________
Joy and Ajan went to the class and the news about the transfer student who fainted at the flag ceremony had been spread like wildfire but Ajan did not care about that. Azuna, her seat mate and also the top 9 of the class approached her after she was introduced and she told her that the person who last sat on the chair that Ajan was at transfered to another school but what shocked her the most was that no one on their class knew about Cammy's death and she was made to sit at the chair where he used to sit. There were vandalism on the table--three dots- the pen name of Cammy everytime he wrote her a love letter. She was shocked and the teacher was lost for words because he sensed that the new student knew something that shouldn't be announced to the class. The teacher approached her and tried to tell her to just be quiet but Ajan was already crying when he did and the whole class was focused on her sobbing. Joy, from the other side bit her lip to help herself from crying because the memory of Cammy dispersing into thin air was still fresh on her memory and it will never be erased, but the class did not know about his death and it would be a shock once Ajan announces it. She knew that she should prevent that from happening but she don't have the courage to even look at Ajan.
"You sure don't know anything." Ajan stood up from her chair and she knocked the teacher off to the ground. "So this school told you that Cammy transferred school huh."
Joy wanted to make her stop but she can't. There are so many people that were close to Cammy and they deserve to know the truth about his death.
"Why- what's wrong?" Henry asked when he saw that Ajan was crying.
"Stop now Ajan." their teacher said and he stood up. "I can forgive you for this if you shut up this instan-"
"Why would I shut up? WHY?!" Ajan shouted and the people from other class heard her because their teacher went to their classroom to tell her to keep her voice down. "Is that why none of you people came to his funeral? Because you don't know that he died?"
There was a scary silence that enveloped the class and the two teachers left the room because they had been terrified about the reaction of the students once they heard the truth.
"Our teachers told us that-"
"That he transferred? Just how gullible you are? He.. He died." Ajan cried.
"How could you know that? You are just a transferee who knows nothing! " Mari stood up and shouted at her while Nick went to her and comforted her.
"Yeah, sure I'm just an insignificant transfer student but I am Ajan." She said and showed everyone the table that had her name on it. Everybody recognized that it was Cammy's penmanship because it was beautiful and easy to read plus, it has been there throughout the year. Mari was shocked because Cammy told her about the gentlest human he knew--it was Ajan and to think that THE Ajan would be standing in front of her was surreal.
"When did he die?" Nick asked
"September 22." Ajan answered and Nick was shocked because it had been months and he just knew about his death.
"Why... How?" Nick asked.
"Sui... He-heart attack." Joy said and ran away from their room as fast as she could because she was afraid of being pushed into a corner. She did not want to dirt the beautiful memories of Cammy's life and she doesn't want everyone to remember him as someone who took his own life.
She was still running so fast when she came across a familiar person with the long white hair that was peeping on the window of the clinic. She approached the person and she also looked at the window but she saw nothing because the window had been tainted black. The person with pure white hair flinched at the sight of Joy and she tried to think of something that she could tell her because she made quite a memorable impression when she first saw her.
"Uhm..." She started and Joy looked at her.
"Oh, I'm Hope. You are?" Joy said and smiled at her.
"P-polaris." She replied and looked away because the sight of silver eyes made her feel a cold breeze.
"Nice to meet you. You came for your sister?" Joy asked and faced her.
"N-no! Of course not. I came to say I'm sorry I shouted." Polaris replied and looked down as Joy giggled.
"That's alright. Everyone makes mistakes." Joy replied. "But I was shocked to see someone like you."
"Like me that?"
"Shouts with an echo" Joy said and they both laughed at her awkward joke, however, to Polaris, she regarded Hope as someone she should never trust no matter what happened.
Everyone that passed them looked at Polaris' hair and thought that they might be dyed- but Joy knew that it was her syndrome. Polaris immediately attempted to cover her hair with the red hat she was carrying all along but Joy held her hand and smiled at her. She went at Polaris' back and arranged her hair for the hat to cover everything that needed to be covered.
"Th-thanks. But I did not ask for your help. I can do it on my own. Back off. " She said and snapped away the hands of Joy. "Now that I have apologized, I might as well leave you here because I still have a class to attend. Good bye alien"
"Wha- why are you calling me an alien?" Joy asked.
