Companion Mission

Calian POV

[You got a companion mission? That's why Zeus told me not to tell you that you're getting a companion after the second mission.]

"A companion mission? What's that?" My first thought was aimed at the world I'm going to which is very, very bad. I played Resident Evil 3 once back in April, getting chased by a big bad programmed zombie is scary as heck! But a companion mission, I'm guessing it has something to do with I'm getting someone to accompany me on these missions.

[You thought correct, a companion mission is aimed to get you a companion for your missions.]

"Hey voice! You do know that it's incredibly impolite to go snooping at people's thoughts!" When I first met this voice, I was thinking of those dull and expressionless systems in Chinese webnovels. Instead of that, I got this mind reading scumbag voice!

[Don't curse at me Calian, I'm your delightful voice sent me Zeus! Now sadly, I've got work to do and also, companion missions have no bonus objectives in them. There are still rewards in the end though.]

"Damn voice, disappearing and reappearing anytime it liked," I grumbled and centered myself in this predicament, zombies are not fun. It's only been a couple of months since I last played the game, my memory can't be that bad. Ok, Jill Valentine is I think a stubborn woman, very heroic and that's about it.

I rubbed my face and moaned a few times, this is very annoying! I think the game starts in a district and moves on to some underground tunnels, a hospital and finally like every other Resident Evil games, the Umbrella secret lab. Only thing is, I can't recall everything perfectly so I'll just have to go with the flow on this one and my memories will recollect along the way.

I put on my Kingsman electronic glasses which makes me quite the swag and fastened my tuxedo buttons. I've never really wore tuxedos back when I was alive simply because its uncomfortable and a bit hot. The Kingsman version of a tux though is equipped with cooling and warming systems and everything is tailor made in luxury and combat for the users.

I've also managed to snag about 3 dozen of these little batteries mainly for the glasses and even then one battery can sustain it for a long year. I consider that impressive as one of my family's subsidiaries deal with energy and their storage system. To find an energy cell so small and able to store a year's worth of energy enough for this awesome glasses is simply far beyond our age.

You may not know this cause I don't know it until I entered the movie but the Kingsman has these straps connected to their tailored pants to hold the umbrella. With it I could just stick my umbrella on them and both my hands are free to do anything without having to hold it. I could always put it in the 'system' space but pulling it out from nowhere in the middle of a battle is highly suspicious.

"Whoooh, okay, I'm ready," I can't believe a rich heir like me had to resort to an activity like this, at least it's not as boring as managing a company. It's in fact very thrilling and heirs like me needs some adrenaline. So, shoot zombies in the head and don't get bitten, done. I clicked the virtual button and in a moment's time, I'm away.

When I reappeared, I was standing in the middle of a f*cking fire circle! Okay, stay calm and cool remember, language. Yes, I've gotta watch my mouth, no pointless curses just like my dad taught me, always be polite and never utter words like that. Think straight, where have I got to go, whatever let's just go forward in the direction where my face is looking at.

Thank God for the cooling system, I don't need to sweat liters in this tuxedo, fire has got nothing on me, remember that. Based on the fire, Raccoon City must have fallen by now and Jill Valentine would probably be around roaming a specific road. I came near the fire and looked around, I'm genuinely surrounded by tall leaves of fire and burning police cars.

Do I really have to use the liquid nitrogen spray, I sighed and took a metal spray can from my small shoulder handbag. Pressing the valve, liquid nitrogen is sprayed out in small amounts, quickly putting out the fire. A path is finally created onto another road and I heard a sudden explosion and the appearance of more fires from below that parking building.

That's where action is isn't it. I sprinted quietly evading the attention of the burning zombies, quiet is key in this game, remember that. I just thought of something, isn't this supposed to be a movie travel thing, why is it putting me into a game? A question for after this ends, I now need to really reach the place.

I got closer and saw a line of aflamed cars and exploded gasoline tankers, what a coincidence for 3 tankers to be near the main character. And what the heck is that, a big giant with some machine built into his left chest and an outfit of black leather covering his chest and down. What's his name again, Nem-Nem-Nem, my rival, my rival, my NEMESIS!

There it is, I knew it was some kind of synonym for 'rival' and I got it, it's called Nemesis which if you'd think about it is a very suitable name. Because it's Jill's 'nemesis', do you get that, hehe. "Hey! Fuckface!" I reached the are just in time for a man to shout profanities and fire a rocket from his quad-launcher.

With astonishment, Nemesis caught it with his tentacle and redirected it to a nearby car. I quickly got my gun out and fired shots on his ugly head, turns out what the man said was true. His head is a weird one, small eyes and the facial skin somehow stretched to stick to his neck, it's very unsettling.

Seeing the sudden opportunity, the man fired a rocket right to the back of Nemesis, roaring in pain and falling on the asphalt road. The man ran up to which I reckon is Jill, lying n the ground in front of Nemesis. Both exchanged words and the man's face shifted and looked at me, "You follow me, We're going to somewhere safe."

I don't really trust that but if my it's what I'm thinking about, then we're going to a subway station which is 'safe' for a short while. I slowly moved matching the man's speed spotting him in front and I safe guarded the back and gazed at the Nemesis who is not dead and left him there, I've got nothing that could be able to kill him anyway.

Is it a him or is it an it? Nemesis must be a male but Nemesis is pretty much an agglomeration of the virus, machine, flesh and biological madness so i think its fair to surmise that it's an it. "Here we are," the man, which I can't remember the name of, lifting the overhead door, sliding Jill in and waved at me to get through.

I crawled under and he made it in and closed it shut. He supported Jill down the stairs and let her go. "I think we're in the clear," the man huffed and placed a hand on the wall and stretched his hand out, "My name is Carlos Oliveira." I gripped his hand, shaking it less than enthusiastically and replied back, "My name is Calian Otho Aurelius."

He must have been taken aback by my long very aristocratic sounding name, I don't blame him, everyone said that my name is too noble for my own good. "My name is Jill Valentine," I turned and set my eyes on Jill. Closer, her European-Asian features are really striking, her well-toned face and physique shows that she is physically trained not to be muscular but to be agile and lean.

Overall, she is very well-developed and extremely beautiful, especially when the yellow subway lights are aimed to the side of her face and downwards. She's wearing a top-buttoned racerback tank top, a white sleeveless undershirt and long black form fitting trousers. Along with military boots, a gun holster tied to her thigh and carry shoulder bag holsters.

"Well hello then, Jill," I'm sure this will be a the start of new beginnings.
