Crynn POV
"Ok, remind me not to piss off any Thunderbirds in the future," I stared at the wreckage caused by the large bird, all the Anubis guards have been wiped clean. "Birdie's a strong one," feeling flattered, Newt spoke in a proud tone. I won't even say that who I'm complimenting is the Thunderbird and not you, Newt.
"Let's get on with this," Aria said from behind me as she went ahead, strolling towards the next room entrance. "Birdie, come back," Newt gently patted the Thunderbird with affection and had it go inside the briefcase. "Speaking of briefcases, do you already have the specific habitat for a sphinx in that?"
"Err... Of course I had, I built the habitat the last I went to Egypt, unfortunately I did not get a sphinx but fortunately, now I got the biggest and most beautiful one!" He laughed out loud in joy, God, Newt is such an animal enthusiast, would make a good animal rights movements leader. "Now look at this!"
I gazed everywhere in amazement once entering the room, there was gold about everywhere! The whole room was coated in gold! That's incredible! There are three golden shelves on the left, right and back walls, each shelves contain a lot of different books complete with different colors. We're looking for the 'Book of the Ocean', and the ocean is generally blue colored.
"Instead of looking for the specific book, how about we just get every book out of here?" That's a wonderful idea, Aria! "She speaks the truth," Newt also agreed, either way, we should be getting quite the gain from this. Speaking of gains, is the security in this place that lax or is it just me. Because, I don't remember Hamunaptra being this easy and not traumatizing.
I guess we have Newt Scamander on our side which will just about make just about everything here easy peazy lemon squeezy. But seriously, let's look at the books. There's one decorated with sapphire gemstones and others with bright crystals, this is all so interesting! A shame I can't understand Ancient Egyptian or this might just be a good read!
I reached out to try and touch it but refrained as I remembered, this is a forbidden library. "Everyone, let's not touch anything, this place is Ancient Egypt's forbidden library, who knows what these books contain, let's just pack it all up. Newt, maybe you can magically move the shelves and the books into your briefcase?" I asked.
"Surely," Newt opened and laid his briefcase on the floor. He raised his wand high and started waving in a circle. Little by little, the shelves started to rotate and joined the rotational force of the wand, disintegrating to form a tornado of gold and other minor colors. Newt directly brought the wand down and pointed towards the open briefcase, dumping everything inside.
"That's settled, how do we get out of here?" Aria inquired, hmm... is there any way out through this golden room? "Ehm... I fund a small switch?" Newt suddenly informed and placed his finger on a small wooden bump which is definitely some kind of a switch. "Push it up," I said and Newt directly flicked it, opening a hatch above our head in which a ladder descended.
"Ladders, convenient," I voiced my opinion and became the first to climb up, using a Lumos to light up the chamber. Aria went up second and finally Newt as well, but damn the place is dusty, could've sneezed quite a few times. As soon as Newt appeared from the ladder and stood on the floor, the hatch closed itself as the ladder retracted.
"Lovely, doors closing behind us, definitely not a sign of a trap," I sighed, I just want to get out right now. "Ehm... There seems to be an opening there," thanks Newt, appreciate it. We came to the opening which is yet another entrance to yet another room. Skulls, skeletons, armor, helmets, spears, swords, shields, all around, not a good sign is it.
"We stumbled across a soldier graveyard," I drily said while rubbing my head, I would damn the heavens if these soldiers somehow, someway, came to the living, dead. "Wait a minute, did the Department of Mysteries Operatives give us a method to go back to their department?" All of a sudden, Aria asked.
Without answering, I looked towards Newt as he looked towards me and finally towards Aria. "No they didn't, did they," Aria questioned and we shook our heads. To be honest, I forgot about that, how are we going to go back. "Well, I guess we could always borrow the Egyptian Ministry's international travel floo."
Good point Newt, main priority right now is an out of the library. "Let's just get past these skeletons to the nearest exit point which is that way," Aria stretched her hand towards another entrance. I sighed and thought, this place is a cluster crap of entrances and rooms, way too much rooms, not as much as Hamunaptra but still too much.
"What's next, a garden," hahaha, impossible for there to be a garden in this jun- is that a garden, I jinxed it didn't I. "Never thought of you as a diviner," Newt said as we proceed into the dead garden. It's most certainly a garden with dead plants all over, an effect of not having a caretaker for more than 2000 years.
Time for the next room! This time, only a large lever, a platform, and no more entrances are here! I suppose we have to stand on the platform then? We slowly stepped foot onto the platform and looked around. Maybe the only thing left to do is to pull the lever. "Newt? Might you be able to magically pull the lever," of course he's able to, he's a wizard.
Newt took out his wand towards the lever and pulled the wand back. Unsurprisingly, the lever followed the wands movements and also got pulled back. Okay, gears, gears, gears, and gears rolling around under us. "I've got a bad feeling about this," I'm just stating it out, most of the time, intuition is your best friend.
I saw the platform glowing blue and then...
