Oh shit. He remembered. He's probably still pissed off at me for spraying fire extinguisher in his eyes. And Freddy's not looking like he's had a good day so far. I got to get out of here and fast. I'm not ending up like that one technician he killed. William started crawling away, still hiding under the tables, hoping to get to some of the other tables so that Funtime Freddy would lose track of him. He could now hear Freddy taunting both him and the masked man, still cackling.
"Yeah, I remember what you did! You sprayed fire extinguisher in my optics, you little prick! And you...", his head turned to the masked man now,"...I don't know who you are, but if you think you can--"
Funtime Freddy was interrupted by the sound of the masked man shooting at him, once in the torso, then twice near the head, but given that Freddy's metal plating was very durable, the bullets only giving him a few tiny dents. He cried out in anger, and for a brief moment, his face-plating opened up before going back to normal. He was now violently screaming.
"Did you just scratch my paintjob, you sick bastard?! I'll kill you for that!"
But the man immediately dove down and tried crawling underneath the tables, too, and came across William. They were both shocked when they came across each other, but before William tried to shoot the man with his taster, the man tried reasoning with him.
"Stop! Listen to me. I know you have every right to be pissed off at me right now with all I've done to you, but Funtime Freddy will kill us both if we don't work together. I'd hate to say it, but we need to work as a team if we want to get out of this alive."
"You're up for a truce, then?"
"Only because I hate Funtime Freddy more than I hate you."
"Alright. Just try to keep that gun pointed away from me, then."
"It's not going to do much. Unless I can get a good shot in his eyes, his suit and endoskeleton are very strong. Bullets aren't going to be of much help to us. Do you have any weapons?"
"All I got is a taser and a hunting knife."
"Did you steal those from--. Nevermind. It looks like you have the better weapon here. A shot from that taser should immbolize him for a little bit, but it won't take him down. I think there's an axe I keep in my secret room here, you know, the one with all the boards and stuff? If we can get ahold of that, I think we have a chance of taking him down."
"How are going to take him down with an axe? His suit is made of metal!"
"Don't worry about it too much. I just need you to go to my room and get that axe for me! I'll create a diversion for you. Don't ask why we need it, I'll explain once you get it! We've got no time to lose!"
"Okay, but when all of this is over, I'm making sure you pay."
"Sure you will. Now go! I'll distract him!"
William wasn't entirely sure about trusting this man's plan. This could end horribly if it went the wrong way. But desperate times called for desperate measures, so he handed the man his taser and began crawling again, trying to stay behind more of the tables to avoid Funtime Freddy. He was now stomping around, angrier than ever before, still yelling at both of them, now in a much more sadistic tone.
"You both should just come out now and let me get it over with already! Not like it's going to mater for you guys, anyway, because this will probably be the last day of your pathetic lives! Or at least one of your pathetic lives. Believe me, on any other day, if I were this angry, I would do much more than just crack your skulls with my bare jaws. But I have my orders."
William was confused with what Funtime Freddy was saying. Orders? Since when does he take orders from anyone? Before he could think about it further, Funtime Freddy continued, while still searching for both of them.
"Baby told me she wanted me to bring you back alive if the plan failed, but she never mentioned anything about there being two of you. I'll think I'll save whatever she's got planned for you, tech guy. I want to see you suffer. But on the bright side, I also get to kill the mask guy, too! And let me just say, I have all sorts of things in mind for him."
The masked man could see that Freddy was getting closer to him, and that William was almost far enough to make a run for the room. He gave him the signal to start running, but William was still trying to process what Funtime Freddy said. Baby sent him here, to capture me? And what did she have planned for me? No, ignore him he's just trying to get inside my head. I won't let him. Then he saw the masked man giving him the signal to run, and he quickly got up, and started running as fast as his legs could carry him.
It was a straight shot down to the room, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get to. But Funtime Freddy's eyes caught sight of him, and began taunting William.
"Ah, there you are!"
He was incredibly fast, but he was still a good distance away from William, so that gave the masked man some time to play his next move. Luckily, Funtime Freddy was about to run right past him, so he got his taster loaded and ready to fire. By the time Freddy got in front of him, he fired the taster on the bear's leg, and he immediately fell to the ground with a loud clank, just shaking.
Freddy was down, but it wasn't going to be long until he got back up again, so the masked man quickly ran away, trying to find some more safe cover from the bear. He saw that William was able to open the door to the secret room, so all he had to do now was wait for him to get the axe, and hold off for long enough.
Funtime Freddy kept shaking for only a couple of seconds before coming to his senses, and got back on his feet. He was now growling, even more pissed off than he was before. He lost track of where the man was, and started yelling again.
"Killing you is going to be worth every minute, you prick! First you shoot at me, and now you taze me. You know, I was going to make your death quick and painful at first, but I think I'll settle for breaking every damn bone in your body! Now, where are you? Ah, playing a game of hide and seek, aren't you? Well, don't worry. I just happen to love this game!"
