Outmatched

Ren grabbed the keys off the hook and stepped back into the hallway.

"Cells eight and nine was it?" Ren recalled. Ren sprinted around, trying to find someone that looked like Lorraine or Eric. All the while, the other inmates were shouting at Ren to let them out, but Ren ignored them.

"Ray? Ren heard this voice and turned and saw Lorraine standing there behind bars. Tears began to form in her eyes.

"You don't look good behind bars," Ren joked.

"Oh, shut up and let me out!" snapped Lorraine.

"I'll explain everything later. Oh, and call me Ren. I hate the name Ray."

Ren inserted the key to the cell door and unlocked it. Ren swung the door open and hugged Ren. Ren hugged her back.

"Thanks for the help back on campus. I wouldn't have lived if it wasn't for you two." Ren looked at the cell next to Lorraine's. Sitting in the cell was Eric.

"I mean it Eric, I'm sorry I got you all caught up in this," Ren apologized.

Eric threw Ren a nasty look. "This is all your fault, you little shit! Now my life's ruined. If I get out of this cell, all they're going to do is chase after me!"

"But if you don't leave, who knows how long you will be behind bars." Ren could tell Eric didn't like the sound of that as his expression hardened. "Eric, join me and I'll get you out of here. If we survive, I'll let you beat me as hard as you want everyday. I'll let you even rip my arms off, if you can." Eric smiled at the thought of ripping Ren's arms off and forcing him to crawl on the ground.

"Everyday?" Eric restated.

"Everyday," Ren confirmed.

"Get me out of this damn cell."

Ren smiled and inserted the key and turned. Eric stepped out of the cell. All three then turned and headed towards the elevator.

Ren pressed the button and as they waited for the elevator doors to open, Ren explained their plan of action, "Listen, they are probably going to have all the agents on the lobby floor since the only way from here to there is this elevator, and that's the only way out of the building. No matter what happens, you two do whatever you can to get to that entrance. Don't worry about me, just get outside of this building. So here's my plan..."

"READY ALL AGENTS! THE INTRUDER HAS TO USE THIS ELEVATOR TO GET TO THIS FLOOR AND THIS FLOOR IS THE ONLY WAY OUT! AS SOON AS THE DOORS OPEN, GIVE IT EVERYTHING YOU GOT!" yelled a senior agent. All the agents stood ready. They looked like a black sea due to the number of agents present.

The numbers above the elevator lit up. First, it was the number 2, then 1, then the lobby floor. They heard a small ding and the elevator doors opened.

"FIRE!"

An entire slew of attacks filled the elevator for an entire three minutes. Explosions and blasts filled the ears of everyone present as smoke began to fill the room.

'HOLD!"

The attacks stopped and the smoke, dust, and debris slowly cleared to reveal Ren standing with his arms extended. His clothes were torn and bloodied as he stood there, breathing heavily. His body was covered in deep cuts and holes where chunks of flesh were missing.

"How the hell is he still alive from an attack like that!" they wondered.

Ren whispered something, but the agents couldn't really make it out. Some agents felt something whish by them, but the room was still covered in smoke, blurring everyone's vision.

"Thanks... Eric," Ren mumbled under his breath.

"READY!"

"Hold on," ordered Mr. King. All of the agents stopped and shifted their gaze towards where the voice came from. Mr. King stepped out from the shadows along the wall and began to walk towards Ren.

Ren's wounds stopped bleeding and slowly healed.

"That's pretty remarkable regeneration," commented Mr. King. "How about you and me fight. I'll wait until your wounds are healed, which doesn't look too far from being done."

"A fight... to the death?" breathed Ren.

"Correct. For the lives that you took, I'm going to take yours."

Ten minutes later, Ren's wounds were healed, but was tired from the regeneration.

"Looks, like you're done," observed Mr. King. Mr. King sent out a huge amount of pressure. All the agents around him began to feel sick. "Stay back gentlemen, I don't want anyone else caught up in this."

"Holy shit! He was restraining his power when I met him the first time! There's absolutely no way for me to beat him!" Ren marveled.

"Ms. Croft, shift to phase two." Ren whispered so no one else heard him.

Ren got ready. Mr. King raised his hand and Ren's body began to rise.

"What the hell!" Ren panicked. Mr. King moved his hand.

SMASH!

Ren's body flew into the wall.

SMASH!

Mr. King then flung him into the other wall, then the ceiling. Next, the floor. Mr. King then released him. Ren dropped to the floor, battered and bruised.

Mr. King then began to levitate the desks and launched them at Ren. Ren stood up and jumped right to dodge one, but another one was already on its way. Ren dropped to the floor as the desk flew over his head smashing into the ground.

Mr. King then 'borrowed' the daggers hid under the pant legs of the agents. Hundreds of daggers flew into the air and towards Ren. Ren jumped, twisted, and dodged any which way he could to try and avoid them, but the ones that missed turned right around and came back at him.

Ren was slashed and stabbed repeatedly.

"Damn, he's even able to break my skin with just these daggers!" Ren cursed.

The daggers dropped to the ground and Ren felt a pressure clasp itself around his body as he was lifted into the air. Ren began to yelp in pain as the pressure continued to increase. The bones in his body began to break, one by one.

Ren's body was slowly being pulled towards Mr. King. When his body reached Mr. King. The pressure stopped squeezing, but Ren was still unable to move as he was suspended in front of Mr. King. A dagger flew into his hand and he stabbed it into Ren's right side.

"So this is where you're core lies, I wonder what it looks like," stated Mr. King as he began to cut a deep slit into Ren's side. Ren glared at Mr. King while clenching his teeth in pain. Mr. King then removed the dagger and inserted his hand. Mr. King felt something round not too far in Ren's side and pulled it out. Mr. King looked at it then crushed it. Mr. King then winded his arm back.

POW!

Mr. King punched Ren's stomach so hard he blew a hole through Ren. Ren coughed up blood and dropped the floor as Mr. King released him.

Ding!

Mr. King turned to look at the elevator with a confused look on his face.

WHOOSH!

A huge ball of flame filled the lobby pushing everyone back from the center of the room. Even Mr. King had to move back a little to avoid getting burned.

The ball of flame burned for a good four minutes, preventing anyone from approaching it, before it slowly died down.

The ball of flame blew itself out and Ren's body was gone.
