Rescue Continued

"What?! Ren Lennon is here! In this building?" Mr. King burst. "Well, now we don't have to go after him ourselves. Make sure to capture him."

"Sir, I don't think capture is possible," doubted the agent. "He's prepared to kill. He has already killed the receptionist!"

"I see. Then we'll have to kill him before he kills anyone else here. Inform everyone to go after his right side, that's his weak spot." Mr. King hung up the phone and stood from his desk chair. "Sorry Ren, but we can't trust someone who killed nearly 8,000 people, and now you've killed one of our employees. That's unforgivable." Mr. King walked out of his office and headed towards the elevator.

The second floor below the lobby floor had a maze of cells. The only entrance to the floor was the elevator. The elevator led to a small waiting room with benches against the wall for visitors to wait. Between the waiting room and the cells was considerably large office room for the guards to check people in and out. The office was centered with a door on the left and right leading to the hallways where the cells are.

Four agents were standing just in front of the office, waiting for the elevator doors to open. More guards were in the guard office, ready to assist if things went wrong. The elevator doors opened and a huge barrage of ranged attacks filled the elevator.

"Where is he!?" shouted one of the agents. Ren dropped from the ceiling of the elevator and shot towards the agents. The agents tried to give off another wave of attacks, but Ren moved too fast for them.

Ren slid on the ground past two agents while grabbing their legs, causing them to fall.

BOOM!

Ren then jumped up and smashed both of their faces into the ground killing them instantly. The other two guards launched another ranged attack, but Ren jumped and landed on a wall and used it as a launchpad to shoot himself at one of the agents.

SMASH!

Ren grabbed the face of the agent and slammed it against the wall, then turned to face the other agent. The agent formed a bow out of pure magic and shot an arrow. Ren stopped the arrow by grabbing it out of the air.

BOOM!

The arrow exploded after Ren grabbed it, forming smoke in the room.

"Yes! I got him!" the agent screamed triumphantly.

SLAM!

Ren emerged from the smoke and rocketed his fist into the agents face, propelling the agent through the guards' office glass window. The guards gazed at the body of the agent, cut and bleeding, glass stinking out of his body.

"That was fortified glass, yet he sent him flying through it!" one of the guards panicked. Ren appeared in the windowsill, his eyes glowing with a smile on his face.

"Ms. Carter, is there any way that you could get this bracelet off of me?" asked Ms. Croft.

"Yes, there is actually," replied Isabella. "Hand me your wrist." Ms. Croft looked at her suspiciously. "I can't get it off of you if I don't plug the bracelet into my computer."

Ms. Croft gave in and moved her wrist over to the computer, still pointing the pistol at Isabella.

"So... how do you know about the facilities?" asked Isabella as she began typing on her computer to release the bracelet.

Ms. Croft thought it over carefully before answering. "Well, if you must know, I used to be in one of the facilities."

"Which one?"

"Burtgundy."

"So there were more survivors than just Ren, and why are you working with him?"

"Well, it's complicated."

"What are your plans if you escape from here."

"Oh, wouldn't you like to know."

"No, it's just... I made the connection just now. I'm not the top hacker here for nothing. My ability improves how fast my brain can interpret code and workout formulas and things like that. I noticed how much Ren wanted to find leads to other facilities, and now he is working with you. You both had awful experiences there didn't you."

Ms. Croft began to hesitate. "I may have to kill this woman; she is way too smart. She could be a major hinderance to us."

"You know where the other facilities are, don't you." Isabella stopped typing and looked at Ms. Croft. Ms. Croft was startled by this. "That look on your face tells me you do. I want to help you." Ms. Croft was in shock now. "When I was young, my parents were taken from me to one of those facilities. My parents hid me before they were captured and taken from me. It wasn't till later that I found out that they were in one of the facilities. I don't know if they are alive anymore though. That's why I became a hacker and joined this association; to do everything I can to find them. If you know where they are I want to help!" Tears were now in Isabella's eyes.

Ms. Croft lowered the pistol and sighed, "Fine." The bracelet popped off of Ms. Croft's wrist. She felt her power spring back to life. However, Isabella was still hard at work typing.

"Now, what are you doing?" questioned Ms. Croft.

I'm setting up different identities for Ren, his two friends, and myself. You don't need one though. I've already made it look like you never entered this place. You can keep your identity."

"She's going to be a huge help to us." Ms. Croft marveled.

The guards pulled out submachine guns and began to fire at Ren. However, he vanished, then appeared behind one of guards. He thrust his hand through the guard's back and pulled out his intestines, then grabbed the guard's gun and began to shoot the guard next to him while using the dead guard's body as a shield. He ran out of ammo, so he tossed the gun aside and thrust the dead body at the other guards, knocking them all down.

The guards quickly threw the body off of them, but Ren was already in front of them. With a pencil in hand he stabbed the pencil in the eye of one of the guards. Then leapt back to dodge the bullet fire from the others. They ran out of bullets in their magazines, so they switched to daggers they had on their belts.

There were four guards left. Two rushed Ren, while the other two stood by behind. One guard thrust his dagger forward. Ren dodged then grabbed the arm of the guard while spinning.

CRACK!

Ren whipped his fist back into the face of the other guard who had charged, knocking him flat on his back. While still holding the arm of the guard, he dodged a punch by the guard and slammed his own fist into the guard's face. After, he forced the dagger out of his hand a threw the knife into the neck of one of the guards standing by.

There was only one guard left now who looked absolutely frightened. His hand holding the dagger was trembling. In a panic, the guard made a wild slash with his dagger. Ren dodged by simply leaning back.

BAM!

Ren slammed his fist into the right side of the guard's face, sending him into the wall.

Ren looked for the keys to the cells. In plain view, they were hanging on a hook nailed into the wall.

"Bingo," Ren smiled.
