I will do things my own way

''Prosecutor Ann, I am bored. I heard you are a suspect now too? You were with Garcia Ambrose before he died?'' Carlos Ryan said with a smug.

''I see you are spending your time here productively. Say, should I make sure you get to spend a lot more years here?'' Rosa asked. They were still in the same position. Rosa was standing up while Carlos Ryan was sitting though they were close to each other, their voices were unusually high.

''Prosecutor Ann, make sure you keep your promise''. Carlos Ryan said and stood up and walked out of the waiting room. Rosa's hand was now in her pocket as she also went out.

......….

Rosa turned on her laptop before removing the drive from her pocket. The note Garcia left also fell out of her pocket. Rosa picked it up and read the note sarcastically ''don't look for me unless you want the killer to get rid of us both''

Rosa chuckled and put the paper back in her bag before sitting down with the drive. He inserted it and started to play it. It was a video of Carlos Ryan. Rosa looked at the sleeping beauty on her bed and decided to use her earpiece instead. she didn't want to wake Scarlet up. It was already late at night.

''Prosecutor Ann, I am really glad I got to give this to you before the trial. I really need your help with something. I want you to convict me during the trial. I will plead guilty to all the crimes. You might not know this but I've always had a feeling that something dangerous was going to happen to me very soon. You know my parents are dead right? But, I never told anyone why or how they died. Fifteen years ago. There was a bus accident. My father was the driver at that time. I wasn't in Blue Town at that time. I was in Virginia with my mother. We only came back to Blue Town when we learnt about the accident. My father and a particular young girl were the only survivors but my father was dragged to court for drunk-driving and later sentenced to death by hanging at the court. My father died a shameful death and my mom couldn't handle the shock and grieve and soon also passed away.''

''Off course, you won't find this information in the investigations records because the case and its data was wiped away from the system that year''

''Recently, I was trying to appeal the case again so I started investigating the accident. I haven't found anything yet but I am sure there was a foul play somewhere. The higher ups, your superiors and those powerful people are trying to shut me up because they don't want me to bring up that case''

''I am sorry that you were the one caught up in all of this. It is because of me. I only found out yesterday that you were the girl who my father managed to save at that time in the bus accident before the bus exploded''

''Prosecutor Ann, I know I have no right to ask you for this favour but, I need you to reinvestigate the accident back then and also find the real killer. You can only do that if you remain a prosecutor. Don't risk anything. I know you are a righteous person and you remember I told you that your eyes gave you away?''

''I was being honest Prosecutor Ann. You might look tough and stubborn but, you are actually a kind person.

Please, don't try to set me free. I know you have the evidence that could set me free but don't do it. You will only lose your job when you do that. You will lose everything you have struggled to build. Don't do that for me.

Prosecutor Ann, the killer is probably the same one who tempered with the bus at that time. I don't know him yet but I am sure he is a powerful person that is why your superiors are protecting him. He is a dangerous person; you have to be careful.

When I heard this morning that Garcia Ambrose was found dead and you were with him, I was worried for you. Somewhat, I feel that if you continue to dig into this case, the people around you will be in danger. Don't provoke him by doing anything in a rush.

But, I am glad I was able to meet you. the girl my father saved. You have grown up to be a very beautiful and responsible woman. My father will be happy to see that you are living well. See you in court soon, Prosecutor Ann''.

Rosa sighed and couldn't stop the tears from flowing. She couldn't stop crying. She always thought that she and Carlos had nothing in common but now she realised they had a lot of connection. A deeper connection than she had imagined.

She didn't even know he was the son of the man who saved her that year. Had it not being for that driver, she would have already died just like those school children.

Rosa could still remember that day vividly well in her mind. She had never forgotten of that day.

Rosa stood up and closed the laptop before going out. She went to her mother's room and opened the door.

Gloria George was sleeping when she felt the bed sinking. She knew it was her first daughter. Rosa laid behind her mother and hugged her while sobbing.

''Why are you crying?'' Gloria George asked.

''Nothing mom. I just missed you. Mom. Have I told you how much I love and appreciate you?''

''Silly girl. What's wrong? Are you having a hard time?''

Rosa nodded her head and Gloria George turned and faced her. she pulled Rosa into her embrace and hugged her as they laid on the bed.

''Do you want to talk about it? You know mom is always here to listen to you?''

''Later, mom, later. Right now, I need to recharge. Mom, give me some of your energy. I need lots of it for storage''.

''Take all you need. If is not enough, I will wake Kylie up and let her share her energy with you. if that is still not enough, we will wake up all the moms in this world and they will share their energy with you'.

''Won't that be going overboard?'' Rosa asked and chuckled.

''Who cares? My daughter needs energy. Who are they to reject? Sleep Rosa. Tomorrow will worry about its self''.

Rosa nodded and closed her eyes.

That same night.

The masked man stood outside Rosa's apartment. He looked at the apartment with a cold and darkened gaze and smirked sadistically. He was really waiting to see the kind of decision she will make tomorrow. He was going there to watch the whole proceedings himself and see just what she was really capable of. She wanted to show him an interesting show? Well, he was up for the challenge. A challenge wasn't that bad especially when it came from the woman he loved.
