"Who did you call?" Sabrina asked as soon as Alexander returned.

"Just a new employee of mine, I just gave him a few instructions," Alexander responded and sat back down beside Sabrina.

Sabrina, getting sleepy, rested her head on Alexander's shoulder, "I feel really happy right now but at the same time I'm scared," she suddenly said.

Alexander took a sip from his wine glass, "Why?" he asked.

"Everything just feels so perfect right now. Us, the wedding, my career, my family, everything is on its right place and I feel very happy but at the same time I'm worried," she said, "I'm too happy right now and I fear that maybe one day something bad might happen."

Alexander patted Sabrina's head gently, "I won't let anything bad happen to you okay?" Alexander turned his head and placed a kiss on Sabrina's forehead, "You should sleep now, we're going to fetch your parents tomorrow," he said.

"I'm too sleepy to get up," Sabrina spoke sleepily, "Carry me to bed," she said.

Alexander, being the doting man that he was to her, complied to her request immediately. He stood up from his seat and carried Sabrina.

Lifting her up, Sabrina wrapped her arms around Alexander's neck and nuzzled against it.

City A.

"How dare he steal the position of CEO from you! I can't believe your father, he really chose to give that position to a measly secretary!?" Valerie vexed in disbelief, "Is your dad even thinking?!" she added.

"My dad wants to kick me out," Jacob said. He placed both his hands on the back of his neck, "I can't lose to that man!" he spoke in frustration.

Valerie sat beside Jacob and patted him on the back, "Don't worry you still have me honey," she said.

"But I can't lose my company!" Jacob yelled which made Valerie jump in shock. He immediately hugged Valerie, "I'm sorry, I'm just stressed out," he apologized.

Valerie hugged him back, "It's okay, I understand," she said, "I'll ask my parents for help. You'll definitely get back what's yours," she comforted him.

"Thank you for being there honey. I don't know what I'd do without you," Jacob said.

"I'll always be here for you," Valerie responded. She pulled away from the hug and held Jacob's face, "Everything will be fine, just trust me okay?" she said and leaned forward to kiss Jacob.

"I love you," Valerie said.

"I love you too," Jacob replied.

Valerie stood up from the bed and grabbed her bag, "I'm going to the company to fix some issues and I'll go visit my parents after to ask for help. I'll be home late," she said.

"No worries, I'll wait for you," Jacob smiled at her, "Take care," he waved at her.

As soon as Valerie left, Jacob opened his safe and grabbed a long brown envelope inside. He brought out the contents of the envelope and stared at it.

'Petition for Divorce'

Jacob suddenly stood up and threw the papers across the room. He punched the wall repeatedly, not feeling any pain due to anger. He only stopped when blood came rushing down his hands.

He was one step closer to the success he wanted.

A step closer to having the company.

A step closer on being freed from this marriage.

A step closer on being free to be with Sabrina again.

But all of his plans went down on the drains because of a small-time secretary, who went behind his back.

"How did he even manage to steal my job!" he shouted.

Jacob sat down on the floor and rested his back on the wall. He placed his hands on the back of his head and thought deeply where things went wrong.

He thought that his plan was going really smooth, how can something like this happen? All 5 years he spent suffering and sacrificing himself all went to waste. All of his efforts became nothing.

He was sure that Luke was the one who told his father about his plan to kick him out of the position of president, but he knew Luke. Luke was his secretary for 7 years now, if he were to betray Jacob, he could've done it a long time ago. Jacob knew that Luke couldn't possibly have the courage to stab him on the back, well not unless…

He was pushed to do so.

Jacob's facial expression immediately darkened.

Could it be that someone was going against him?

He immediately stood up and grabbed his phone. He dialed Luke Daniel's number.

"Can we talk?" Jacob said as soon as the call was answered.

"I'm sorry Sir, but I'm busy," Luke said and dropped the call immediately.

Jacob fumed in anger. How dare he shut him down!? Was he thinking highly of himself now?!

Jacob opened his phone once again and searched for a certain number. He scanned his contacts and pressed the call as soon as he found it.

"Good Morning Mr. Lockwood, how may I help you?" the person from the other line said.

"I need you to do a work for me," Jacob spoke in gritted teeth.

"Of course Mr. Lockwood, as long as I get paid right," the man said.

"I want Luke Daniels," Jacob instructed, "Alive, I'll pay you any amount you want," he added.

"Send me a picture and I'll get the task finished right away," said the man.

Jacob dropped the call and immediately browsed his gallery. He sent Luke's photo to the person he was on the phone with.

He had a strong feeling that there was something more to this story. Luke can't do all of this all by himself, Jacob was sure that someone was backing him.

Someone helped him to do all this.

But who?

Who could be going against him?

Did he offend someone in any way?

And then a thought popped on his mind.

There was one person who he had bad blood with.

One person who had the motive to do this to him.

"Alexander Grande," Jacob said.

Could it be him?
