First Day of School

As Indux came into the school, he sees the children heading to one specific location, a location where it leads behind the stairs. He sees the white sign saying these words in black.

[School Orientation in the auditorium on the left.]

"An assembly?" Indux thought to himself. He then followed the students to the auditorium. As he reached the auditorium, he sees multiple students and adults sitting in their seats. Indux finds a seat in the back that is empty, he head towards the seat, sat in it, and waited patiently, but his excitement is still evident in his face. The banter of every child and adult fills the entire room, but Indux sees a man walk into the stage. He is wearing a dark forest green suit, his white buttoned shirt behind it with a black tie and his brown pants. His hair hair is short, brown and smooth, giving a faint shine from the lights surrounding it. The brown haired man reaches the pedestal in the center of the stage and the students who looked started to get quiet.

"Welcome to Teraxa Elementary Magic School!" He happily announced.

"My name is Denver Alexander and I am the principal of this school." Denver said.

"Do you know why you're here in this school?" Denver asked the crowd, but the students there did not answer as they do not know.

"You're here to not only become stronger, but to forge your own future and live a successful life. Centuries ago, there was only one law. 'Survival of the Fittest'. Meaning, the strong devours the weak, the weak fear the strong, and so on. That meaning remains here to this day. Here in Teraxa, you are here to be strong and show kindness." The students were silent, yet are engaged.

"After my introduction, you will be split into groups to be gauged on what is your class in terms of power, if you score high, great! You're talented. If you didn't, that's alright. You have room to improve your magic." Denver said, winking.

"Now I, Denver Alexander hereby welcomes you all to Teraxa Elementary Magic School!" Denver shouted and the students and adults clapped, Indux included. Denver takes a bow and left the stage. The adults guides the students outside the auditorium and to places where their magic will be gauged.

As they reach one of the rooms, they see a transparent crystal ball on a white cloth-covered table. A man in a white cloak walks to the table and sits on a wooden chair. The man has his gray hair down to his neck, his face defined with wrinkles. He appears to be at least 60 years old. Then a younger woman who appears to be in her early 30's is in a simple black dress wearing glasses walked to the man with her clipboard and pen.

"Here, this crystal ball shall gauge not only your element, but your magic class. The students will go first in the order of their last names alphabetically." the old man said. "It is simple, just put your hands on the crystal ball and the color will indicate your element."

"Terrence Abio." the woman said. Terrence walked forward. Terrence has black hair like Indux, but it's curly and shorter than his straight hair. He is wearing a beige long sleeve shirt and green pants with a patch on his right knee. Terrence must be from a somewhat poor family, Indux thought, but he remembered Algra's words as to not judge a book from its cover. Terrence puts his hands on the crystal ball and the crystal shone an orange light.

"Earth element and you are at Peak Beginner class." the old man said. Terrence became a little happy that he is close to ascending to Novice class and returned to his seat.

"Paige Auburn." the woman said. Paige walked up wearing a long red shirt which reached above her knees, almost looking like a dress of sorts. She has long, but wavy brown hair reaching to her shoulders. She places touched the ball and it shone green.

"Wind element and Base Novice class." Paige slightly bowed and walked back to her seat.

"Clyde Bentaro." the woman said. Clyde walked forth in a dignified manner along with his blue noble jacket, gray buttoned shirt and blue pants, Indux instantly knew that Clyde is a the son of a noble. He placed his hand and the crystal ball emits a deep blue light.

"Water element and...oh, you're in Base Novice class." said the old man with his eyes slightly widened. The students were astonished, some were envious. Clyde smiled with confidence as he was born in nobility, where they have higher magic than usual.

"Olivia Collins." the woman said. Olivia hastily walked towards the old man with her hands close together. She wears a white dress with small pink flowers on them, she also has short curly blond hair with a pink hairpin. She nervously placed her hand on the ball and it glows white.

"Light element and your class is High Beginner." Paige let out a sigh of relief and returned to her seat, but still nervous.

{Few minutes later...}

"Daegus Knox." the woman said. Daegus walked over to the old man, but tripped, falling to his knees. The kids laughed at his clumsy approach, but Daegus laughed too and got up quickly to the old man. Daegus has a short, but wavy red hair. He wears a red shirt and blue pants, but were slightly dirty. He places his hand on the ball and the orb shone a red light.

"Fire element and you're at Mid Beginner class." Daegus nodded and walked towards his seat.

"Indux Onyxthorn."

"Oh that's me..." Indux thought to himself. Indux walked towards the old man and the crystal ball. He took a deep breath and placed his hand on the ball, but it didn't shine, it turned black, murky with faint purple light and it emitted a black and purple aura.

"Darkness element and...my goodness. Peak Novice Class!" the old man exclaimed. The students were even more astonished than Clyde's. Indux must be on the verge of ascending to the Apprentice Class. Which is very high for a five year-old. Indux walked back to his seat with a smile in his face.

Time flies by as additional students are gauged. Some reached Beginner or Novice before at time they attended this school, but few others are close to ascending to Apprentice class including Indux.

"This concludes the magic assessment. You may leave." the old man said and the students stood up and began exiting the room.

"Wow...we have some talented people." one student said.

"Clyde is a noble, so he's strong." another student said.

"But Indux is close to being in the Apprentice class, what if he ascended?"

Clyde does not like that Indux got more attention than he did. However, he will not falter. What will come next is the projectile training. Since he knows that he will score high since he's been there for a year.

"So Indux Onyxthorn is your name. Though you're a bit higher, but I've been here for a year. Let's how you do." Clyde thought to himself, determined to make a statement. What Indux had done, unknowingly earned himself a rival.
