A Bad Guy
Chapter 5: I hate this world, I hate everyone…
It took 2 hours to find something to eat, as there was no one who was willing to give him food. He begged to everyone and even bowed to the point where his head was touching their feet and still kept no one gave him anything.
Why was he going so far? Because he didn't want his mother to spend her another day with an empty stomach. He has thrown all his pride or dignity which he had from earth. He was just a son right now.
Though, the friend of his mother, the old lady, gave him some food but it was thrown away by her husband. But this all didn't make our Ken Kai sad, he kept on trying.
And when there was no one giving him anything, he then search trees and plants which have some fruits. And finally after a few hours of hard-work he found a little food.
Ken Kai had a big smile when he was carrying the food back to his home. He was happy as finally his mother will get some food.
With that happy mood he reaches the house.
But when he go inside, he saw his mother. She was still sleeping but he noticed that she hasn't change her position this whole time. Ken Kai walked near to his mother and lightly tapped on her cheeks.
Ken Kai: Mother… Wake UP… Food is ready…
His mother didn't respond.
Ken Kai: *shaked his mother's body* Mother?...
Then he checked her breathing by putting his finger around her nose. And that time he knew…
"Mother….?"
Tears started coming from his eyes. He just held his mother's hand and kept sitting beside her side.
Time passed by seconds, then minutes and then hours.
This whole time he just kept on looking at his mother's face.
Finally evening came and the day started to end. Ken kai stood up, he knew that crying won't do anything, thus he thought of preparing a burial ground.
He goes to the village graveyard and asked for the process of burial.
Graveyard keeper: Listen kid, Bring people here and burying them doesn't cost any money, but what cost the money is digging the ground and then again putting the ground back on the body. Also, that stone on which we will right the names…
Ken kai: *with an expression less face* how much?
Graveyard Keeper: Hmm… 5 copper coin, that's it.
Ken Kai: Hahaha…5 copper coin? I don't even have a single coin. Mister, I am a poor boy, please show some mercy…
Graveyard keeper: Look here kid, it takes money to maintain the place okay?! So I also need money, not just to maintain this place but to also eat some food. Can you get it?!!!
Ken kai got sad, as he didn't even have money to bury her mother's body. The keeper watched the sad expression and then said something.
Graveyard Keeper: OK kid let's do it this way, I will prepare the stone for you and write the name on it, but it's you who have to dug the ground and bring the body or the decease one. Is that ok?
"Was this a pity? Or something likes that?" Ken Kai said to himself. Then he nodded and without saying anything he left the place.
Surely the keeper didn't know what Ken Kai is going through, so maybe if he knew, he may have helped him, but who knows…
Ken kai walked slowly-slowly and then finally reach the house.
He goes inside and then looked at his mother's face again. Then he takes a deep breath and then hold his mother's body and then put her above his shoulder.
Was her mother heavy? He was small then how can he lift an adult's body? And maybe various other questions would come to all the people's mind who was watching as kid carrying an adult's body, but they don't know that in front of the sadness Ken Kai is, nothing means to him.
Ken Kai's with his mother's body on his shoulder walked and walked towards the graveyard. Many people saw him. Some took pity and wished that he would have a happy life, some didn't care and some also tried to give him a helping hand but Ken Kai said no and moved on.
Finally reach the graveyard. The man, who Ken Kai talked a few minutes before was also there and he saw him. He also made that sad face, he also showed pity at him.
Ken Kai reached near the man and then put his mother's body down.
Ken Kai: You said, you would make the stone for free isn't it?
Keeper: Yes, but I can help you…
Ken Kai: *shacked his head* No, I'll do it myself. You just prepare the stone and write my mother's name, 'Chiyako Kai'. Sorry but I don't know when she was born but she died today. Can you write it down?
Keeper: *took a deep breath* Yes, I will do that.
After this, ken Kai moved to the place where he will dig the ground. He took the shovel from Kepper's side and started digging the ground.
Soon the night fall and finally Ken Kai put his mother's body on the grave. One last time, he looked at his mother's face and that smile. Maybe his mother knew that her time has come and that's why she was sad.
After sometime, he covered the grave and then the keeper also put the stone on which his mother's name and the day she died were written, put it near the grave.
And after that he walked away from the place and go to his house. After reaching the house, he saw some figure. When he got near he saw a familiar person. It was the village chief.
