement, why not wait a few more years before speaking abou-!" Before he could even finish speaking, his mother had sent him a vicious glare that made him shut up, but not all hope was lost as Sona also stood up.

"Yes Mother, why not speak about it when we're older, I don't want to have a fiancee yet, also I've already said to you that I'll only marry someone smarter than me, so I won't agree to this before he proves to me that he is smarter."

'Crap that little girl has some persuasion power' was the first thought that came to Azrek when he heard what Sona had said, then he stood surprised when he saw his mother and Lady Sitri nod slightly.

"Alright then I'll speak to your Father about it, but we'll have this conversation once more in the future, then I won't tolerate this type of remark." Azrek's mother was the first to speak as she sent a glare toward him, he had ruined the chance that she had created for him.

Azrek could only nod his head when both parties left the room.

"I owe you one for this thanks," Azrek said to Sona before she even had the chance to respond he departed.
