Traitor

4 days later.

Monday, 8 AM at Lockwood Corporation's Hall.

"Good morning to the respectable major shareholders of the mighty Lockwood Corporation. We are all gathered here today for our Annual General Shareholder's Meeting. Today we will discuss the major projects of Lockwood Corporation for this year. We will also evaluate the company's performance in the past year, in relation to this, we will decide whether we still want President Henry Lockwood to be the head of the company or we're going to elect a new president."

"Luke, did you make sure that everything is alright?" Jacob asked his secretary.

"Yes Sir, I had a meeting with the shareholders and they confirmed their votes for us," he replied.

"That's good then," Jacob said.

Internally, Jacob was already feeling spiced up. The moment he had been waiting for so long has finally come and he was excited.

Lockwood Corporations will finally be his.

"To start our event, let us welcome on stage, the President of Lockwood Corporation, Mr. Henry Lockwood," the host said.

Everybody stood up to give Henry a round of applause, Jacob included.

"Thank you everyone for being here," Henry said as soon as he reached the podium, "Lockwood Corporation, as you all know, is one company that has been in the business for more than 60 years now. My parents have built Lockwood from scratch and because of their hard work, it is what it is now. Ever since I took over my father's position, I have done everything in my power to take care of Lockwood Corporation."

"As you all know, the current CEO of Lockwood Corporation is my son, Jacob Lockwood. I'm proud to say that he had been performing really well on his job, he even closed a deal with the Crook Empire de Parfum," Henry spoke proudly.

Everybody reacted with an 'ooh' sound which boosted Jacob's pride and ego.

"It's not much," Jacob chuckled.

"I'm really proud of what my son has become. I feel like I can retire already anytime soon," Henry chuckled, "This man is already getting really old and slow," he added which made everybody chuckle.

"I want to take this opportunity to announce something really important," Henry suddenly turned serious, "As you all know, my son is currently married to the daughter of the Smith family. They have been married for 5 years now but they still have no child," he said.

"I was guessing that it's because my son is being too busy with his work that's why he still can't give me a grandson," Henry smiled, "Today I decided to free my son from work. I want him to focus on his family first and so a new CEO will be appointed today."

Jacob's arrogant expression suddenly changed.

What was his dad saying?

"I want all of you to meet the new Chief Executive Officer of Lockwood Corporation, Luke Daniels!" Henry spoke in glee.

Jacob suddenly felt his throat tightened.

What was this sudden turn of events?

His dad said what?

"Mr. Daniels, please come to the stage," said the host.

Jacob immediately turned to his secretary with an unexplainable expression, "What the hell is the meaning of this?" he asked.

"I'm sorry Sir," his secretary apologized. Not minding Jacob, he stood up from his seat and went straight to the stage.

"Hello everyone, I'm Luke Daniels. I'm looking forward to working with all of you," he said and bowed to everyone.

"What the f*ck is this?!" Jacob shouted in anger, "Why are you appointing that stupid secretary as the new CEO?!" he added.

Several days ago, when Alexander went to City A, after he met with Henry Lockwood, he had searched for Jacob's secretary next. He figured that if there's one person who knew Jacob's entire plan, it was probably him.

He was the reason why Alexander easily persuaded the shareholders.

Luke didn't want to stay under Jacob anymore. He was one reckless, insensitive person. Luke was always the one taking responsibility for his actions and he didn't want to deal with him anymore. He was so done with his obsessive plans of taking over Lockwood Corporation to win her ex-girlfriend back. So when Alexander offered him this opportunity, he grabbed it immediately.

He didn't want to stay under an obsessive ex-boyfriend anymore.

"You f*ucking traitor!" Jacob cursed as he pointed at his secretary accusingly. He immediately rushed to the stage and punched Luke's face, "What the hell did I do for you to betray me like this huh!?" Jacob grabbed his collar and lifted him.

"Let go of him Jacob!" Henry shouted angrily.

Jacob immediately let go of Luke and face his father, "What is wrong with you dad? Are you really going to hand my position to a f*ucking traitor!?" he questioned.

Henry instantly lifted his hand and slapped Jacob, "Ingrato! You dare speak such words when you're a traitor yourself?" he yelled, "You think I won't find out about your plan to kick me out of my position huh?!"

Jacob's eyes suddenly widened, "What a-are you-t-talking about?" he held the side of his face which was slapped.

"Don't try and deny it Jacob! I know everything and if you think you can get away from it, you're wrong!" Henry was obviously in rage right now. There's nothing more painful for a parent than their child betraying them.

Jacob suddenly fell on his knees with his palms placed together, "I'm sorry dad, I know I was wrong. I won't do it again! Please just give me my position back," he pleaded.

Henry just smirked at him, "Just a while ago you were acting arrogant, look at you now," he said, "But I won't give you any chance Jacob. You have broken my trust completely. From this day forward, you are no longer part of the Lockwood Family! I don't want a son like you!" Henry declared.

"Not dad, please! I'm sorry! I'll change, I promise!" Jacob grabbed the sleeves of his father, "You still need me! I'm the son-in-law of the Smith Group!" he said.

Henry looked at him with a mocking smile, "Lockwood can go on without the Smiths Jacob. Don't think too highly of yourself," Henry raised his hand and signaled the guards, "Escort this man out," he ordered.

"No! No! Dad!" Jacob called out as soon as the guards grabbed him, "Let go of me you pricks!" he cursed.

Henry immediately brought his phone out and sent Alexander a text.

'Thank you so much for your help Mr. Grande. Lockwood Corporation will remember this. If ever you need help, my company will always be on your call.'
