Teachers discussion on the trial

"

"We have around 40 minutes before the next student batch, as with previous batches that had student that entered the Pure Mana Hall, let discuss those students that didn't enter the hall and then the students that entered it" Principal Zestari started the teachers discussion.

"Big brother, seeing as you are here may I ask if I´m correct, only Augustus and Sarah didn´t enter the Hall in this batch, is that correct?" Principal Zestari sent an inquiring gaze at Izuriel.

"That´s correct. If I may add I would like to discuss Xol performance till last, there is something I need to inform the group before we discuss it" Izuriel replied while glancing at the group, he made a slight bow with his head.

"OH, now you piqued my interest old rival, I do wonder what you need to inform the group before discussing his performance." Aidan commented raising an eyebrow toward Izuriel. Though they were rivals and usually messed with the other from time to time, they had unspoken truce when it came helping a student reach new heights.

Aidan was robust man with black hair, sword like eyebrows, tanned skin and a roman nose. His amiable eyes gave his face the impression of the gentle sunlight of spring, but when mad his face would remind someone of the most scorching day of the summer. He had a red scholar robe that went good on him with painting of a raging inferno on his back.

"It´s about a notification I got before they entered the second trial, don´t mind too much and let continue the discussion." Izuriel raised his hand slightly and gestured Aidan to wait a little, which Aidan nodded.

"Augustus´s Mana pool would be in the third position of the highest, being just slightly bigger than Henley´s, added with good aiming skills I think it would be advisable that he takes a fire or wind attunement" a Teacher commented.

"I agree with the notion, he also has the apprentice class, though this class doesn't get skills as it level up nor it has base mana pool like the other classes, it make up the deficiency with more skill points possible per level, though the class force you to go gain them through various specific actions like doing strength exercise for STR, studying for INT, etc. If he hasn´t extracted the maximum of 200 points of the class, we should focus on this task." Another teacher joined the discussion.

"As for Sarah, though she has less mana capacity in her mana pool, being in the scholar class now, becomes a huge advantage for any magical class and attunement she can get in the academy due to the passives skills she got with this class. She also had a good sense of the battle being able to stop the senior from advancing toward Asteria. Both factors added could make her suitable to dabble in crowd control or supporting spells for the battle." Another Teacher commented.

Soon all the teachers began joining the discussion focusing on their strong points and which attunements would be the most suitable, and ways to guide these students, once their finished they proceeded the talk toward the 4 students that reached the Pure Mana Hall.

"Aidan, what are your thought on Henley, being the teacher in charger of the fire attunement, it´s highly likely he come to you, seeing he got the fire attunement from the Hall." Principal Zestari said looking toward Aidan

"If I had to describe his performance in one word it would be… 'pitiful'." Aidan replied shaking his head.

"I know everyone has their own rules, and all, but refusing to use a spell when a fight is turning south, this attitude is highly detrimental in retaking the flow of battle. I´ll admit that he resolution to only use magic related to sword is admirable for wanting to take a magic swordsman, but it´s not unheard that magic swordsmen class use other types of spells apart from sword related spells."

"Lastly, though he has obtained a fire attunement, it doesn't mean he would instantly go to my class, he could take either the metal or wind attunement as those elements have more synergy with the magic swordsman class" Aidan finished his analysis waving his hand.

"I agree with your point, though you having a Mana Cultivator class, and even being a flame sword cultivator, it would be highly beneficial for him that you became his first teacher. I admit he could go for the other attunements, either way let´s agree we need to do something with his arrogant and reckless attitude the moment he enters any class" Izuriel nodded at Aidan analysis.

"Seeing as everyone has agreed on how to guide him, shall we now discuss Richter performance before talking about my daughter?" Principal Zestari commented seeing everyone was finished discussing Henley performance.

"What is his background exactly?" a teacher asked.

"Richter von Braun, he comes from the Braun family, once one of 5 noble families of the capital but in recent years they haven't produce a high level individual, added with the pressure of the other families, they have fallen from grace losing their position on the capital." Principal Zestari replied as she read the profile the administration office had sent on Richter.

