Disregarded him

After the couple had their meal, they enjoyed the movie together. Aaric thought that she would fall asleep just at the starting, but instead, she was completely immersed the entire time. It was only when the movie was about to finish and only half an hour was remaining, that she dozed off.

He carefully pulled the blanket up to her chin and silently gazed at her. It had been such a long time since he had such a peaceful moment. He did not want to ruin this moment but a call destroyed it. He angrily grabbed his phone and looked at the caller ID.

Though he did not want to ruin his time right now, he had to take this call. He walked towards the balcony and closed the sliding door behind him. He swiped the answer button and placed it beside his ear.

"Boss, we have found some evidence from that chip. It seems this guy had enough proof about the underhand dealings done by his boss. I think he wanted to blackmail him to extort money. Also, I have mailed you the necessary ones and also each and every details or files which we got from this. I will be discarding this radio set."

With this the person on the other side ended the call. All the people working for Aaric from the S Team used a radio transmission set. After calling and informing the person, the radio set had to be discarded. That set did not need any kind of sim card, it would directly get access from the signal tower and connect to the person. Since these sets do not have any fixed number or tracking ID, it was impossible for anybody to track the location of the set. Even the caller ID would show random alphabets and numbers. So for a person working for such clans, these sets were very useful.

While Aaric's grip tightened on the railing. He was looking at a distant with cold eyes. He was not a heartless man but if anybody touched his bottom line, nobody could stop him from being heartless. And his wife Sasha is her bottom line. Nobody has the right to even lay a finger on her, leaving the rest of the things.

By the tme Sasha opened her eyes, it was already half past seven. All the bustling sounds of firecrackers kept on pestering her to wake up. No matter how much she tried to cover her ears, she could not sleep. Especially after realising that Aaric was not inside the room. Reminiscing about the earlier events, she recalled that they both were watching a movie together. But she fell asleep before the movie could finish.

She was still feeling a bit dizzy but still she gathered up her courage to stand up. Before she could place her legs down and stand up from the bed, Aaric came inside from the balcony. He strode towards her and grabbed her hand to help her.

Sasha looked at him and asked him as she looked outside the window.

"Is there any kind of celebration outside?"

"No. Why do you ask?"

"Then that sound…"

"Ohh… some people are burning firecrackers near the shore."

"Okay. I will go and fresh up." Before Sasha could force herself to stand up, Aaric stopped her.

"Wait, hold on! Let me get your slippers." Aaric quickly took out her slippers from the shoe rack below the side table. He helped her to wear them before wrapping his right hand around her waist and with the other one he held her right hand. Sasha was getting hesitant and nervous while they both were moving forward towards the bathroom. Sensing her nervousness, Aaric comforted her and said.

"I will get one of the maids to help you out. Just sit on this stool until she comes up. Okay?"

Hearing his words, Sasha felt relieved and she obediently nodded her head.

He patted her head and left the room. In the corridor he asked one of the maids to help their madam to freshen up, while he headed downstairs towards the bar. In the cellar, he felt that drinking might reduce his gloominess. He could not understand why he was feeling that but deep down he felt hurt. Would he have ever expected for such a day in his life? No, not even in his dreams.

He grabbed one bottle of red wine and a glass before walking towards the couch. He placed the bottle on the table and took out his phone from his pocket. He thought of calling his buddies as it had been a while since they had a conference call. He opened his group chat box to check whether anybody is free.

He texted whether everyone is free for having a conference call or not. He waited for their replies but the replies he received from his friends were totally something unexpected.

Alleyn shared a picture of him and Amanda enjoying in their balcony cuddling with each other, while Elijah sent a picture where he was enjoying a meal with his wife. So at the end, the only person who was free to accompany Aaric was Grorge. Did his friends just disregarded him for their wives?