Funtime Freddy began knocking down the tables one by one, like they were nothing to him. The man was far away, but he knew it would only be a matter of time until the bear found him. Come on, rookie, how long do you need to get that axe? The sound of Funtime Freddy's terrifying laughter filled the room, as he could still hear him knocking over the last few tables around him.
Meanwhile, William was struggling to find where the axe was. He tried checking the drawer with the weapons inside, but all that was there was that syringe he saw before. It must be here somewhere, I know it! This kept on going until he searched the bottom drawer, where he found a large and very sharp axe. The blade certainly looked large enough to cause some damage. The handle was a bit long, though, but other than that, it seemed like the perfect weapon.
Okay, I got the axe. Now I need to see what that man wanted this for. He knew it would take a lot of strength if he wanted to break through Funtime Freddy's suit, but maybe there was some other kind of plan in mind. Ah, forget it, I'm wasting time thinking about this. I have to leave now! He carefully picked up the axe and made his way to the room's exit, getting back inside of the auditorium.
Meanwhile, things weren't looking so good for the masked man. By this point, Funtime Freddy had knocked down or flipped nearly every table, and there were only three of them left now. Alright, rookie, if you have that axe, then please hurry up with it! I don't know how much longer I can keep at this for. This little game of hide and seek was giving him goosebumps, as he could hear Freddy loudly stomping towards the last three tables. That horrifying cackling only made things worse, and Freddy began taunting him again.
"You might as well just give up now! I've had my share of frustration, but there are only three more of these tables you could be hiding behind. Either I find you or you give yourself away, you'll die regardless! And I've been thinking about all the different ways I'm going to torture you. How about I bite and completely crush your hands? Or maybe twist and break all your limbs? The possibilities are endless!"
This thing is much more sadistic than I remember. Freddy's cackling continued, and he started walking even closer to the man. He didn't know he was there, but he had a strong feeling he was hiding behind there. The man could only hear the mechanical whirring getting louder, and prepared to fire his taser again. But it was at that moment that William walked out of the secret room, holding the axe, and then Freddy turned his head an entire one hundred and eighty degrees, staring at William.
You've got to be shitting me, he thought. The moment I walk out, he already notices. Looks like I came just in time, too. I don't think that man could've kept it going for too much longer. It looked like Funtime Freddy was done with playing this game of cat and mouse. His eyes were fixed onto William, and continued to speak.
"Look who finally came out to play! You know, I think I'm gonna have some fun mauling you before I get to whoever's hiding behind these tables! Baby said she wanted you alive, but she never said anything about your condition!"
Just then, he started charging at William like a bull to a red flag. He only had a few moments to analyze his options. I could try running back and hiding in the secret room...no, wait, he just broke down a metal door. That and I'd be trapped in a confined space, which just worsens my odds. Here I got all the space I need. I could try getting a good hit near his chest cavity. If that's where Freddy's power module is, then damaging it out could deactivate him. But I'd need to swing this axe incredibly hard for that.
Quickly running out of good options and with Freddy almost to him, he decided to try going for some kind of hit and dodge strategy. Just need to get him to flinch for a bit to run away. If I can't be stronger than him, then I need to be faster than him. And if I can't be faster than him, then I need to be smarter than him. Here goes nothing. As Funtime Freddy was still charging, about to reach him, William got out his axe, charged right back and prepared to fight.
At first it looked like Funtime Freddy was surprised that this tech guy decided to come at him instead of running away, but he didn't show any signs of stopping. But just when he was about to collide, William lifted and swung his axe at Freddy's chest. This gave Funtime Freddy a little shock, so he tried to dodge the attack, and so the axe didn't hit his chest cavity: but it did hit something else. Turns out Freddy was just not quick enough, and that William accidentally disconnected Bon-Bon from his arm, which made both of them flinch for a brief moment. Freddy gave out a slight yelp, but that was it. Bon-Bon's incredibly damaged body hit the ground with a loud bang.
Given the weight of the axe, though, William had trouble regaining his balance. The bad thing was that Funtime Freddy recovered just a second before he did, and before he knew it, he felt a heavy, cold, and tremendously strong force hit him right in the face, near his right eye. To put this into perspective, imagine that you just got punched in the face, with extreme force. Now imagine that fist is made of metal. The blow sent him falling down to the floor, with his head hitting the ground. He lost his grip on the axe as it hurled away from him.
God damn it, that hurt! William couldn't feel the right side of his face for a few seconds, until he could feel a tremendous amount of pain coming from the back of his head and his right eye. I knew he was strong, but I didn't know he could pack such a punch. His vision started blurring a bit, and he was having trouble seeing straight. He couldn't get up. He barely saw Funtime Freddy slowly walking towards him, who continued talking to him.
