Bane's Bane

Crynn POV

My eyes futtered, the bright light penetrated my eyelids. Groaning, I drove my lids up, bringing my still aching hands to cover my eyes, the sunny sky seems to want to blind me, I wearily brought my back up, one hand gripping my dizzy head and the other giving support on the ground. "What happened," the dizziness really hurts me. After a second, memories by memories started seeping through my head, I remembered everything. The army of acromantulas and the final skill to wipe them all out.

"Never using that skill again," I bleated to myself, that skill wiped my energy out like an athlete that ran around the world without stopping, that's a little exaggerating but I'm still as worn out as a camel walking through the Sahara. "I need water," scrambling from the ground, I began looking for my suitcase all over the mangled corpses of the acromantulas. After a minute or a half of kicking over corpses (Now I'm tired again), I finally found it, with shining eyes and glimmering pupils, I rushed towards it and hugged it like it's the only thing left in my life, the suitcase is a dimensional bag and damn myself if i were ever to lose such a thing. To my knowledge, only the world of Harry Potter has such bags, if you discount Doraemon.

"Time to go back," I held up my suitcase, my sword touching the ground, I looked forward in determination and glee at getting the centaurs to finally get rid of the acromantulas once and for all. I laughed my self made evil laugh to the sky, that day, all the beings in the forest would recognize the sound of 'The Coming of Evil', kukukukukuku, grining and laughing to myself like the madman I already am. I began searching for an X mark on some tree, along my way, I marked a lot of trees so I could remember the way back to the spot of the centaurs. I started to scamper around looking for the X mark like a pirate looking for treasure.

Discovering the mark, I began to trail the mark back, where the glorious beginnings of 'The Crynn and Centaur Chronicles' and the prologue to the end of the illustrious carreer of the acromantulas. "Quickly, quickly," I sung happily along the way back, dragging the sword on the ground like some happy-go killer.

Centaurs are a species known for having a body structure resembling a breed of half-human, half-horse. They are known as an intelligent species, though classified as an XXXX Class 'Beast'. They rejected the 'Being' status for reasons that they would be associated to vampires and hags if they accepted the status, thus they declined. Every centaur is born a natural seer, capable of predicting future events but won't talk about what they see. Centaurs are highly skilled in Magical Healing, Astronomy, Divination and Archery. But whats most extraordinary is their ability of using magic without a wand, but they somehow still prefer the traditional bow and arrow.

Centaurs are highly traditional beings, that see humans as lower class and the thought of helping humans in any kind, seems to lower their prestige and pride. The only know 'kind' centaur would be Firenze, a professor that taught Divination alongside Sybill Trelwaney. It's going to be a pain to get them to help me, but a proof of over 70 massacred acromantulas might just do the trick.

At long last, I arrived at the final X mark. "Centaurs! Firenze! Bane!" I roared throughout the forest, the sound echoing through trees. A few seconds past by, a galloping was heard and there it is, the arrogant Bane and his guards. "Why are you back, human," I really hate that condescending tone, I'm gonna wipe it out of his face. "I completed the task at hand, one lair massacred and butchered," I smirked at his face, Bane seems very sceptical. "Wait here human," Bane galloped away with his two guards, leaving me alone. "What's with this centaurs," I complained to the ground which can't give me any reply.

A few minutes later, Bane brought back much more centaurs and another centaur that stood in front of him. "I'm Magorian human, and I heard you want our noble help in eliminating those foul beasts," I heard the centaur, Magorian said. I instantly knew who I was talking to. The public leader of the centaur pack is talking with me, "Yes, Centaur Magorian, I massacred an entire lair to prove my worth," I said bowing to him. In most situations, you need to flatter someone of high position to get them to help you on anything. "Then show me the proof human," He said thsi time a little less judging, it seems my bow trick works heh.

"Follow me," I replied and led them through the Xs I made. After a while of walking awkwardly with no one saying even one word, the silence is serious. "We have arrived," I said beamingly at Magorian, which in turn has his eyes turned into saucers and the bow he holds fell from his palm. Surprised would be an understatement, you would have to be absolutely astounded at the sight of a lair of your enemies dead before you. Magorian opened his mouth wanting to speak something, I carefully focused my hearing, in which he closed his mouth, and opened, and closed.

Yup, astonished indeed. He eventually spoke up, more respectful this time around, "We need to talk with the grand elder before making a decision human." He immediately galloped back with the rest of the centaurs. "Did they just leave me here?" I said irritated at being left alone.

Meanwhile with the galloping centaurs, "You can't be serious Magorian," Bane shouted out loud at the leader. "You saw what happened, this might be our only chance at getting rid of the acromantula colonies in this forest." Magorian suggested. "But he's human," Bane replied back with the horrible prejudiced excuse. "No normal human can wipe out that many Acromantula, if everything goes right, we will fully cooperate and move to destroy the acromantulas," Magorian shot back, this time with an expression of 'I'm the leader, I get the say'. Bane immediately shut up. Working with the filthy and low-life human? This really is the 'Bane' of Bane.
