Train Ride

As the four of us started to make conversation, Ava noticed the watch on my wrist.

"Jake, what kind of watch is that?"

"It's something I made in my spare time, I'll show you what it does another time." I wasn't ready to show any of them what I had made. Sure, I suppose I trust them, but I basically just met all of them, I need to warm up to them first.

The reason for this is because the watch on my wrist is the new A.I. I made past seven years. These seven years must have been the most productive years I have ever had. In terms of martial arts, I won an amateur national boxing tournament and reached black belt for Kung fu (hand to hand and sword wielding).

Aside from all that, thanks to Merlin's notes on occlumency, I was able to reach a level where I created two mind palaces for my two lives. Furthermore, I am capable of creating fake memories. Without Merlin's notes I sincerely doubt I could have achieved such mastery before Hogwarts. I'm afraid of what could have happened if I didn't have Merlin's notes.

Now to the most exciting part: my A.I. I named it Jarvis in honor of Tony Stark. I'm still not over his death. Jarvis will provide me with excellent advantages. He has such rapid calculating speeds that given enough time, he could come up with better recipes for potions, more concise wand movement to cast spells and much more. All of that can only be possible if I let him scan enough books, otherwise he won't have any way to carry out research.

As we continue talking, I suddenly ask the girls "hey Ava, I don't think I've ever hear the family names Walker and Baker, are you both muggle-born?" As soon as they heard the last part, they gave me a Cedric guarded stares. "No no! I have nothing against muggles, I'm just curious." Seeing that they were still cautious of Cedric, he quickly remedied the situation for himself "I'm the same as Jake, I have nothing against muggles." At that point both of them seemed to relax.

"Yes we are both muggle-born, I was at Ava's house when we both received the Hogwarts admissions letter."

Ava smiled at that and continued "yes, it was a huge shock for both of our families, our parents were ecstatic at first, but then, we got so many dirty glares from some rich looking people in Diagon Alley that my parents decided to ask some shop owners why we were getting such glares. The answer made my parents far less happy about me going to Hogwarts than they previously were."

Cedric gave a sympathetic smile and reassured "don't worry, those are only the pure-blood fanatics, you just have to ignore them."

When the girls seemed to relax a bit at Cedric's comment, we were disturbed by what looked like the most egotistical brat I have ever seen followed by stupid sidekick 1 and 2. The boy looked at me and formed what I assume he thinks is a charming smile and said "You're Jake King right? I'm Max Rosier, nice to meet you. Could I send these two muggle girls away so I may join you?" Oh goody, I have my very own Malfoy to torment, God is so thoughtful.

Ava and Sophie's eyes widened in surprise at the comment. I gave Max the best fake smile I could and said "I can't say it's nice to meet you too Max. Cedric and I are perfectly fine with Sophie and Ava here, so why don't you make your way to another compartment?"

Max's eyes looked like they were on the verge of popping out. You looked at me outraged and exclaimed "you're a muggle lover! You disgrace the wizarding community!"

"You know Max, some babies are dropped on their heads but you, you were clearly thrown at a wall. Now do us all a favor and fuck off" I tell Max with with an annoyed face. Ced, Ava and Sophie snorted at my comment. Max's face was so livid he looked as though he was about to implode.

Stupid sidekick numero uno glares at me and starts to say something when I take out my wand and point it at the door, sliding it shut and locking it. "Much better" I say with a satisfied smile. Cedric gives me a fist bump and says "dude, that was awesome."

"I know right, it was fun too, I can't wait till next time." After a few laughs, Sophie and Ava start to thanks us when I interrupt them. "There's no need to thank me, you two are my friends and insulting my friends is insulting me."

After a few more hours, we finally arrive at our destination. As we exit the train, we hear a booming voice say "first years! Follow me!" The four of us get on a boat together and make our way across the lake towards Hogwarts. As it comes into sight, I hear Ava give a gasp beside me and whisper, "it's magnificent." I give a nod at that and stare at the castle with her.

The movies don't do it justice, it's simply awe inspiring. Once we finally get to the castle, Prof. Mcgonagall gives us all the details about the sorting ceremony and then leads us to the hall. This is it. The moment I've awaited for so long.
