Once he nodded, she continued, 'So, I don't know. I could have adapted the gown to something modern, but I decided not to. We were going to the end of the semester 'ball' after all.'
"That's nice. I think you perfectly embodied Belle from Beauty and the Beast." Jingyu said, "But why her gown? Did you have any specific reason?" Ying Xuan shrugged and signed, 'I've just always liked her.' Wei Jingyu nodded and turned his eyes back to the laptop.
He did not see Xuan's lips form into a smile as she sneaked a peek at his face. She had always like Belle, but there had been another reason why she had chosen her gown as her inspiration. It was because her gown was yellow, a little too yellow if Xuan was being honest with herself. But someone very special to her had once said that she looked exceptionally breath-taking in yellow.
It had been on a summer day when Wei Jingyu had tagged along on her morning run as usual. He had of course wanted to know all about Xuan's plans for the day, and had of course also shown up when she had told him she was going to study at the library.
Ying Xuan had been wearing her yellow dress with the honeybee print with her hair in a braid that day. Xuan was used to Jingyu complimenting her, but his reaction that day had been something else. For one thing, Xuan had seen him before he saw her.
She had been sitting on a table that was not directly visible from the entrance, so she had noticed Wei Jingyu walk in and begin looking around for her. He had been wearing black ripped jeans and a black shirt open over a plain white t-shirt underneath. Jingyu had looked very refreshing that day to be honest. She had watched his expression go from an expectant one to one of dejection, as he probably thought Xuan had lied to him. Xuan's heart melted upon seeing him like this.
How could she ever lie to him now? She had become quite used to him being around, he was now like a habit. And Xuan didn't mind the constant attention and compliments either, mostly because they always seemed heartfelt and never over-the-top.
Just as he was about to turn around and leave, Ying Xuan waved her hand. But her table being fairly hidden, Jingyu didn't notice. It was then, in a moment of desperation, that Xaun hurriedly stood up. Her chair scraped the floor and made an irritating noise, making everyone in the library, including Wei Jingyu, to look in her direction. She let out a shy smile in his direction and bowed an apology to everyone else, before sitting back down and trying to make herself as small and invisible as possible.
It was then that Ying Xuan had noticed Wei Jingyu acting weird. He had stood transfixed for a few seconds, and just when Xuan was beginning to get worried, he had broken out of his reverie. And as he snapped back, he had blushed! Yes! The bad boy prince of the whole college, whose usual expression was one of 'don't come near me, I'll murder you', had actually, properly blushed!! Right there in the middle of the library.
