50,000 years ago, Hell was destroyed because of too much Foul from the resentment of the souls that later turned to Soul Eaters and devoured everything in their wake, leaving nothing of Hell. The gods above in Heaven, in order to take care of the newly-died souls, created the Afterlife Department comprised of grim reapers. 

Huo Ling was delivering food that day when he met Yi Bing and the guy gave him a warning. When he arrived to the customer's unit, he was killed.

<p>Huo Ling turned, but saw that Shen Sheng is still facing the enemies. His expression is cold as he faced the traitors of Heaven to which he gave life to before. Now, they show their ingratitude by attacking him, their creator!</p>

<p>Huo Ling really feels pity towards Shen Sheng to be able to experience such an awful thing as being betrayed. Shen Sheng is a great being – well, figuratively and literally. Thus, Huo Ling also feels indignant for this injustice that Shen Sheng should never feel and experience! But, what can Huo Ling do when even Shen Sheng himself – the greatest being in the world, can't do anything about his situation?</p>