"The curious thing, is this family has only produced orthodox mages and never a martial class nor a mana cultivator, so his martial experience did come as a surprise"

"Seeing his performance, keeping at bay the Senior I would like to let teacher Aidan, teacher Amelia, my brother or me, to be their first teacher so we could capitalize on his inherent potential and make him a mana cultivator." Principal Zestari sent an apologizing nod toward the mage teachers.

"We understand principal, furthermore, once he finishes his mana cultivation initial training and develops his style, feel free to call us for his second attunement, that is if you guys find any of them beneficial for him" a teacher replied.

"I guess your daughter would be the same case." another teacher asked.

"That is correct" Principal Zestari answered.

'Ah why did he had to ask I wanted to hear them praise my precious daughter' Zestari pouted a little.

"Well, seems like it´s your turn to make the announcement you commented, Izuriel" Aidan said glancing toward him.

"I guess so." Izuriel sighed as he also wanted to hear praises to his niece.

"Well as everyone knows, inside the Pure Mana Hall that I installed in the various dungeon of he academy, there is a Highly Concentrated Pure Mana Crystal that would make the person who entered be attracted to it and once he touches it, he would be evaluated on the performance he had in the dungeon, based on he would receive a mana blessing." Izuriel started explaining, once he saw everyone nod, he continued.

"The evaluation consist in many factors, first time entering the dungeon, time taken, mana capacity, mana purity, and known spells, but the reason we don´t tell the participants of its existence and wait to tell them after they enter the academy, it´s because not knowing about the existence of the hall greatly improve the reward from the evaluation. A basic blessing would improve the mana sensibility and give some INT, the intermediates blessing would also give a skill that improve the capability of the person, the highest the blessing the more beneficial skill the person gets and very rarely it would give an elemental attunement skill like Henley´s case."

"Though not knowing the existence improve the mana blessing, even with a subpar performance, as long as the student has a mana capacity above 1,500, he would receive the basic blessing allowing someone to improve their mana sensibility and get some INT points. That´s why we assign the new students with senior students in their dormitories, so the seniors can help them discover the hall and improve their mana sensibility, as with better mana sensibility one has easier time creating and using spells."

Everyone nodded and some finally understood why the Academy trial entry requirements was designed in that way.

"Before Xol exited the trial, I got a new type of notification from the hall. The notification said he had broken the record in mana capacity of the Highly Concentrated Pure Mana Crystal. Seeing as this is the first time, I got the notification. I assume there was a hidden predetermined record I didn´t knew about and Xol managed to break it. That´s why I was puzzled seeing his mana and felt it should be higher than it shows, since… well, his mana pool capacity it´s subpar compared with the other persons who had found the hall. Even though he has found the hall, it should has experienced a higher increase in his capacity." Izuriel explained with a puzzled look.

"The only two possibilities would be his mana has impurities or he overexerted himself recently leading to a weakened state." Izuriel commented raising two fingers.

"Seeing Xol performance and his quick thinking at planning it would advisable for him take an attunement with high crowd control like ice or wood, some support spells would also suitable for him to control the battlefield. Lastly, seeing he knows basic spearmanship he could also take a path in mana cultivation. All in all, the teachers that takes him under his wing should take in consideration checking if his mana has impurities or if he overexerts himself too much. Oh, also whoever ends as his teacher can you report me what he got from the Pure Mana Hall, thank you. Thoughts?" Izuriel pointed his opinion on Xol.

*Silence

"*Cough Cough* old rival if I may point out —"Aidan said as he raised his fist"—One, crowd control spells, two, support spells, three, mana cultivation—"Aidan said as he raised three fingers "— Aren´t you the most suitable candidate to guide him as your two attunements can accomplish those points and more?" Aidan asked with confused face.

"Oh" Izuriel said with realization face of what he said.

"As I said in the past, if a student wants to learn from me, he must qualify in all my criteria and finish the tasks I request him, before they could acknowledge me as teacher. I´m not lowering, nor bypassing these rules for anyone." Izuriel said after he shook his head.

"But"

"No buts, there a reason I have these harsh requirements and I´m not lowering them" Izuriel cut Aidan´s statement.

"*sigh* Lets continue discussing on how to guide him in that case." Principal Zestari sighed at her brother strict nature in teaching.

The discussion soon followed on how to guide Xol and to verify if he had used all the skill points available to the apprentice class. Once the discussion ended Izuriel opened a portal and returned to his office.
