4.5 Rage

After speaking with his father Raymond let's Mike know he will be headed home to get some rest. Mike calls him a pussy and skateboards away as Raymond takes out his phone once again to call the local taxi. While waiting for the cab, he glances back at the school and every window he looks in, kids are looking at him, staring like they just caught a murderer in the act. "Hurry up already!" he yells, even Raymond knows his reality is starting to slip into some sort of strange void.

After a quiet can ride home, he pays the fair, tips the driver and hops out of the vehicle. As he walks towards his building all he can think about is why his parents never told him. The question has been brewing a firey rage inside him since Mike let him in on the events of the previous day. He enters the building, blows past the attendant and goes straight into the waiting elevator, pacing the small space as it slowly dings for each floor it passes. The doors creek open and Raymond swiftly turns sideways as not to wait any longer to get right into his apartment. Speed walking down the hallway towards his unit, grabbing the door handle he shoves his key in the lock and turns it. He throws the door open now in a full state of rage and slams it behind him. As he takes his bookbag off he throws it across the small living room and goes straight towards his bedroom to get to the only place he wants to be, in bed.

As soon as he lays down he calls his father, no answer. He calls his mother, no answer. The rage begins to consume him as he raises his phone with intention to throw it straight at a wall, but he doesn't. Instead he slowly puts his phone down, his rage turns into sorrow and for the first time since being a child, he cries himself to sleep.
