CHAPTER 18

Harley looked at Ivy and back at the woman.

"I am not a puppet. No one can use me to do their deeds. I am... confused. You're right. I don't know much about love. I wake up from these.. these nightmares! My heart races. My body is shaking and sometimes I forget how to breathe. No matter how fucked up I am, I'm still human. I accept that most people hate me. Sometimes I'm weak. I'm vulnerable and sensitive and it piss's me off! So it can be easy for people to push me around. Like Mr. J. It wasn't love, it was using me! To do his dirty work! But no more will I let that happen." Harley explained.

Tears streamed down her cheeks. "But one thing I do know, is that I was in love with him. Blinded by his... his fake love! So, like I said... you don't know anything about me, lady." With that Harley shot the bullet into the woman's chest. Making her fall down.

"Quinn, we have some company." Ivy said as she pointed outside. It was police arriving. There were about a dozen. Surrounding the place.

"Then I guess we better get outta here." Harley replied. "Not yet."

"What do you mean not yet? Is there something else you need to do?" She asked.

"Yeah, lets go." Ivy grabbed her wrist and pulled her with her. "Wait. First we can't have these bozos stopping us." Harley said as she stopped. She took a big shelf and with the help of Ivy's vines she blocked it off so that they couldn't follow them.

They opened the door to the next room and started walking.

"That should hold them off for a while. We better hurry, red. What are we do-in anyways?"

"I need something. It's here somewhere."

"Well, what does it look like?"

"It's like a small orb. It's bright green. You'll know it when you see it." Ivy exclaimed.

For a moment as they hurried to look for the orb all they heard were police sirens. Until, finally Ivy spoke.

"So, what happened back there, Quinn? You hesitated to shoot her. Why?" Ivy asked.

"It's nothing. It doesn't matter. What matter's is this. We need to hurry. I can't go back to Arkum." Harley shook her head. They continued to search without any luck of finding it. They started to hear the police knocking down the shelf. It was a big heavy metal shelf.

"We gotta get outta here, red."

"No, it has to be here somewhere!" Ivy rummaged through more stuff.

"Ivy, we have to go!" Harley yelled as the shelf came down. Ivy looked over to see the police running towards her and Harley.

"Fine." Ivy said as she grabbed Harley and bursted through the roof. She used her vines to escape and trap everyone inside. "That will keep them busy for now." Ivy exclaimed.

"You almost got us caught!" Harley said.

"I'm not the only one who almost messed up this mission!"

"What? You're the one who decided to wait until the last second! It's not my fault we almost failed!" They argued.

"Almost failed?! Please, Harley quit being so dramatic. We were fine. The only problem is that we didn't find the orb." Ivy said.

They slowly went down to the ground. Eventually they stopped arguing.

"I checked the safe." Ivy spoke calmly.

"The safe? What safe?"

"When we were looking for the orb there was a safe. It was supposed to be in it, but it wasn't." She turned to look at Harley. "We haven't finished, Quinn. We have to get that orb. I think I know someone who can help us." She explained.

"Who?" Harley asked.

"His name is, Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot. But, you may know him as, The Penguin." Ivy raised her eyebrows as she spoke his name.