"Because you are weird. Super weird." Polaris replied and went away jumping while running on the hallway. Her red hat covered her white hair as she walked away and Joy doubted that the girl was to go to school. She was not even in her uniform. Joy followed her out the school to know where she would go and what she would do.
Polaris passed the nearest convenience store and bought some candies and some bread. She looked mature and she was tall enough that she nearly caught up with Joy's height but she must still be in junior high. She ate one candy while she gave the remaining ones to the children on the sidelines while she gave all the bread away to the homeless elderly. Joy smiled because Polaris was so kind and she have forgotten that she had serious anger management problems. A kid who hadn't received a candy threw some stones to her because he desperately wanted one- he never ate for the past days and he was so hungry. Polaris stood up and refrained from smiling to the elderly and faced the angry kid. She looked so mad and frightening like there was a killing intent on her eyes but the child maintained his stance to fight.
Polaris ran towards to boy while cussing. Her words obviously hurt the child and she startled all the by passers and the homeless on the area. The kid cried but she slapped him without regard to his feelings. One slap was enough to knock the starving boy on his knees and his nose started bleeding. Joy went to Polaris who attempted to step on the kid who was obviously unconscious.
"Leave us, asshole you stupid bitch!" Polaris screamed at Joy who looked directly at her eyes. Her eyes were scary because she really have a killing intent in her eyes. She meant every word she said--but Joy did not even have time to think about those because Polaris stepped on her as she protected the unconscious child.
"Do you know that you have serious anger problems?!" Joy screamed. "This boy- look at him- he's so poor and skinny! He must have been starving for days and you knocked him out with one slap. Now you want to step on him?"
"What do you care you ugly stupid bitch?! Stay away from this! Why do you keep in meddling with my business? You know? I hate you! I hate you!" Polaris shouted and she threw soil at her face. Joy was mad- incredibly mad in fact but she did not want to fight with an irrational person. She hated those kind of people immensely--especially the violent ones. Joy carried the boy and turned away from Polaris. "You know what? I don't care about my mission to save you anymore."
"What are you talking abou-"
Joy ran as fast as she could while she carried the hungry boy in her arms. The nose of the kid was no longer bleeding and he was almost conscious. Joy sensed that and she stopped by at a store to buy bread.
"Stay here." She told the boy and she came back as soon as possible and handed him the bread. "You awake now?"
"Y-yes. Thank you." The boy said and ate the bread.
"What's you name?" Joy asked him and watched him as he ate.
"I'm without a name." the kid said and looked down.
"Is that so? Do you want me to name you?" Joy asked enthusiastically.
"Really? You would do that for me?" The boy's eyes sparkled with joy as he ate and listened to her.
"Of course. Hmm, wait let me think." Joy said and thought hard. The kid was still small- perhaps he was 5 or 6- he had black hair and black eyes as well--and he was dirty from being on the street for too long. "How do you like the sound of Michael?"
"Michael... Michael... That's perfect! Thank you!" the kid exclaimed and almost cried. "Come to think of it- I still don't know your name."
"I am Hope." She said and smiled. "Can you walk now?"
"Yes."
"Then let's go have you checked."
The two of them walked side by side until they reached the small clinic that was already far from Joy's house. She made sure that Michael's treated before leaving.
"Hope?" A familiar voice called for her.
"Oh, Hi Nathan." Joy smiled at him.
"What are you doing here?" Nathan asked.
"I had a kid checked. How about you?" Joy asked him.
"Oh, I live there." Nathan pointed out the huge peach house beside the clinic.
"You live in such a huge house?! Woah!" Joy said, immersed by the beauty of the house.
"Well, my parents own a hospital and this clinic is also theirs." Nathan said shyly.
"That's amazing but I have to go now. Bye Nathan!" Joy said and left him behind. She looked at the sun setting in front of her and realized that Light still had his mission while she left Polaris all alone.
However, just as she was thinking about Light, he appeared from the convenience store where she last saw Polaris.
"Hope." Light said and looked at her.
"Why? Why is your face gloomy?" Joy asked, though she had the idea.
"Stellar.... Stellar died."
