One year later...

I had a very lucky pregnancy, I barely vomited in the beginning. Unlike the first one, I really had nothing to do here except watching as the little life grows. Dominik worked a lot, as he had to complete the one-and-a-half-year project in 1 year, but he got home for dinner every night, and before going to bed, he always bowed his head on my stomach, waiting for the baby to kick him. He wouldn't let go of that. It felt really good to go to bed with the knowledge that little Nic would be born into a loving family. The birth also went smoothly, which was surprising because I suffered a lot on this part for the twins. I don't know if the professional private doctor or the experience helped me… but the fact is that, the barely 4 hours of labor was nothing.

When my little son was handed to me, I felt as if I had flown back in time to get a new chance at life. I have repeated to myself a hundred times that I am not committing the mistakes of the past. I will raise my little son pampered and with endless adoration and care. Looking at Dominic, I am caught up in the fear that there will be no strict parent in this family… but it will develop somehow. After he cut the umbilical cord and the proud father could take his successor in his arms, he looked at me with endless gratitude.

I heard the word "Thank you" from him many times after that day. Actually I never knew if he told me because I had given birth to his child, or he told Nic because Dominic was glad he was born… it was difficult to decide.

Anyway, he inherited my beautiful blue eyes and his father's black hair. We brought together a wonderful baby.

Next to Nic, after 1 month, I was able to go on a romantic dinner with my husband because the baby didn't get up from 8pm to 4am. Because he slept a lot during the day, I was more rested than ever. Of course, on the news of the birth, the paternal grandparents immediately boarded the plane and stayed with us for two weeks. So my first two weeks were about resting because I only got the baby for feeding. I hadn't said anything to my family at the time. My parents sometimes called me to tell me how much better Mother Mili is than me… and how ungrateful I am to just step down for a year. The boys only searched when they wanted to make me buy something for them, and Kevin sometimes asked me if I was alright. This was my family… Compared to them…my mother-in-law asked for a pictures of the baby on a daily basis, I was called by them every day, and they bought me hundreds of gifts… I was really ungrateful, but I didn't want to go back to my old life anymore.

Why would I have done that? Everyone loves me here… my little boy looks at me with a smile and cries with joy when I sing lullabies. As if this had always been my place, everything was perfect.

But a year passed and we had to go back. The Menzer family held a banquet where the heir was announced. Of course, everyone was betting Edward, because the wedding and this little's existence were thoroughly kept secret.

"I'm so excited!"

I smoothed the purple evening dress. I was about to meet the family gangster squad for the first time… and of course Grandpa.

"Don't worry, there will be a couple of guards next to you, but no one at the banquet can hurt us. Grandpa is pulling out the tigers' teeth today."

He attached the little tuxedo on Nic.

"Be good."

We had an appearance at the Menzer family estate for 4 p.m., where the banquet was held in the ballroom. The event officially started at 7pm, but since there was no chance to meet his uncle yet, we went earlier due to a little baby shower.

"Just like you, son!"

The old man's tears fell. At first glance, he looked like a scary, grumpy old man with a hook stick and suit guards behind him, but as soon as Nic laughed at him, his heart was melted.

" Beautiful child, congratulations Dominic! And thank you Hanna!"

He had no intention to let the little prince out of his hands.

"Thank you very much."

I tried to make the best impression.

"Son, since you're inheriting the company anyway, I think it's time for you to move out of the hotel room."

"Grandpa, there is very comfortable and safe."

"Still, the child should rather grow up here, where he can play outdoors. Plus, my days are numbered… let me enjoy this little miracle while I can still do it."

The Menzer estate itself was a smaller hotel. With separate wellness area, outdoor and indoor pool, riding stables, golf course and a modest 20 rooms. Mother-in-law, Father-in-law lived here and Grandpa. Actually, it wasn't more helpful than being close to the grandparents, but Dominik was reluctant to move in for some reason.

"Be it the way you want it. "

He finally gave in, and the old man's face immediately shone.

I found out later that it was not a good idea to move here because any member of the family was free to move around the villa… so it was not as safe as the hotel, despite having 15 security guards on duty at all times. In the end, he trusted that common sense would dictate a greater role in relatives than hunger for money. Plus, this child was living proof that he wasn't infertile, and that only I could get pregnant from him, no one else knew.

It's time for new family members to debut in front of the general public.

I entered the room on my husband's side, and he held the little heir to the throne in his arms. As we put our feet in, the air froze.

Thanks to Silvia, it was an open secret that Dominic couldn't have a child, so the sight surprised everyone. Nic was only with us until Grandpa announced in whose favor he was resigning from the presidency.

"Good evening!"

Dominic greeted everyone politely. A huge crowd got around us, of course everyone was curious about the child's identity.

"I'd like to introduce my wife, Hanna, and my little son, Nicholas."

After the sentence a glass shattered in the corner. It was Dominic's cousin, Anastasia, who stared in our way with fear in her eyes. Her hand was still holding the non-existent champagne glass that had long been on the ground. Next to him is a slightly fat man in glasses over 40, he was pale white. Presumably her husband, Edward.

"But… but how is that possible?"

A doubtful question came.

"Now should I seriously tell the story of the pistil and the stamen?"

Dominik laughed as our son was taken over by his proud grandmother.

"My little boy has always been healthy, Silvia only spread the horror news aroumd because of divorce. He just needed a suitable partner."

She looked at me happily after she roasted the hated ex-daughter-in-law. Suddenly everyone was curious about me.

" I didn't even know you were married! Cousin… you could have really invited me to your wedding."

A man in his 40s, who smelled of patchouli, patted my husband's shoulder. It was Christopher, Anastasia's brother. Truth be told, if Dominic hadn't predicted that he was a gambling addictive, I would have guessed by myself, since he was have a typical casino fugitive.

"Please look, we've both been married, we wanted no more than an official paper." He tried to end the conversation, without leaking much details.

That's when the old Menzer came in. He picked up the microphone and began to speak. He thanked everyone for their work over the past few years, further kneading the egos of the larger investors, then unleashed the snap of the evening as a cold shower.

"Today I will hand over the baton to my grandson, Dominic, and I will spend the rest of my time pampering my great-grandson."

Needless to say, which family left the room first.

Dominic sipped his champagne contentedly. No then the guest army's sarcastic approach slammed into a rough ass licking and I retired with my little son.

On the wall of Edward Winston's office, a crystal whiskey bottle slammed and then fell into a million pieces.

"Damn it! How could this happen ?!"

He began to whip up the equipment with the golf bat in his hand. His wife was waiting upstairs, trembling, knowing that if the office ran out of ruins, she would come next.

- What about the spies ?! How come they didn't notice that this bastard did someone ?! His assistant in the office got his first slap when they got home, his mouth swollen by this time.

" I'll look it up, sir."

"We can screw it now! If I had known in advance, at least the woman … a car could have hit the woman, or we could have pushed her down the stairs… the old man is about to die at any minute… and now that, that mongrel is not barren I have no chance to grab the Meridian!"

He finally hit the assistant with the golf bat. The metal bent over the man's back, while he defended himself as he could.

"Damn it! This evening should have been… Find out everything about that whore!"

He gave the instruction, and the assistant climbed out the door, panting in pain. Edward took out another bottle of alcohol. He loosened his tie, sat down in the leather armchair, and pulled the bottle, through the huge window looking at the clear full moon.

"I need a plan."