"You know, I actually have to thank you for that last move. Bon-Bon was really starting to get on my nerves. He just wouldn't shut up about how I should calm down, so I kept banging him until he stayed quiet. Least I won't have to be annoyed by him anymore."
"So glad I could help", William said sarcastically. "Agh...my face hurts so much..."
"Oh, don't worry, the real pain has only started."
"Come on, if this is about what I did to you three nights ago--"
"This isn't entirely personal, tech guy. I still hate you for spraying fire extinguisher in my optics, but I have other reasons. Besides, I'll take any chance of getting out of this prison than nothing."
William could barely focus on what Funtime Freddy was saying. He was too focused on how much pain he was in, and he couldn't see very straight, either, like everything around him was moving. Now, as Freddy was towering over him, he saw that Freddy seemed to be twitching out of control. He collapsed to the floor, and William saw that the man used the taser on Freddy. The man looked over at him and picked up the axe he dropped. Then he said to William,
"About time, rookie. Looks like he got you good. I think you've got a black eye there, mate. Now stay down. I'll handle this."
The masked man took ahold of the large axe, got his grip on it, and swung it down on Funtime Freddy's head. The first blow leaved a large dent in Freddy's metal helmet, before he tried a second blow, and this time it knocked off a small piece of his face-plating. When he tried to go in for a third blow, though, Funtime Freddy got back to his senses, and grabbed ahold of the axe handle before the masked man could deliver it. Even with only one hand he was incredibly strong, and yanked it loose out of the masked man's hands, and tossed it beside himself.
Luckily, the man was able to get a few feet away from Freddy before he had time to attack. But now, Freddy started to taunt him, much more hostile than before.
"That is it! I've had it with you! First you shoot at me, then you taze me twice, and now, you broke a part of my face off! You clearly must have some sort of death wish, buddy!"
His face-plates opened up again, roaring at the man. He instantly charged once again, hoping to pin the man down quickly, but the man just used his taser again and immobilized Freddy a third time. He fell to the ground and kept twitching. Oddly enough, his face-plates stayed open. The man saw this as an opportunity here.
I just need to make sure these stay open and I can get a good shot at the head. If the axe gets in deep enough, it'll damage the AI processor, which should shut him down. He didn't have enough time to get to his axe, so he decided that he needed the face-plates to stay open. The only weapon he had on him was a hunting knife, which wasn't going to do the trick. Maybe if I jam in there far bag enough, it will keep the face-plates from opening. He didn't have a lot of time left, so he went with his guess and jammed the hunting knife inside of Freddy's helmet.
The man hurried up, hoping he could get the axe with the little time he had left, but it wasn't enough, because Funtime Freddy got back up again. This time, though, he didn't just charge right after him like before. No, now he was running after the man like a wild animal. The man was fast, but Freddy was much faster. Freddy was able to send a crippling blow down the man's back, knocking him to the ground.
Funtime Freddy was now growling, angrily panting, and looked like he had enough of this game. It looked like the little trick work, as Freddy's faceplates were still open. The man tried to get up, only for Funtime Freddy to grab him by the neck, holding him in the air. As the man was gasping for breath, the bear started speaking again.
"Out of everybody down here that's managed to piss me off, you, sir, are the one that's pissed me off the most. So I'm going to make your death as slow and painful as possible, starting with this!"
Suddenly, he threw the man against the wall as hard as he could. The impact of the man's head being hit against the wall was even worse than when Freddy punched William in the face. The man fell to the ground on his head, knocking him unconscious. Funtime Freddy just laughed at it, not cackling, but actually laughing, like it was all some funny joke to him.
"That was priceless! The way he just flopped when he hit the floor! It's too funny!"
As Freddy was too busy laughing, he felt a very sharp sensation in his head. It felt very hard and painful, and let out a gasp. He was very confused at what the hell just happened, until he turned his eyes to his left and saw William, holding that axe from before, deeply lodged into his forehead. Funtime Freddy immediately crumpled down to the ground, deactivated for now, the axe still lodged deep within his endoskeleton. William just sat down and took a breath as it all happened right before him.
It took a lot of his will-power and strength to fight the pain and dizziness he experienced while trying to get ahold of the axe. Since Freddy didn't seem to be aware of him, he saw the opportunity to take him out once he was distracted by the masked man. It certainely wasn't the easiest move to pull off, but he wasn't complaining. It worked just fine, and now he was just trying to relax for a little bit.
Now stay down, you crazy son of a bitch. Well, at least if anyone asks about the black eye, I can just tell them, "You should've seen the other guy". That's one less problem to deal with, I guess. And he knocked the masked guy unconscious? At least he helped take care of that problem.
All William wanted now was some answers to his questions. Who the hell was this man in the mask? What did Funtime Freddy mean when he said Baby had something planned for him? There were many more of them, but he figured the only way he was getting the answer to any of those questions was to interrogate the man himself. Well, then, it's time to find out who you really are.
