Diagon Alley

Mrs. Epperson gave in seeing how important this was for everyone despite still holding reservations, she just wanted her son to stay safe.- "Alright, you can go, but be extra careful not to forget about your eyes, don't make me worry."

Trenton excitedly jumped up hugging his mom- "Yes, thank you, thank you, I won't forget, and I'll become really good at magic so no one can hurt me or you guys."

The goblin came a short time later saying their time was up and ushered them out. Professor McGonagall hung back to have a few words, telling them she would be right with them.

Once the families were out of earshot she turned to the goblin and handed over 100 galleons.

"This is for you to keep quiet about his eyes and in the future, if you should require more, you can come to Hogwarts and ask directly from Albus Dumbledore," Professor McGonagall said, happily throwing the weight of the headmaster around.

Goblin- "Duly noted, please return to Gringotts whenever you have any more business to discuss."

Outside the Professor met with the family one last time- "Well I think that covers just about everything, but the best way to learn is to do it yourself, so I'll be taking off and leave you to it, just remember the maps and you can, of course, ask any of the shopkeepers should you need help, though they will likely ask for compensation."

Mr. Granger- "Will we be fine here as... muggles I believe you call it?"

Professor McGonagall grinned to put them at ease- "Nothing to be afraid of, this is not much different than the muggle world when it comes with interacting with people, as long as you stay in Diagon Alley no one would dare try anything, this place is more protected than you think, can't let potential customers get hurt or be scared away after all."

Mrs. Epperson- "Thank you for all you've done, I feel better knowing you'll be at Hogwarts teaching our kids."

Professor McGonagall smiled- "Why thank you dear, I'll be happy to teach them."

Trenton had one last question- "Um, Professor, do we really need these robes for school, it's a bit weird."

Professor McGonagall- "Well its sort of a tradition, plus they aren't just regular robes, they have protection charms on them so you'll be protected while in school, this was determined the easiest way to provide them for everyone."

Trenton kicked the ground- "Okay, I guess the protection thing sounds pretty cool."

Mrs. Epperson gave his head a rub- "You better wear it, you hear me."

Trenton sighed- "Yes mom."

Mrs. Granger feeling left out said the same thing to Hermione- "You to Hermione, stay safe."

Hermione, not use to her mother singling her out like that pouted- "You don't have to tell me that."

Professor McGonagall gave her final goodbyes- "Oh and before I forget, electronics don't work in Hogwarts, don't wish the students to be distracted." she said and Apparated away.

Trenton immediately reacting- "Oh cool, real Teleportation! Did you see that, when will I learn that, that's much better than having to use the fireplace."

Mr. Epperson wide-eyed from the event, offhandedly answered- "I'm sure you'll learn it in school." He was starting to become envious of his son, why did he have to be born without magic.

Mr. Epperson gave his son a nudge- "Hey son if you learn a way for me to do magic, be sure to let me know."

Mrs. Epperson snorted- "I don't even trust you to clean the house if you had magic you would just end up blowing yourself up."

Mr. Granger had his mouth open about to agree with Mr. Epperson only to hear him get shot down before he even said anything, resulting in him quickly closing his mouth. Causing his wife and daughter who noticed to giggle at his expense as well as the deflated Mr. Epperson from his wife's tongue lashing.

The families now on their own went back down the Alley to do their school shopping.

They surprisingly found many muggle devices, though with a magical twist, oftentimes making it far better than the muggle version.

Despite wizards cutting off muggles from the wizardry world, you still had muggle wizards being born that were integrated into their world. The muggle-born entrepreneurs saw the potential of the market and brought in muggle products into the wizardry world. Despite backlash from purebloods, the popularity of certain items could not be stopped.

They looked around at all the neat magical items and gadgets while shopping.

They first made their way to the recommended Ollivanders wand shop, but Trenton instantly felt this wasn't a good place. The shop was narrow and shabby with peeling gold letters over the door of the shop which read: Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.

Trenton- "This doesn't seem like a very good place to buy a wand."

Hermione- "Well the Professor said this is where she got hers."

Trenton chuckled- "Yeah but she's probably as old as this shop, I bet it wasn't like this back then."

Hermione gave him a smack on the arm- "Hey don't talk about the Professor like that, she did so much for us."

Trenton- "I was just joking around, I'm sorry okay, I didn't mean anything by it."

Mr. Epperson- "Well are you kids going in?"

Trenton- "Let's peek inside first."

They went to the window and looked inside and saw another young boy with glasses receiving a wand. He then flicked it causing items to go flying off the shelves, they then watched as he received a different wand and this time when he was about to flick it they instinctively ducked before looking back to see him break a flower vase with water causing another huge mess.

Trenton having seen enough backed away- "Come on Hermione I saw another wand shop that looked far nicer and more modern, we don't want to be buying a wand that's already been broken, the guys nuts to be allowing him to wave his wand around inside."

This shop was newer in a modern white square building with nice big clean windows. After entering they were greeted by a man's voice coming from behind the counter,- "If you're here to purchase a wand for your kid, please read the sign and act accordingly, if your here for a custom made wand you'll have to apply for a reservation."

The sign told them to hover their hands over the boxed wands neatly placed on the shelves and to walk around feeling for the one that provided the least resistance.

Kid wands were provided as a starter and didn't come with any enhancements, they were strictly for learning. Only After growing up and graduating would they be allowed to buy personalized wands that they could customize in different magical ways to better suit their needs. Some of these ways may further require a special license if one wanted more dangerous upgrades usually reserved for those directly employed by the British Ministry of Magic.

Such laws became more stringent after the war against the dark lord.

The kids did as instructed and easily found good wands that they purchased.

Eventually ending up at the bookstore where they spent a great deal of time thanks to their two booklover children. Trenton didn't forget to buy a book on magical creatures so he could look up vampires as well as all the other cool things out there.

Trenton more than done could only sigh at how Hermione was far too engrossed in reading everything she could.- "Hermione do you want to go check out the magical pet store?" he asked only to feel like he was talking to himself as she didn't hear a single thing he said.

Mrs. Granger- "It's okay Trent, you can go ahead, it's better Hermione doesn't since we don't feel she's ready yet to have a pet."

Trenton- "Oh, I hope she isn't too upset when I get one."

Mrs. Granger wryly smiled- "It's fine, I'll buy her a few more books to keep her occupied."
