Petite little thing

Ying Xuan made a disgusted face. Seeing the girl's expression, anyone could easily tell what kind of assistance she was offering.

But Wei Jingyu seemed oblivious to the girl's advances as he replied, looking somewhere else, "No thanks. I already have my partner with me. I don't suppose we are allowed to use our own bikes for the race?"

The woman did not back off even then. She batted her eyelashes and spoke, "Actually. . . For this race, everyone is allowed to use their bikes. As the standard bikes here do not have space for a passenger."

Ying Xuan almost puked upon seeing the girl trying to act cute. It was good that she couldn't make noises with her mouth, otherwise her snorts would have made her some real enemies.

"Who are you taking as your partner, Flash J?" a new voice attracted Xuan's attention, and she turned to see another woman, looking very much like the one talking to them, had walked over.

Ying Xuan wondered if the two were sisters while Wei Jingyu replied, "My partner will be my friend here."

The two girls looked at Xuan up and down and one replied with a snicker, "This petite little thing? You sure she can take it? Who is she anyway?"

Jingyu's voice was murderous as he replied, "Yes, this petite little thing. And she is called. . . . . Turbo." He added, turning towards Xuan who signed the last word.

"Turbo huh? Never heard of it." Another man spoke, approaching the group. Xuan and Jingyu had caused quite the commotion. Everyone had heard of Flash J and people were eager to see if it was the real thing or not.

Wei Jingyu's hand wrapped tighter around Xuan's shoulders and replied, his face a little smug, "I'm sure you will hear a lot of it in the future."

"So what's the catch? Doesn't your turbo speak? Or is she too scared seeing us?" Another one spoke, eyeing Xuan up and down.

Ying Xuan signed and Jingyu spoke, "You wish you all scared me."

Most of the people understood at that point that Xuan couldn't speak. All of them stood staring at this strange couple.

Some impressed, some sceptical, and others wondering how on earth was this girl going to tell him directions if she couldn't speak.

Wei Jingyu looked around, breaking the reverie, "Now, who would happen to be handing out maps?"

People looked around and a man walked over with a tablet and a map. Wei Jingyu filled in his and Xuan's names in the tablet and the man handed the map to Xuan.

Ying Xuan looked at the map in her hands as she and Jingyu walked away from the crowd.

"Memorize the plotted course. Your job is to guide me to the finish line." Wei Jingyu leaned closer and whispered in Xuan's ear.

She looked up at his face and nodded.

Jingyu smiled, planted a kiss on Xuan's helmet and have her a gentle push to where there stood other people with maps, the other participants apparently. "Meet you at the starting line." he said with a wink.

A blush creeped onto Xuan's cheeks as she unfolded her map and began to study it.
